Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Lansendel answered blankly, ”Hill, let’s not worry about whether this thing has any seeds or not.

The most important thing right now is that I still haven’t been able to contact myself.”

Hill’s eyes blinked rapidly, and he couldn’t help but point at the giant screen, ”Ah? Then this...”

”My avatar is also restricted.” Celene furrowed her brows tightly, her eyes fixed on the giant screen, ”The Pool of Life seems to have some method to block our Divine Power.

But, he might not understand how to use that camera, nor comprehend how it transmits messages, so it wasn’t sealed.

Ah~ these guys from the old man’s era, they’re so outdated and out of touch, they don’t understand anything new.

No wonder they’re outdated every year.”

”He can even be outdated by the God of Order, do you expect him to know anything?” Shaer smiled lightly, ”What he knows to guard against are all things the God of Order has used on him.

Ha~ the settings of the Master of Time and Space that I can’t even understand to this day, probably something the Pool of Life hasn’t even heard of!”

Her tone seemed a bit proud, and Hill, who was sitting there still a bit dejected, couldn’t control his thoughts.

So, having heard this, Celene spoke with ill intent, ”Since when have you become like Teraxil?

What’s with the arrogance?”

Shaer tilted her head, ”I’ll always be the Lady of the Night in Toril, if that’s the sneaky, secretive question you’ve been trying to explore recently, then of course I can seriously answer you.

Can’t I be proud?

The things you all laboriously work for, what you strive to obtain, are things I can get just by opening my mouth.

The Master of Time and Space is still helping me create a better item... one that can utilize the entire Shadow Realm to transmit messages.

I no longer need to rely on the shadow net taken by the Weave to lead my followers!

I think that’s the thing you’ve truly wanted to know recently.

What’s the matter?

Did Mask send out some ambiguous news, and now you’re anxious?

Ha~

What you’re afraid of is not that William taught me the way to manage the Undead Tribe, right?

I can tell you, I indeed have a new network of information, so what?

What’s it got to do with you?”

Um... Hill couldn’t help but ponder Shaer’s motives for saying these words... clearly, she let Mask slip through the cracks again.

Otherwise, Shaer would never reveal such a big secret.

Every time she seemed like a big mouth, it was actually after the information had been leaked.

But sometimes, Hill also can’t be sure whether it’s Mask being too skilled or Shaer secretly letting things slip.

Like this time, Hill is quite suspicious.

Mask is indeed always a bastard, not just deceiving outsiders, but also his own people... upon realizing Shaer didn’t intend to ingest him, his reaction was absolutely not to be honest afterward.

But rather, to feel safe and hurry to mess around~

Perhaps it’s Shaer leaving all her rebellious spirit to this thief in the shadows?

But, Hill is more trusting of Shaer’s Control Power over the Shadow Realm.

Although over time, various factors would lead to cracks starting in the Shadow Realm... just imagine, when mages use Shadow Magic or even set up Shadow Barriers, where exactly do they retrieve such pure Shadow Force from.

Shaer always being annoyed with mages isn’t completely incomprehensible.

On top of that, you have Cyric, who likes to dig holes everywhere; ultimately, the Shadow Realm will inevitably need Shaer to do some patching up.

But, not now.

In the recently restored complete Shadow Realm, Shaer’s control power must be exceptionally strong.

So, she deliberately displayed her soon-to-be-launched new communication channel for everyone to see.

Hill glanced at Shaer... Lady of the Night, is she probing AO?

He couldn’t quite ponder it.

Yet Hill, who still has the leisure to think about these things, is facing far more distinct seriousness from Celene and Lansendel.

The two of them, always confident.

But now, what the God of Time and Space-created Strange Objects can do, their avatars, even the powerful ones, yet haven’t struggled free... this leaves both Celene and Lansendel displeased.

Therefore, as Shaer’s rumor-laden words floated around, Lansendel paid no mind, and Celene... even though she listened to the entire thing, she didn’t take it to heart.

Lansendel, to begin with, didn’t really care about those matters.

Due to being rejected by mainstream society, while mainstream society’s young people loved to secretly worship him, even if the Dawn Towers scattered worldwide were positioned in marginal areas, his message transmission was still quick.

Moreover, the Dawn Stone itself had the function of conveying messages to him... although it could only deliver very short messages without going through the Weave, this counted as a unique communication system for the Dawn Believers.

