Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 389: Chapter 297: One-Sided Slaughter, Mutated Humans

There’s no time to waste; if Xu Xin’s previous guess was correct, they must act quickly.

Based on the time side effects of his portal, low-level mutant creatures like Afu and Lou Fei’Er are likely to be dizzy for about ten to fifteen minutes.

This means that if the effect of this purple-black vortex is the same as his portal, they only have five minutes left.

Without another word, Xu Xin led everyone and every beast present, swinging down from the treehouse.

”Go!” Xu Xin kicked off the ground and leaped tens of meters forward in an instant.

”Whee!” Keke clung tightly to Xu Xin’s shoulder.

”Awoo!” Silver King and Mimi launched into a sprint, immediately following suit, even dashing ahead of Xu Xin.

”I won’t lose in speed!” Lou Fei’Er burst forward, close behind.

Afu came last, flapping his wings as he caught up.

Xu Xin leapt three times to the edge of the snow layer, swinging the side blade of his halberd horizontally downward, creating a gust of wind that swept away the snow before him.

Beneath the snow, a purely white rabbit lay trembling on the ground, its red eyes looking at Xu Xin before it shakily closed them again.

”A regular rabbit?” Xu Xin was a bit surprised.

He had thought that at least the animals surrounding his treehouse were all mutant creatures, not expecting a regular little rabbit to mix in.

How can such a cute bunny possibly...

Mimi pounced suddenly, biting down on the rabbit, blood splattering everywhere.

”Whee!” Keke was just about to greet the little rabbit when it was instantly beheaded, startling the little guy.

The poor little rabbit thus became Mimi’s snack.

A bloody scent began permeating the air, combined with the smell of gunpowder from the two hundred explosive bolts that were swept into the blizzard, creating a sense reminiscent of a modern battlefield.

”Wow, what a pity.” Lou Fei’Er licked her lips, looking quite different from before; her pupils seemed about to glow red, and her expression became somewhat alluring as she was influenced by the bloody scent. ”Such a cute bunny, it must be delicious. I haven’t had rabbit meat in a long time. I’m getting a little hungry. Next time, I’ll make roast rabbit for you all.”

The bloody scent seemed to affect the mutant creatures hiding beneath the snow; different spots on the snow surface began to tremble slightly.

”Don’t waste time. All of you, attack, there are many mutant creatures hidden in the snow layer. When it’s weak, take its life!” Xu Xin ordered immediately.

Instantly, the three beasts surged forward.

Afu took the initiative, soaring into the air, launching a piercing sonic attack at the snow layer.

The soft snow trembled under the sonic assault, and the mutant creatures hidden within started to move, causing the snow to crack in many places.

The creatures beneath most of the snow layer were exposed under this wave of sound!

Silver King leapt, diving into the snow.

Piercing screams emerged from the snow, and when it lifted its head, a struggling white fox with blood patterns was clenched in its mouth.

This fox’s struggle was minimal, just as Xu Xin had imagined, rendering it entirely without combat strength.

Indeed, that’s the case! These mutant creatures are now truly in a dizzy, weakened state!

Regrettably, they couldn’t contact others now; otherwise, even if it was dangerous for ordinary survivors outside, at least he could inform the others among the [Explorers].

Silver King’s massive tusks had now pierced through the snow fox’s body; with a forceful bite, the bloody patterned snow fox’s body was instantly torn into three pieces, one in the mouth, the other two dropping onto the snow, the slightly twitching remains bleeding out, staining the pure white snow red.

...It was way worse than the rabbit that Mimi bit to death in an instant.

Though Silver King’s explosiveness wasn’t as strong as Mimi’s and it didn’t use claws to attack, its bite force was immense, incomparable to Mimi’s.

[Kill snow fox, gain points: 30 points.]

Meanwhile, Mimi was frantically slashing at a patch of snow, flashing cold lights.

White snow mixed with flying blood continuously scattered; the surrounding snow was soaked with blood, and amidst screeches, without even seeing what creature was beneath, Mimi had already sent the poor thing on its way.

[Kill snow wolf, gain points: 30 points.]

All this happened in an instant; Silver King and Mimi attacked the buried beasts relentlessly, and Xu Xin’s ears were filled with notifications of kills and points gained.

He didn’t make a move.

He wasn’t good at attacking creatures under the snow, and adding himself wouldn’t increase efficiency much, so he let Silver King Mimi handle it.

Exhaling a breath of white, he observed the map, searching for what he truly wanted to find.

Ji Chaoyang had said that he had seen a mutated human in his prophecy, holding tools.

So, among this batch of mutant creatures, might there be mutant humans who could communicate?

”Whee!” Keke suddenly pushed Xu Xin’s face with her little paw.

”What’s up, Keke?” Xu Xin snapped back to reality, realizing that Lou Fei’Er had been standing next to him motionless and not attacking.

She was staring wide-eyed, her blood-red pupils sparkling with an unusual light, her face gradually showing two faint blood patterns.
