Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”Indeed, which mother spider would ever lose track of her little spider hanging on the threads of her web?” Celene said without hesitation, expressing what Shaer left unsaid.

Even if Shaer dislikes someone, she doesn’t appreciate making excessively venomous remarks in public... the only one who can push her to that point is indeed Celene herself.

Her sarcasm is always mild... usually, she gets straight to the point without wasting emotions.

Insulting others, wouldn’t that also stir one’s own emotions?

Nevertheless, Celene, who rarely settles scores after the fact, generally resolves issues face-to-face.

After all, if she doesn’t handle it then, she might forget later.

And Lansendel, well, he stands between the two... he wouldn’t bother with minor issues, but for major ones, he clings to them relentlessly, constantly recalling the past.

As for Rose, for these three to remember her, well, that’s an accomplishment in its own right, isn’t it?

Lansendel flapped his wings, a hint of shrewdness appearing on his bird-like face: ”So, where is Rose’s web headed?

Celene, since you’re in there, you surely know... wait, why are you at the top level?

How did those Gods of Order manage to let you in?”

”Huh?” Celene looked at him, puzzled, ”They’ve opened the door for angels so many times!

I can enter anytime!”

”She is the Primordial Light.” Shaer wasn’t too surprised, ”Though there’s a slight difference, when she transforms into light, it’s quite similar to the illumination emanating from condensed Positive Energy.

If it were a purely Positive Energy Plane, she wouldn’t get in so easily... but the Gods of Order, to make it more comfortable for themselves, added a bit of their own essence in there.”

Lansendel could understand this; his bird beak clicked twice before emitting a sharp laugh: ”Are you referring to the so-called power of order?

The power of order that allows Celene’s light to easily blend in?

Truly, how... interesting.”

Hill quietly touched his throat... he was silenced once again.

Why shouldn’t he speak about Asmodeus wanting to resurrect his wife?

In the eyes of many who know of this, is the Lord of Hell just pretending, instead of genuinely wanting to... get things done?

So, this world’s strange situation, is it Asmodeus’s deliberate attempt to confuse others?

No, after careful consideration, Hill concluded... if it weren’t for that wasteful girl, the Lord of Hell’s schemes for this world would still be quite successful.

At worst, he’d find that the mess created by Glaysia can’t be salvaged for future use, but prior to that, Asmodeus was seriously trying to use this world to stabilize Bisozeya’s Soul and increase her strength as she was about to be resurrected.

But to accomplish it so effortlessly, he must surely be a skilled craftsman.

So, presumably over the years, he’s made quite a few real and fake moves... thus, when Fengo appeared indifferent to Glaysia’s sabotage, it was understandable.

Who told Asmodeus not to reveal his true intentions!

Hill cocked his head, thinking he didn’t have any need to speak, so he decided to be a mere listener for now... the lives lost of deities and demons alike make no difference to him, for the moment.

Celene pondered... her brows and nose wrinkled together, and she uncertainly said: ”That’s a web of light and dark.

The visible one is clearly targeting the circular hall at the center.

The hidden one... is somewhat odd, it’s everywhere.

It seems to be weaving a real spider web... trying to lock down all areas.”

Celene gestured with her hand... sketching the pattern of a spider web in the air.

Hill lowered his gaze slightly: he remembered, that Pool of Life is alive.

That pool could randomly appear in any corner of the top-level plane... it would also go where there are structures, but it would never show itself.

Then, even if it manifested in an open space, it would blend reality and illusion... disappearing instantly if encountering an unfavorable aura.

In the beginning, when it had little resistance, the Life Energy it accumulated could still be taken and used by the Gods of Order, but as Heavenly Mountain grew stronger, even though he still couldn’t resist their control, he could choose to remain as elusive as possible.

This, of course, was also an act of self-preservation... those Puppet Angels were also primarily composed of his Life Energy.

So, regardless of whether Asmodeus’s direct strike could succeed this time, for the Pool of Life, it was a form of release.

Even if it meant sending out the Energy Baryte it had accumulated over millions of years, it was indeed a great thing.

After all, if Asmodeus wants to enter that Pool of Life, he must first break the Divine Power Shackles that the Gods of Order have locked on the Pool of Life.

