Surviving The Fourth Calamity

For Shaer, light and justice mean nothing, as long as it’s not related to Toril, it doesn’t concern her.

Although she regards darkness as her eternal protective net, Toril is her true home.

It’s fine as long as her home is peaceful and harmonious, who cares how people sing and dance outside... even if it’s square dancing, as long as it’s not happening under her window, she’d rather relax with her eyes closed, too lazy to watch.

But if AO is involved, it can never be unrelated to Toril.

That old fellow, actually he’s the old silver coin that Lansendel never mentioned, how could he get involved in such a big affair without grabbing benefits for himself?

The three from Greece, can only be seen as incidental freebies, definitely not something he planned to obtain from the start.

Of course, it might not be a matter of acquiring things.

Anyway, in the end, it all depends on the development over at the Pool of Life... the chaos in the meeting hall battle makes Shaer want to suggest this group of devils and demons learn some strategic positioning from the Undead Tribe.

She never thought that the Undead could be so organized, at least their formations are excellent, and when fighting, they don’t end up setting fire on their own people.

Especially when their target is so large.

Of course, Shaer also knows that the Undead Tribe usually suggests that those who aren’t accurate enough in aiming, should learn support or healing professions.

Or simply learn area-of-effect spells.

After all, they just can’t aim precisely, not that they don’t aim at all.

When the enemy is rather large, such inaccuracies can be ignored.

Of course, if both sides end up entangled, those who can’t aim well are ordered by their comrades to stop... like that ’Snow Cloud Peak’ commander.

Although covered in dazzling jewels and with perfect equipment, that Archmage who enjoys playing with Ice Magic is really somewhat ineffective in terms of lethality.

But even so, that ’Snow Cloud Peak,’ at least aims for the head but hits the leg!

Unlike this bunch, really, aiming for the God of Order yet hitting devils... those demons released them.

If it weren’t for those initial wayward shots, directly kicked out by Grazt, Shaer would’ve thought they wanted to start a war immediately!

Even though Six Fingers has already made a statement, Shaer still suspects that the demons’ brains and hands might not operate in the same dimension.

Their minds may know to target the God of Order, but that side of devils really attracts their hands.

Even though Demon Lords have tried to separate themselves from these Great Demons as much as possible... still charging at the hall while wanting to eliminate several Gods of Order, chaotic scenes kept occurring.

The old Shaer might have been interested in this so-called epic battle... but the Undead Tribe has elevated her taste.

The present Shaer can’t stand any warfare without dominance.

Only battles of strong warriors can catch her eye.

Shaer feels that Celene and Lansendel still interested in amusing themselves with Hill, probably have a similar sentiment... who, after having a feast, would go back to eating some bizarre fish soup.

Speaking of which, those Undead chefs, their culinary skills are truly commendable... no wonder the undead even have schools specifically to teach cooking!

Shaer slightly tilts her head: William said that once things are settled here, he’d take her to try the latest culinary inventions of those chefs.

Mm... she’s a bit annoyed: why aren’t these gods of order dead and reincarnated sooner?

At this stage, they should surely realize they can’t reverse the situation?

The smarter ones should just abandon the Pool of Life and save the meeting hall... that way, even if they lose their substance, at least their reputation remains.

But if they continue to divide their focus... haha~ losing both substance and reputation would be the best result.

If a few lives are lost too, then it would truly be a complete joke.

Shaer, speaking without concern, ignores the most crucial point: the Pool of Life is the source of the Mountain of Heaven’s energy richness and pure ambience.

Once the Pool of Life is freed, with its elusive skills, being captured again is nearly impossible.

Of course, it’ll still exist within the Mountain of Heaven, and the condensed positive energy will still belong to the Mountain of Heaven... But in that scenario, it’s like a fortune wheel, whoever it lands on gets temporary benefits.

Then what’s the meaning of residing in the smallest plane on top of this mountain peak?

Apart from the supreme status... but status, is it showcased by where you live?

Once those lower gods also have the opportunity to obtain such pure and powerful energy, will they still respect the Gods of Order like before?

Isn’t everyone a deity now?

As for those few Gods of Order still tangled with demons and devils... isn’t it just because they’re thinking too slowly to escape!

They never considered heading towards the meeting hall, just trying hard to break free from the enemy encirclement.

Regrettably, those now restraining them are Grand Dukes of Hell and Demon Lords.

Shaer didn’t actually fail to grasp this, she just chooses not to think about it.

Boom!

