Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 353: Chapter 281: Subduing Le Youfang, Heading to the Special Area (4,000 words)_2

Indeed, at that time he was really friendly to Xu Xin, and just a few words from Xu Xin brought him down from the treehouse.

”I also believed what Zhang Daoguang said, thinking that we and the survivors from the outer region were in a life-and-death relationship, that’s why I acted like this. But since Sister Fei’Er, the big shot of our region, is following the big shot Xu Xin from the outer region, doesn’t that mean Zhang Daoguang is talking nonsense?” said Le Youfang, somewhat discontented. ”That guy, perhaps he just wants to prevent us from interacting with people from the outer regions and then strengthen his own power?”

His imagination is really vivid.

But, Sister Fei’Er? Xu Xin glanced at Lou Fei’Er beside him.

Seems she managed to get herself a follower.

”What’s wrong...” Lou Fei’Er saw Xu Xin looking over, and looked at him somewhat innocently.

”By the way,” she took out a treehouse seed and a core from her backpack and handed them to Xu Xin, ”These are his seed and core, for you.”

Seeing her head bowed, presenting them with both hands, Xu Xin felt like laughing. It seemed today’s five-minute space punishment from the bracelet made her quite obedient.

”You hold onto them first.” Xu Xin did not take them but asked Le Youfang, ”Do you have any special abilities?”

”Special abilities?” Le Youfang asked, confused, ”What do you mean, skills? I’m really good at being an internet troll, I’m great at pretending, does that count as a special ability?”

Seems he doesn’t have any special abilities, probably just an ordinary person like Li Yajun.

Since he doesn’t have special abilities, he won’t stay here; I’ll hand him over to Li Wenxi to go mining. Over there, including her, there are only two women, greatly lacking manpower.

Xu Xin immediately made a teleportation badge for Le Youfang and handed it to him.

”What’s this?” Le Youfang curiously examined the badge, ”It even has my name and portrait? Dog tag? Am I a warrior now!”

The ”dog tag” he mentioned is, of course, not the tag a dog wears, but a nickname for a military ID tag.

”What are you thinking? This is a teleportation badge...” Lou Fei’Er paused mid-sentence, turned to Xu Xin, ”You don’t want me to take him to Li Wenxi, do you...”

”Teleportation badge?” Le Youfang was a bit dazed.

”Exactly.” Xu Xin nodded, ”Hand over the seed and core to Li Wenxi, then go and help her immediately.”

”Ah...” Lou Fei’Er felt somewhat defeated, ”Teleport again...”

”I’ll go with you, hold on.”

He wanted to go north of Li Wenxi’s treehouse, to that special area, to target those stronger vines—not only do they yield more points, but also more vine sap.

Moreover, Li Wenxi’s treehouse is closer to the edge of the protective zone. His treehouse’s protective zone spans nine kilometers after the defense battle, and planting banyan trees further expanded the roots, much closer compared to Li Wenxi’s, which is only six kilometers.

However, the vines there are strong enough to momentarily invade the protective zone’s interior and attack, so he had to bring Mimi and Afu.

Xu Xin grabbed the vine roots and entered the treehouse.

He didn’t smelt the copper ore himself; his furnace efficiency is really low. Maybe half an hour for one copper ore smelting; he doesn’t have that leisure time to wait for the copper ore to come out.

Furthermore, it can’t be upgraded or produce more output.

All handed over to Li Wenxi to smelt, so when he returns, he can directly obtain copper blocks and check their effect.

Xu Xin first sent a voice message to Li Wenxi, explaining the situation, and traded the copper ore to her.

”Copper ore? And new manpower? I can’t accept the trade now as I’m outside, heading back right now!” Li Wenxi exclaimed excitedly.

Even though she wasn’t comfortable managing people from the outer region, since Xu Xin brought them, she felt there’d be no issue and readily accepted.

Xu Xin brought Mimi and Afu down.

The two mutated creatures naturally startled Le Youfang, leaving him speechless.

”Let’s go.” Xu Xin led them to the coordinates, activating the teleportation gate.

