Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Lansendel casually slapped him again: ”How about you wait until you’re powerful again before talking this kind of crap?”

Unless Amanata can think of some special trick during this long slumber, the spells he clings to from the past don’t scare Lansendel in the slightest!

”Ahhhhh!” Amanata roared in fury, ”Lansendel! Do you think I will always be this weak?”

”You better not threaten me,” Lansendel responded with a grin. ”You know me; sometimes, even if it means getting myself into trouble, I won’t back down.

What?

You think just because AO wants to use you, you’ll definitely succeed?

He only wants to use you; he doesn’t have to use you.

You guess, is he willing, for something like you, to be targeted by me?

Even though I’m not as bored as I used to be... But, stirring up a bit of fun, well, it’s not impossible, right?”

Amanata suddenly realized: ”You? What are you talking about?

AO...

Wait, what’s wrong with this world, no, this sun?”

He wasn’t really stupid, just blinded by self-interest, losing the ability to think.

But he knew the Lord of Dawn very well... after all, they were born one after another, both because of the emergence of the sun.

Some things, although Lansendel disagreed with his ways, he wouldn’t have been so ruthless today... This was already humiliating him!

Lansendel... although Amanata never wanted to admit it, this guy was indeed more forthright than him.

And, he liked Toril more than he did.

Unlike Amanata, he was actually quite indifferent to Toril... he himself had once suspected whether it was the influence of the Eternal Flame being taken away from his homeland.

Most importantly, Lansendel indeed had a distant and even vaguely antagonistic relationship with AO, but this guy wouldn’t easily go against AO’s will without the power to resist.

Unless this matter would cause great harm to Toril.

Although AO was accustomed to using others to create chaos in Toril, he still maintained the dignity and image of a Creator God on the surface... the bad deeds were done by others; he was only forced to clean up the mess.

So AO would never do anything openly that would bring great disaster to Toril.

Nor would he protect Amanata.

Amanata had revealed his true form now!

Although AO would jump in at the last moment to save his life, or let some people intervene, but... what about his outcome?

Severely injured, barely surviving?

More importantly, if this disaster was brought back by Amanata himself... then what would he become?

Amanata gently dispelled the trump card he’d gathered in his hand.

Lansendel’s gaze flickered, casting a glance at Amanata’s right hand... this test had not gone wrong; Amanata surely was hiding something.

Although that thing had just formed, Lansendel still felt a sense of threat.

So, Amanata, indeed, didn’t sleep in vain all this time... really interesting, was he forging his War Artifact in his dreams?

Although Lansendel had heard that those deities drifting in the Stellar Realm, if a fragment of their soul remained, they would enter their own dreams. Though they couldn’t be overwhelmingly powerful like when alive, they could survive like mortals.

After all, they didn’t need to eat, didn’t need to drink, and could think about things from the past.

But many fallen deities, if they couldn’t resurrect continuously, couldn’t bear that life of staying in one place day after day.

They would continue sleeping in the Dream Realm.

But there was also a legend that if they fell into a deep sleep in the Dream Realm, they would completely lose contact with the outside world... meaning even if that bit of their divine soul remained, they couldn’t be reached.

Then, their immortal divine bodies drifting in the Stellar Realm would gradually disappear, becoming a source of energy in the Stellar Realm.

And their divine souls, though still there, would become natives of the Dream Realm.

By the time they awoke, they would have forgotten all of their past.

As for when they could wake up in the Dream Realm, well, no one knew.

They knew these things from the lucky deities who resurrected before their willpower was exhausted, or those who could maintain their sobriety no matter how boring it got in the Dream Realm.

And that so-called Dream Realm, only those deities who seemed utterly destroyed but still harbored hope of recovery could enter... Shaer seemed to have looked for that mysterious existence but found no trace.

Lansendel tilted his head and couldn’t help but ask: ”You actually stayed awake in the Dream Realm?

Amanata, since when have you had such willpower?”

Amanata snorted coldly... although Lansendel was using insults to wake him from being blinded by self-interest, he was too excessive with it!

If there was anyone else here, he wouldn’t have let Lansendel off easily!

But, since no mortals were watching, he would let it slide this time.

After all, using his newly learned trump card on Lansendel’s avatar would be too much of a waste.

His future enemies were not the likes of Lansendel, who despite his excesses, still held back.

