Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 399: Chapter 300: The Strength of the Giant Beast, Overwhelming! _3

The series of explosions seemed to also discomfort the giant anaconda, causing it to hiss and spit its tongue. Then, it opened its massive mouth and bit directly onto the treetop.

”Crack!”

The treehouse was punctured with two holes by the giant anaconda’s fangs.

”Did that guy get out yet? Still not out?” Lou Fei’Er was also anxious. Was Ma Hongwei still in the treehouse?

Before her eyes, Ma Hongwei’s treehouse was completely shattered by the giant anaconda, turning into a heap of debris.

The giant anaconda didn’t swallow it; the bite was just retaliation against the explosive bolts that had hurt it and didn’t consume the treehouse with its mouth.

It slowly loosened its body, lifted its huge head above the treehouse’s ruins, took a couple of looks, and even prodded the ruins with its head.

Then, under Lou Fei’Er’s somewhat surprised gaze, it turned and very leisurely returned toward the lake.

Wherever it went, countless trees were crushed, creating a new path.

”...So what was it here for? Was it just because the explosive bolts attracted it that it came and destroyed the treehouse?”

Lou Fei’Er felt a chill in her heart, very grateful that Xu Xin had held her back earlier, stopping her from using the crossbow to attack.

After waiting several seconds, until the anaconda’s tail was out of sight, she rushed to the ruins of the treehouse.

She immediately saw Ma Hongwei in the middle of the debris.

All his bones seemed to have been crushed, his whole body lying twisted in a very distorted shape, covered in blood.

”Is... is he still alive?” Lou Fei’Er quickly approached.

At the same time, Ma Hongwei’s body began to change, blood patterns started creeping up his face, and his very twisted body slowly began to recover, his crushed abdomen slowly rising back to normal.

”Thankfully, thankfully, as long as he’s not dead.” Lou Fei’Er breathed a sigh of relief, knowing how important this guy was to Xu Xin’s organization—if he were truly dead, it would be troublesome.

She hesitated for a moment, took out the wristband Xu Xin had just handed her, and, fighting discomfort, stored the already human-shaped, nearly awakened Ma Hongwei inside.

If he woke up, he might not fit inside.

Then she quickly stuffed the wristband into her clothes pocket, as it couldn’t be stored in a backpack with living matter inside.

Recalling the moment Xu Xin handed her the wristband, she shivered again.

Better return quickly!

...

Just as the giant anaconda began circling Ma Hongwei’s treehouse, Xu Xin was already considering the consequences.

Xu Xin shifted his gaze from the back of the giant anaconda to Lou Fei’Er, raising his left hand.

Lou Fei’Er’s fear of the wristband Xu Xin wore on his left hand greatly surpassed her fear of the giant anaconda. Seeing his motion, she instantly jumped back two steps in terror, ”What are you doing? I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?”

Xu Xin took off the wristband and tossed it to her, ”Catch.”

She dared not catch it but had to; she reached out with closed eyes and felt the coldness in her hand, her arm shaking.

”As long as I don’t use it, you won’t be put inside, so there’s no need to be so scared.” Xu Xin looked at her expression and felt speechless. ”This wristband can be used by anyone. You hold onto it, and if anything happens to Ma Hongwei, put him inside and bring him back.”

Slightly opening her eyes to look at the wristband she loathed in her hand, Lou Fei’Er resisted the impulse to fling it away and nodded, ”I understand.”

...

Touching the wristband in her pocket, Lou Fei’Er hurried back to Xu Xin’s main treehouse.

Following the road left by the giant anaconda, she didn’t worry about being hindered by snow.

Inside the treehouse, Xu Xin watched the giant anaconda with half its body back in the lake, relaxing temporarily.

This big fellow’s hide is indeed tough; even explosive bolts couldn’t cause significant damage.

But there was some damage, as he noticed parts of the anaconda’s scales seemed to be missing.

Was it blown away by the explosion?