Before Le Youfang could react, Xu Xin pushed him into the teleportation gate, and with a shout of surprise, he disappeared.

They followed suit, stepping inside.

Xu Xin stepped in last, so when he set foot on the ground, there were people passed out all around.

Though dizzy, Le Youfang’s shock was so intense that he sat up from the ground: ”Where is this... Teleportation badge... was that a teleport gate just now? Ugh...”

”Remember not to lose the badge, otherwise you won’t be able to teleport.” Xu Xin pointed to the badge in his hand.

”Got it, got it! Ugh...” Le Youfang clutched the badge tightly, then fell back onto the ground.

”Whimper!” Keke, who had been lying on Silver King’s back, jumped down and started scurrying between the people and beasts on the ground.

A few minutes later, Li Wenxi returned, riding her Aniu.

”Wow, more people and creatures down!” Li Wenxi hurried over to help Lou Fei’Er to her feet.

”Ugh... Wenxi... I’m here to help you mine...” Despite feeling unwell, Lou Fei’Er managed a smile for Li Wenxi and handed her the treehouse seed and core, pointing to Le Youfang sitting on the ground, ”These are his treehouse seed and core.”

... It’s time to build a small cabin here to cultivate the red mist flower. This prolonged recovery after each teleportation is really a nuisance.

Li Wenxi noticed Le Youfang on the ground: ”This is the new partner? Haven’t planted a treehouse yet, why not plant it on your side.”

”Better for you to take it.” Xu Xin shook his head.

He’s planning to only accept survivors with special abilities over there; even those without abilities must be exceptionally strong, each one bound by his contract.

Le Youfang is best suited as a labor force.

”Alright, I’ll take him in.” Li Wenxi didn’t dwell on it, ”Hold on, I’ll go plant the treehouse first!”

Soon, the side effects faded, and Li Wenxi planted Le Youfang’s treehouse not far from Li Yajun’s treehouse, then returned to store resources, bringing back the nitre she had just mined.

”This teleportation array is just too powerful, District 188 is unbeatable!” Le Youfang was lively again, eyes gleaming, ”Sister Fei’Er, I’m really grateful you brought me here!”

”See, from here on out... oh wait, you’ll follow the master and mistress and work well, you’ll live very comfortably.” Lou Fei’Er patted Le Youfang on the shoulder.

”Mistress? The mistress is who we just saw...”

”Exactly, from now on you’ll be mining with the mistress.”

”Master’s got great luck! I love mining!”

Xu Xin shook his head: ”Just call me Brother Xin, stop with ’master,’ you haven’t signed a contract with me. You’re Wenxi’s person now, not mine.”

”Brother Xin is awesome! Long live Brother Xin!”

Li Wenxi swung down from the treehouse, seeing everyone was fine, she said to Xu Xin: ”I’ve already smelted the copper ore you gave me; it takes around five minutes per piece. When you return, there will be plenty! I’ll take them now, you be careful too; the mutated creatures there are dangerous.”

”Don’t worry, with Mimi and Afu this time, there won’t be any issues.” Xu Xin was confident in Mimi and Afu’s capabilities.

The Silver King, being a canine, primarily attacks by biting, which is quite limited. Though it’s excellent as a mount, it’s not ideal against vines.

In contrast, Mimi and Afu are much more agile; one can use paws and mouth, the other uses sound. There’s no issue hunting the vines which haven’t reached the intermediate mutation level.

”Alright, then I’m relieved. Everyone, come with me, let’s go mine nitre!”

”Mining!” Le Youfang was excited, not at all downcast as a prisoner.

Lou Fei’Er quickly embraced Li Wenxi’s arm, showing closeness.

Xu Xin mounted the wolf’s back, stroked Keke’s big tail, and headed north.

Mimi immediately followed, carrying Afu.

A person and four beasts swiftly navigated through the jungle, and soon they reached the edge of the protected area.

”Whimper!” Keke pushed Xu Xin with a small paw, signaling they could no longer go forward, as ahead lay the danger zone.

Alright then, let’s start hunting!