As for the system the God of Time and Space gave to Shaer, whether it has some hidden methods, or even allowing Shaer’s followers to be as orderly and combative as the Undead Tribe, Lansendel really didn’t care much.

How should I put it... in Lansendel’s heart, as long as Shaer is truly with William, she won’t use the help provided by her lover to destroy the world.

That person is the God of Justice and Fairness, famously protective of civilians.

Although he might not care very much about the lives of Toril’s common people, he wouldn’t want their death knell to sound because of him.

Shaer would never joke about her once-in-a-lifetime love, even if she went crazy over such trivial matters.

Lansendel quite believes this.

Put oneself in others’ shoes, if it were him, he would cherish it too!

Who knows if there will be such good luck in the future.

And if those two fall out, hey~ given how the God of Time and Space can quietly associate with those guys from the Greek Gods, it’s clear that this one is quite the old schemer.

It’s unlikely he doesn’t have means to counter Shaer.

Thus, Lansendel doesn’t care at all if Shaer gains more means in the future... if it’s just some intrigue, it basically has nothing to do with him and his devotees.

Logically, the unluckiest should be the Silvermoon Devotees.

But Celene actually doesn’t care much.

Even though she is diametrically opposed to the Followers of the Night, her devotees are primarily defensive.

Only the kind of strong beings equivalent to demigods like the High Priest of the Silvermoon would initiate an attack... for such beings, all intrigues are futile.

When you think about it, in every faith war between them, it’s always the devotees of others who end up dead.

As for the communication system... is there anything more convenient than the Weave that contains her Silverfire?

In this respect, Celene is the one calmly managing the situation.

Regarding the deeper things Lansendel considers, Celene basically doesn’t consider them... her intuition has long told her that the new thing Shaer is playing with isn’t very threatening.

Compared to the latter part about Shaer, Celene is most concerned about her first sentence.

No way, she’d never thought that Shaer, who had held such a persistent grudge against Toril for so many years, would one day naturally regard a deity from another world as one of her own.

It makes Celene very uncomfortable.

She feels she might be abandoned.

But she can’t quite figure out what she’s actually thinking... anyway, since Shaer said so, she is satisfied.

Therefore, the focus of Celene and Lansendel is actually on another incarnation of themselves within the Pool of Life.

Whichever it is, now they all hope to connect with that self as quickly as possible.

This urgent emotion makes even Celene unable to resist clenching her hands, sincerely cheering for the God of Order for the first time in her life.

Hurry, make another crack.

Though there are only four people in the hall, their sorrows and joys are completely different.

Hill’s eyes are tightly fixed on the flowers and trees there.

Even though Lansendel says these plants are likely illusory realms or positive energy amalgams created from life energy without reproductive ability, he always feels it’s not entirely so.

Even through the screen, Hill couldn’t possibly fail to distinguish plants from illusory realms.

As for whatever positive energy crystallization, that thing definitely wouldn’t give him such a desired feeling.

Although Hill likes pure creatures, he absolutely doesn’t like those singular white crystals.

The difference with natural life is just too great.

”Ah~” Lansendel suddenly yelled, ”I’ve made contact.

Hmm?

Turns out that thing wasn’t beside me!

No wonder it didn’t move.

I threw it to a clearer part of the scenery when I entered... most of the Pool of Life is covered in white fog.

Can’t see a thing.”

The previously stagnant grand screen suddenly began to move.

It seems Lansendel has found the camera and started moving with it.

”So, is the fog gone now?” Hill asked softly.

”With another crack, the fog will thin out a bit.” Lansendel replied warmly, ”But Hill, your judgment on plants is really sharp!

Indeed, there are some real plants among those flowers and grass.

Let me see if there are any seeds worth collecting.”

Hill smiled with delight: ”Really? That’s great!”

”Why not bring back those flowers and grass?” Celene asked puzzled.

Lansendel looked at her with a little bit of helplessness in his eyes: ”You’re telling the child of the World Tree how to remove a plant that will die once it leaves its soil?

Hill wants new plants, not new herbs.

He would never, for his selfish desire, harm plants that surely possess intelligence.”

”Those plants inside aren’t moving at all~ where’s the intelligence?” Celene retorted.

”You...” Lansendel looked at her with incredulity in his eyes, ”Are you only using your eyes to see?

All those flowers and grass with plant vibes clearly avoid us!”

Shaer coldly remarked, ”Do you expect her to see with her heart? You’re thinking too much.”
