Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 375: Chapter 291: It’s Snowing, Winter is Coming_3

Then their condition improved considerably, and they immediately stood up.

”Thank you!” Li Yajun said gratefully to her.

”So strong, Sister Xuefei is so strong, no wonder even the big shot Xu Xin calls her sister!” Le Youfang regained his vigor.

”Completely recovered?”

”Completely recovered, not dizzy at all!”

Qi Xuefei walked to Xu Xin’s side and handed him a bottle of medicine, ”This is for you. Help me check the capabilities of the medicine. I can’t see it all myself.”

Xu Xin took the bottle, opened the lid, and inside were many small red pills.

Xu Xin poured one out.

[Strawberry Pill (Blue): Upon consumption, it can eliminate negative states. Once made into a pill, even non-survivors can take it! No effect if a second pill is consumed within two hours.]

Strawberry?

Ah!

Strawberry!

He suddenly thought of the Strawberry (Blue), the fruit that can eliminate negative states and even make people feel joyous, akin to consuming some substance!

Isn’t the Strawberry (Blue) supposed to eliminate negative states!

”Is this a pill made from strawberries?” Xu Xin looked up at Qi Xuefei.

”Yes, blue-grade strawberries themselves don’t have much effect on the side effects of transmission, but after my processing, their ability to eliminate negatives is enhanced, although the mood-affecting capability is gone.”

”That’s just perfect.” Xu Xin placed the pill back into the small bottle. The mood-affecting side of blue-grade strawberries always felt a bit off, so this is perfect!

He explained the complete introduction of the medicine to Qi Xuefei.

”Two hours...” Qi Xuefei pondered.

”I still have some blue-grade strawberries; I’ll trade them all with you tonight.”

”That’s good. I’ll process them and share them with you. These are quite useful to survivors too.”

At this time, Li Wenxi also walked over, already decorated with snowflakes on her hair and body.

She grabbed Qi Xuefei’s arm: ”Sister Xuefei, let’s hurry and have a snowball fight! Tomorrow, there’ll be another beast tide; by then, who knows when we can do this again! Let’s seize the moment for fun!”

”Is this considered the last revelry?” Xu Xin’s lips curled into a smile.

”What! Don’t say it so unpleasantly!” Li Wenxi glared at Xu Xin, ”You should join the snowball fight too! Relax a bit. Constant tension will break you down! Oh, and call Ji Chaoyang too.”

The snow on the ground had already accumulated to a thickness of five or six centimeters. Even the bare branches of the surrounding shrubs were covered with snow.

The group was happily engaged in a snowball fight, and even the queen and the two little ones emerged from the cave to look over. Their cave was beneath the treehouse, so it wasn’t covered by snow.

Watching this scene, Xu Xin’s long-held tension gradually eased.

If things could always be like this, it wouldn’t be so bad.

He sent a voice message to Ji Chaoyang.

The call connected quickly: ”What’s up? Did something happen?”

”Come over for a snowball fight.”

”...What?”

...

After indulging himself, Xu Xin lay in bed. Beside his pillow, Keke was already sound asleep.

Everything was ready; Xu Xin had loaded four compound crossbows with explosive bolts, the battery connected to the electric grid was fully charged, and the long-unused plant heart seemed eager to test its might.

He felt as if he could sit in the treehouse enjoying hotpot and singing while leisurely waiting for the beast tide to pass.

Of course, one can’t be overly optimistic, considering there’s a large lake nearby and inside is the terrifying Lake Giant Python.

No one knew if it would appear again with this beast tide.

The local channel was a mix of joys and sorrows at that moment.

”It’s snowing! It’s snowing! This is my first time seeing snow!”

”Oh my god, the big shots from [Explorers] were right, it really is snowing!”

”Whoa? You actually doubted the big shots from [Explorers]? I just blindly trust them!”

”Oh no, it’s snowing. When will I be able to reach the big shots’ location? Only then can we survive with them....”

”Those who have already gone are really so lucky!”

”I’m guilty for doubting the big shots, but doesn’t this mean the beast tide tomorrow is real?”

”No worries, with the armor and heavy crossbows provided by the big shots, I’m bursting with confidence! I heard they’re planning to give us even more powerful weapons tomorrow?”

”Who told you that? Anything not announced by the big shots is fake news!”

”Just kidding, my friend has already provided them with weapon materials, looks like some mutant creature’s blood or something.”

With the help of Xu Xin and the others, most survivors in District 188 were already well-prepared.

He patted the head of Keke, lying beside him, then closed his eyes.

...

He was awakened by the dazzling sunlight.

Xu Xin opened his eyes, sat up from the bed, and looked out the window.

The snow had stopped.

The outside was a blinding white, and he squinted, raising his hand to block his view.

The entire jungle was covered with snow.

He got up and opened the window, a frigid wind shivered him and woke Keke up abruptly, who was lying on the bed, jumping up: ”Squeak? Squeak squeak squeak?”

Truly, winter has come.