Then, this Pool of Life sealed on the topmost layer of the Heavenly Mountain can flow through every layer of the Heavenly Mountain according to its will... And not every deity residing in the Heavenly Mountain can be controlled by the God of Order.

They want to search people’s homes, which is absolutely impossible... The other side will resist.

As long as they can’t silence them, the Gods of Order absolutely do not dare to make a move.

Once their faction deviates, then... why bother finding the Pool of Life?

Hill suddenly tilted his head... So, if the Lord of Hell really succeeds, those puppet angels probably can’t be born again, right?

Then, wouldn’t the Heavenly Mountain no longer have truly Positive Energy angels?

If these Gods of Order didn’t choose to make these angels who obey them completely explode to death... Unfortunately, there’s no ”if”.

They never expected that Asmodeus, as the Lord of Hell, would have his main target as the Gods of Order, whose Pool of Life has already lost its value to him personally. This time, they’re going to suffer a big loss.

Hill glanced at the giant screen twice, where a God of Order with a long platinum beard, dressed in a platinum robe, and looking solemn, was condemning Asmodeus for being shameless and unprincipled.

Even Celene, who was discussing Rose’s target, couldn’t help but turn her head and stare at him for a moment: ”Hey~ Shaer.

That guy talking nonsense, isn’t he the fool who signed the Hell dwelling agreement with Asmodeus back then?

Could it be, he really thinks doing that was helping Asmodeus?

Who doesn’t know that they threw the battle angels out of the Heavenly Mountain just because they thought they were getting uglier?

Doesn’t he know what kind of nonsense he’s written in that damn agreement?”

”The Gods of Order always have rules in what they do.” Shaer replied blandly, ”He must be sure he followed his own rules.”

Celene blinked wildly... she didn’t quite understand.

”Can you speak in a way that people can understand?” After hesitating for a few seconds, Celene still spoke up.

”If you’re human, you can still understand what I’m saying.” Shaer replied softly, ”What I mean is, he must first deceive himself into thinking it’s a correct rule before he can take it out for others to sign.”

”Oh... isn’t it just deceiving yourself, and then pretending to believe it?

That, I understand~

But... can even Gods of Order do that?

But, why do I feel like you’re insulting me?” Celene shook her head, ”Forget it, you scold me every day anyway.

Not understanding is rather good, talk about it next time, next time.”

Her cheeky smile of ”not understanding is right” made Hill deeply understand why Shaer wanted to eliminate her so much.

It’s okay to see once or twice, but seeing it for hundreds of thousands of years... when there’s affection it can barely be called cute, without it, it’s called seeking death.

Hill focused his gaze on the giant screen: although Celene mixed in, she probably didn’t dare get too close.

Although Shaer and they exaggerated their words, everyone understood, the Gods of Order were definitely not that simple.

Just like the consensus Hill reached with these few before: this group of old guys just wanted to seize this opportunity to cut all ties with the Lord of Hell.

After all, it was they who let Asmodeus into Hell.

Although the entanglement was little, there was still that bit of a relationship.

So, all these years, the Heavenly Mountain has become a joke because of what the King of Angels did... Before that, the Gods of Order were synonymous with wisdom and power.

Of course, the main reason is that Asmodeus was no longer someone they could deal with at will.

After this Lord of Hell became a deity, the Gods of Order’s past tricks of delay and bad habits all lost their meaning.

So, they are willing to pay this huge price... as long as the Lord of Hell is sneaking in.

Unfortunately, dreaming too beautifully, their heads are too rigid.

Everyone has calculations within calculations, yet, the Gods of Order this time, truly calculated too much and ended up calculating themselves away.

”The spider web has taken shape.” Celene softly murmured.

Although Shaer seemed eager to hit her, she just moved slightly in her seat, allowing this Silvermoon Maiden to focus on the giant screen.

She knew Celene well.

Although the matters of the Heavenly Mountain are quite important, if they start a fight... Celene might just give up on that side.

This guy’s focus has always been willful.

And although Rose’s target for weaving the spider web was not very certain to her, one thing was very clear: the time for war is near.