The gigantic screen on the right side suddenly emitted a deafening roar.

”Hmm?” Celene was extremely surprised, ”Why did that hall collapse? Isn’t that thing very sturdy?

How could it not withstand the demons’ attacks...the devils haven’t even made a move yet!”

”It’s the God of Order, who turned off the protection himself,” Shaer scrutinized for a moment and made her own judgment.

”Ah?” Celene squinted her eyes, ”Is this to sacrifice wealth for safeguarding power?”

”Interesting, I thought they’d hold on until the end!” Lansendel couldn’t help but flap his wings, ”It’s a pity, a bit too late.

None of them are willing to step up and be the decision-maker, at this point, it’s too late for anything, isn’t it?”

”Not necessarily,” Shaer calmly stared at the giant screen, a cold smile appearing at the corner of her mouth, ”If Heavenly Mountain is destined to return to peace, then why must this group of Gods of Order stay together?

At this moment, one should consider whether they can leave with enough followers.

Whoever first takes the initiative to manage everything will allow those god attendants accustomed to following to see hope.

Don’t forget, they can no longer create suitable angels now.”

Hill blinked, then tilted his head.

Although it’s the right thing to consider what to do after failing before the war ends...but it seems a bit useless and boring to step over the heads of fellow comrades still fighting desperately in the battle to gain those least valuable benefits, doesn’t it?

After all, even the weakest among them have mighty divine power!

What will happen once they leave Heavenly Mountain?

Isn’t AO living well?

Then he suddenly shook his head...why was he following Shaer’s line of thought.

That lady always looks at problems from the darkest perspective, doesn’t she?

Obviously, it’s a very correct decision, although it’s like Lansendel said, a bit late.

But this lateness is because they’ve been observing all along before making the judgment.

The Gods of Order certainly don’t feel that they have no room to resist.

See, now a few of them have broken off and charged directly towards the Pool of Life~

After all, no matter how orderly the devils are, they are still devils.

That conference hall is a notorious place for displaying the spoils of the Gods of Order...although they understand in their hearts that Asmodier’s task for them is to stall these Gods of Order, their hands and feet surely have their own ideas.

Which devil isn’t greedy?

Those spoils, as long as they snatch one...upon becoming a Grand Duke, even Asmodeus can’t punish them for such a simple reason.

Not listening to him, what kind of reason is that.

If it weren’t for the battle angels noticing something amiss and intervening in time, probably even those trapped Gods of Order could have escaped.

Unknown where the shadow camera hid on which demon or devil by Shaer, it was also taken into that hall along with the dazzled guide.

Though the white radiance in the tall building still gleams, those bizarre and evil creatures scattered throughout have filled the scene inside the giant screen with an eerie sense of disarray.

That is desolation where prosperity is destroyed, and beauty is strangled.

But every single thing within wasn’t created by the Gods of Order themselves...only battle trophies incompatible with their attributes yet demonstrating their might are displayed here.

Back then, when the Gods of Order gazed loftily upon Asmodeus struggling for themselves and their followers, these trophies were the testimony.

And the most ironic part is, most of the spoils were actually brought back by Asmodeus and the battle angels.

So, today’s outcome, though sad, nobody feels pitiful.

Hill watched the demons and devils shuttling among the rubble and alternating broken columns, using varied means to break the protective shield on those treasures, then happily pocketing them, feeling...indescribable.

”Huh~ This is the consequence of sending out one’s own combat strength!” Shaer’s voice was icy and harsh, ”Wanting a comfortable life is one thing, but to simultaneously hold supreme power, reigning above all deities...haha~

Even the god systems that they took as examples to warn all gods didn’t dare come out to rescue.”

”At least, the Pool of Life is about to be breached.” Compared to Shaer and Celene, Lansendel was more focused on the left giant screen...rather than what the Gods of Order lost, he was more concerned about the safety of his incarnation.

The tightly closed Pool of Life, looking like a holographic projection that people can traverse through, suddenly flashed in the corners.

”Hmm?” Lansendel widened his eyes, ”Wait, the camera...”

The giant screen on the right quickly switched, finally stopping at a corner of the pool filled with various white plants.

Like mist or illusion, the water droplets flash with a diamond-like white glow.

The assorted heights of plants, though all white, can be easily distinguished to be different whites, creating a sense of layering as they stood beside the pool edge covered with white crystal sand.

Hill blinked and asked with a hint of anticipation, ”Lansendel, can you bring back some seeds for me?”