AO wants to use him... then he shouldn’t think of discarding him after he’s used!

”The Dream Realm is only boring to deities without any capacity for thought.” He pondered for a few seconds and decided to answer Lansendel’s question first... Amanata knew very well that if Lansendel’s doubt wasn’t resolved, he would never reveal the truth. ”If you have something you want to do, waking up is quite easy.

However, thoughts like ’I want to be resurrected,’ ’I want revenge,’ or ’What will I do in the future’ are not permissible.

Instead, technical approaches, even researching magic models, are feasible.

I feel that place, rather than being a Dream Realm, is more like the ultimate resting place of spirituality.

There, inspiration is easily sparked.”

”Hmm? Does that mean, mages in the Dream Realm...?”

”There are no mages in the Dream Realm.” Amanata responded decisively. ”They haven’t yet become true existences, and they are slowly growing at the very bottom of the Stellar Realm.

For now, they can only absorb more refined spirituality.

And the bottom of the Stellar Realm is a graveyard for deities; mages simply cannot enter.”

Lansendel furrowed his brow: ”How can you be sure?

Can you see your own neighbors?”

”The Dream Realm puts us in small light orbs.” Amanata answered succinctly, ”You can’t see what’s inside the other orbs.

When I was resurrected, I saw a little bit.

But very soon, I was kicked out of the Stellar Realm; as for the rest, I don’t know.”

Lansendel suddenly chuckled: ”What reflection did you have that led you to research weapons there?”

Amanata gave a cold laugh: ”Only enough power, along with at least the readiness for mutual destruction, can prevent becoming a scapegoat.”

It seems he has always been disgruntled about being abandoned by the Toril people.

Or rather, he doesn’t at all consider the fall of Naish’s floating cities to be an inevitable event.

The energy of the floating cities, Naish’s energy core, should originally have nothing to do with the Weave.

Amanata seems to believe AO was meddling behind the scenes.

Lansendel, of course, doesn’t think so... The floating city fell not because the Naish energy core lost energy, but due to disturbances in the primordial energy.

Amanata didn’t experience the subsequent a few times of the demise of the Goddess of Magic, which is why he says such things... No, it’s possible that this guy isn’t unaware but merely feigns ignorance.

Just as Amanata understands him, Lansendel also understands this Sun God very well.

To some extent, even Ambori has more dignity than him.

No, it should be said that Amanata always convinces himself it’s a normal action before doing anything shameless... all abnormalities are due to others’ scheming.

Ambori would still say it’s her own choice!

Otherwise, Ata’s appearance wouldn’t be cursed as a whore... Ambori is merely a shrew.

Isn’t that thing just the most reckless Amanata?

So, after carefully reviewing his failure process, does Amanata place all blame for his failures on AO kicking him while he’s down?

Lansendel smirked... forget it, if AO is willing to resurrect him, then naturally he would bear this injustice.

It has nothing to do with him.

After all, Amanata’s overly congested brain has finally cooled down, and he can at last listen to what he has to say about the issue with the sun.

Lansendel hadn’t spoken up before not because he didn’t want to, but because it was pointless.

Telling such a person that the money about to reach his hands is dirty would only make him suspect you’re trying to steal his money.

Only when he discovers for himself that taking the money will get him afflicted with a plague will he obediently listen to you.

Lansendel glanced at Amanata, who was completely unconcerned about the Fire Element Lord brawling with a certain Water Elemental Goddess over there: ”You’re not concerned about what’s happening over there?”

”That’s the Water Elemental Goddess.” Amanata said with an unchanging expression, ”Kashus will either be doused back to the Fire Element Realm or burn that water into steam.

Otherwise, he would absolutely not stop.

Of course, if our matters conclude here and he’s still not done, I’ll give him a hand.

But for now, I’m more interested in what’s wrong with this sun.

Don’t worry about my friendship with Kashus, we know each other very well.”

Lansendel’s lips twitched stiffly... what the heck is all this!

-----------------

”I find Lansendel really sharp!

Despite causing so much trouble normally!

Ah, right, by saying this, isn’t he once again turning AO into the big villain?

Though it indeed is... but... hmm... something seems off?”

Looking at the giant screen, Celene issued a heartfelt sigh.

Hill didn’t know what Shaer’s mood was, but he certainly felt a myriad of emotions.

Does the Silvermoon Maiden even know what she’s saying?
