Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 392: Chapter 298: Great Upheaval, Giant Anaconda Reappears_2

Very soon, the originally menacing and fierce gaze of the mutant human gradually dimmed, and his blood-red pupils turned a dark red.

Yet, what puzzled the two of them was that he never made any move, despite being covered in wounds and blood from Xu Xin’s long spear, his eyelids didn’t even twitch, as he still widened his eyes to look at Xu Xin.

”What the hell is going on?” Xu Xin already felt a sense of urgency.

Silver King, Mimi, and Afu were still massacring behind them, and the sounds of kills and points being gained continually resonated in Xu Xin’s ears. The once pure white snow layer behind them was largely stained red.

But to the red dots on the map, what Mimi and the others killed might not even be a fraction.

”Eep!” Keke suddenly cried out, pushing Xu Xin’s cheek with her little paw, her voice tinged with a hint of fear, ”Eep eep eep!”

Simultaneously, the surrounding snow layer started to tremble, and the snow surface began to crack.

On the map, Xu Xin was surrounded by red dots on all sides; if the mutant creatures all awoke, they would be instantly surrounded!

Lou Fei’Er cautiously moved closer to Xu Xin, holding a blue-grade stone dagger in each hand.

Xu Xin glanced at the weapon in her hand.

Yes, it’s about time to upgrade her weapons.

He again looked at the mutant human before him, who was still motionless, squinted his eyes, waved his left hand, and directly stored him into his bracelet.

The bracelet isn’t only able to store contracted mutant creatures; as long as mutant creatures aren’t resisted and aren’t contracted, they can be stored inside it.

When Zhang Yin brought him out from the underground city, those wolves responsible for probing mines hadn’t been contracted, but they could still be stored in his space.

After completing all this, the surroundings changed again.

A wolf’s head suddenly emerged from the snow, with red blood patterns spread across its snowy white fur; the moment it emerged, it locked its gaze onto Xu Xin.

Possibly influenced by the pervasive scent of blood, the snow wolf had long bared its fangs, a hint of madness in its red eyes!

Xu Xin promptly shot an explosive bolt, but that snow wolf was very agile, diving back into the snow layer the moment the bolt was launched.

”Boom!”

The explosion sounded, blasting a deep hole in the snow layer, the blasted snow and water splattering onto Xu Xin’s face.

As the smoke cleared, the ground was devoid of that snow wolf, nor did he receive any kill notifications.

Upon checking the map, he suddenly discovered that the surrounding red dots had brightened significantly.

Indeed, he should have thought of it earlier. When wild beasts are wounded, the red dots representing them on the map would also dim, and vice versa.

They had reverted to their original state, naturally causing the red dots to illuminate!

This brightness has already approached that of mid-level mutant creatures!

No, there already are mid-level mutant creatures!

He sharply turned his head, seeing, about ten meters behind him, a blood-patterned snow leopard coldly staring at Xu Xin.

For some reason, its heavy body didn’t sink into the soft snow layer, but instead, stepped on top, looking as though it was treading on snow.

All the surrounding mutant creatures, also due to the earlier explosion, emerged from the snow layer.

From all directions, countless blood-red pupils were directed towards Xu Xin.

He was surrounded by mutant creatures.

And among them, there were several mid-level mutant creatures!

Xu Xin immediately took out the energy core fragment.

Instantly, all beasts exposed outside the snow layer were illuminated by the white light emitted by the energy core fragment.

Lou Fei’Er frowned again, glancing at the fragment in Xu Xin’s hand.

However, the moment he took out the core, these beasts collectively dove beneath the snow surface, all evading the light!

Only that snow leopard remained, although it seemed somewhat repulsed, it huffed threateningly at the core in Xu Xin’s hand.

...If no one was controlling them, Xu Xin would not believe it.

Faced with such a situation, Xu Xin gripped the long spear in his hand tightly, his gaze hardened, he chose...

To flee!

Of course, fleeing is the only option; only a fool would choose to fight!

He put away the core in his hand, directly embracing Lou Fei’Er, who was tense and ready to attack at any moment, beside him.

Naturally, the core needed to be put away. Because he felt that these mutant creatures under the snow seemed more dangerous than those on it.

Lou Fei’Er knew what he was up to the moment Xu Xin embraced her, her face immediately flushed with a hint of excited blush, sheathed her daggers, and tightly grasped Xu Xin’s arm as if holding onto a safety bar on a drop tower.

”Eep...” Keke also got ready.

Xu Xin pressed one foot against the ground, the other against the tree behind him, scanning the mutant creature group that had emerged from beneath the snow surface and slowly approached him.

They didn’t launch an attack but were slowly tightening their encirclement, blocking any direction for Xu Xin to escape.

Very orderly, no beast struck first, all slowly converging towards him.

However, they must not have imagined that he could escape from above!

With a vigorous push off the ground, Xu Xin, carrying Lou Fei’Er and Keke, leapt into the air!

This time, Xu Xin exerted his full force; even though carrying another person, he still instantly leaped to a height of fifty meters.

”Ah!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed excitedly, clinging tightly to Xu Xin’s arm, ”So high!”

The cold wind at the height blew harshly against his face, making him shiver involuntarily.
