Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Of course it’s him, Lansendel.

As long as there’s this one reason, that fool Amanata will obediently follow AO’s will.

If he truly believes that Lansendel’s dream is to become the new Sun God, Amanata definitely wouldn’t give up on anything that could hold back Lansendel.

But would Lansendel be afraid of a Light God?

He doesn’t care at all if anyone can shine brightly for him on Toril.

The reason he has so many followers has never been because of his light attribute, but because of his nature.

The followers Lansendel desires are not the ones who only seek light from him... perhaps in the past he didn’t understand his own thoughts, but in that chaotic world, he finally realized it.

That kind of faith, desperate and even a bit frenzied, makes him tremble with disgust when touched... it feels a bit dirty.

No, maybe that’s not the right way to put it.

Although Lansendel has always been indifferent, he doesn’t despise the survival instincts that struggle for life, yet... how to say, he still can’t bring himself to accept those kinds of followers.

To him, that chaotic world indeed could serve as his last lifeline, but as long as there’s a possibility, he wouldn’t want to stay permanently.

However, occasionally looking at it makes him quite happy... it truly is a world full of surprises at any moment.

Even watching the scenery doesn’t require going out; he can switch views at any time while sitting at home.

Their homes aren’t even fixed to the ground... They are mostly large crystal balls of various colors that are windproof, waterproof, and earthquake-proof.

Correspondingly, the materials of that world are particularly interesting.

It was the first time Lansendel saw what was called flowing building materials... before they set into shape, those materials were in a state of change.

But once they set into shape, it’s difficult to change them with any spell or external force.

Even his master architect Chosens couldn’t control their desire, packing countless inspirations and heading to Quince.

Of course, they didn’t go for nothing.

That little girl from the Hill Family was very fond of their wild ideas.

She even allowed them to use her resources to build freely on her territory... and she didn’t mind the behavior of the Dawn Believers at all.

Nor did she care that the Dawn Tower would take a part of the faith from her land.

Lansendel quite liked that little girl... if not for seeing a trace of Celene in her.

He’d also met Agleya and those plant friends of Hill, including the Little Golden Dragon well taken care of by Hill... all quite normal!

Even that half-elf Lynn with a hint of chaos, though his baseline and thoughts are somewhat peculiar, still isn’t... mercurial and detached like moonlight.

Lansendel really couldn’t figure out how a character like Hill could raise a girl like Alice!

It’s too strange.

He somewhat suspected whether this girl belonged to some unspeakable past of Teraxil... He even inquired about Alice’s story from the Undead Tribe later.

A spirit of nature with cat attributes falling in love with a Magical Beast?

As someone intricately linked with Fate and beaten a few times, the Lord of Dawn had a deep understanding of these sudden mutations.

Basically, an ancient remnant.

Just like his lover Tai Ji, even if she truly fell, she split into the Goddess of Luck and the Goddess of Misfortune instead of complete disappearance.

Although this outcome was even more cruel for Lansendel...one is Tai Ji’s face, the other is Tai Ji’s brain.

However, the one with the face is heartless and brainless.

The one with the brain... is cruel and narrow-hearted.

Every time he sees those two, Lansendel feels an impulse to make them disappear entirely.

In short, Lansendel somewhat suspected that Alice was also such an existence.

Otherwise, with Hill’s motherly personality, it’s impossible to raise such a child, nor allow her to venture into other worlds.

Even a few-hundred-year-old elf like Lynn, Hill would still constantly care!

But from his observation in Quince, Hill genuinely didn’t interfere with Alice’s endeavors... clearly trusting that she could handle everything herself.

Heh~ Alice indeed handled it very well.

At least in Lansendel’s view, she was definitely no worse than that Mystra’s Chosen, Xinbu... both queens in the Mortal World, Lansendel could only think of this somewhat chaotic fellow like Alice at the moment.

However, even though Hill knew he was in Quince, she never nagged about the girl’s actions in front of him, making Lansendel realize this matter was quite complex!

So, he simply chose to turn a blind eye.

Yet, despite doing nothing, that Queen Alice was very friendly to him... therefore, Lansendel always felt that Hill’s daughter somewhat resembled Celene.

She appears silly, but in reality, she’s well-aware.

But such people can only be admired from afar... her friendliness doesn’t guarantee your well-being.

But yes, looking at those around Hill, it’s clear that ordinary people aren’t by his side... or rather, given Hill’s unique fate, anyone who could exist around him unaffected by such immense presence couldn’t possibly be normal.

Hill sometimes gives him a sensation similar to Tai Ji... yet Lansendel is certain, this child has no connection with Fate.

Entities related to Fate cannot be hidden from the eyes of Deities.

After all, they too fear inescapable Fate.

Some Gods, before embarking on that doomed path, are well aware of seeing that day.

But, whether they resist or go with the flow, the outcome is always the same, only the process differs.

Though there are lucky ones who found that path to survival... but that path already existed in the tributary of Fate, and the Gods who can find that path are indeed very few.

Lansendel ultimately gave up pursuing Hill’s identity, after all, this one’s background is no secret, including his close connection with Teraxil’s Goddess of the Earth.

Even though their intertwined fates have individualized into their forms, they mutually influence each other.

But this, only a powerful being born naturally and deeply integrated with their Laws like Lansendel can see.

He leisurely sat on a tree branch, swinging his long legs, contemplating Amanata.

This guy, even with a mouthful of nonsense, if left talking, could he dig up something?

For instance, who gave him the confidence that he would surely deal with Lansendel?
