Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Shaer revealed a satisfied smile... her avatar fell back into a state of slumber once more.

Only leaving behind a full-belly of unanswered questions in a somewhat frantic Celene.

She abruptly stood up, standing before Hill: ”Little Hill, what is the name of the God of Time and Space in Teraxil?

Any inside information?”

”I can only say, his name is Cronos.” Hill softly replied, ”As for anything else, I can’t say.”

Celene furrowed her brow, unable to resist glancing at the smiling Hill... she still remembered, the reason they were willing to converse with Hill was because this child’s mouth was always tight-lipped, rarely discussing others’ secrets carelessly.

Especially those he considered his own people.

Considering the relationship between William and Hill, not mentioning the secrets of the Master of Time and Space was exactly what Hill would do.

But, does it mean she would have to find out for herself if she wanted to know anything?

Celene furrowed her brow, suddenly remembering something, and also broke into a brilliant smile, returned to her seat, closed her eyes, and entered sleep mode.

Besides, over on the Greek Gods’ side they’re now playing the game of dismemberment, and Lansendel is still trying to pry open Amanata’s mouth, it’s all pointless.

She might as well seek out the one who surely knows these things!

Hill quietly watched the two Moon Goddesses on either side leaning against the sofa with their eyes closed resting, and softly sighed... Shaer, with the step Hill provided, went to discuss family matters with her lover, while as for Celene~ she was simply too lazy to think and went off to ask AO directly.

Hill believed that those matters about Aesces are surely known thoroughly by this God Above Gods.

So it wasn’t worth it for him to waste his breath explaining so many troublesome things.

From his understanding of Celene... once the conversation starts, she would have Hill explain the whole backstory of Aesces.

She would even dig into the matter between Terry and Poseidon and question it thoroughly.

Hill would be mad to tell her stories.

Bettter leave it to AO to handle!

However, Hill also realized an important point: Celene’s relationship with the Undead Tribe wasn’t very close.

If it were Lansendel, his first reaction would definitely be to ask Hill if the Undead Tribe had any recordings of the entire event.

Rather than listening to a third-party retelling, it would be better to watch a video directly... this is the inevitable first choice of deities and strong entities familiar with the Undead Tribe when they hear about something interesting happening.

Not just Lansendel, Coron and Edna have this habit too.

But Celene’s first reaction was to find AO.

While this proved her high status in the eyes of that God Above Gods... at least she could find and ask when she wanted.

But it also proved that towards the Undead Tribe, she stood from AO’s perspective too.

Alert yet cautious, only allowing them to exist in Toril.

No matter how much affection Celene truly had for her sister Shaer in her heart, though she always acted like she valued her, she always placed Shaer as the next choice.

She might as well not value Shaer.

Like William, clearly stating his boundaries... for instance, when Teraxil was in danger, he absolutely didn’t have time to play with Shaer.

Or, he wouldn’t accept Shaer spreading her dark theories in Teraxil.

Didn’t Shaer also accept it?

Although Shaer rarely mentioned it, Hill could understand a bit... between the two of them, they laid everything they could accept and couldn’t accept on the table and discussed it one by one, and finally reached consensus, determining that they both could bear the consequences of this decision, which is how they came together.

The binds given by William were undoubtedly more than what AO and Celene demanded of Shaer... yet the Lady of the Night accepted it all happily.

She is indeed the icy Lady of the Night, but she is not devoid of emotions.

Hill never believed that having fewer emotions means having no emotions.

Instead, it’s Celene, who makes Hill’s heart tremble a bit whenever he sees some part of her.

This existence of the Silvermoon Maiden is really what he fears the most... ’selfless’ creepy things.

However, seeing Celene’s behavior, Hill had a realization: this Silvermoon Maiden, it’s no longer about whether they’re friends, she’s not even considered an acquaintance.

Of course, she’s the kind of familiar face who can betray you.

It’s best not to have any transactions with her, this is the best way to interact with her.

The attitude towards her must be gentle and friendly, full of harmonious and civilized vibes.

A certain diplomatic policy fits just right.

As for anything else, just forget it.

Hill suddenly tilted his head... so, the attitude of the Undead Tribe toward this Silvermoon Maiden is probably no different from treating her as a task NPC.

Thus they remain this unfamiliar with each other, without any friendship.

In the Undead Tribe, it’s estimated that Celene’s status is even lower than Ambori’s.

Although Ambori only has connections with a particular member of the Undead Tribe.

But at least that person can bring Ambori into the social circle of the Undead Tribe.

Hill actually initially thought that the Silvermoon Maiden was the most enjoyable presence for interacting with the Undead Tribe... After all, she really has no airs and can chat cheerfully with anyone.

Even Lansendel can’t achieve that.

However, he forgot that for the Undead Tribe, deities without airs are a dime a dozen.

It’s the interesting souls that truly matter.

If one isn’t interesting enough, they must at least be sincere enough.

Relying solely on words to forge relationships with the Undead Tribe... Words can sometimes be very useful, but for those tired of hearing them, they are the most meaningless thing.

Haven’t you noticed that even when the Giant Dragons trade with the Undead Tribe, they are exceedingly honest?

Although it’s because the Mercury Dragon leading the way is quite obedient... Everyone understands that making a dragon like Silver Flame Tasting Yaroslav behave so gently and politely, abiding by the law, is inevitably because he has no choice but to comply.

Add to that the White Dragon who has become a follower of Mystra, still obediently pulling carriages and guarding... Dragons are merely greedy, they are never foolish.

Even in the past, it was the White Dragon that suddenly went brainless and threw itself to death.

Therefore, although they want every copper coin they earn for themselves, there has never been a dragon stabbing the Undead Tribe.

Of course, there are some more hypocritical existences in Hill’s faction... like the Little Fairy Queen Vila.

She genuinely only wants to use enchanting music and fairy-made floral dew as rewards for the Undead Tribe.

The fortunate thing is, she always consults Lynn before making such decisions.

Well... actually Young Master could do it too, he’s truly on good terms with her.

However, Young Master is the one who revels in chaos, and instead would encourage Vila to do so, just to enjoy the spectacle.

Luckily, Vila always remembers Hill’s words; if Lynn forbids her from doing something, she won’t do it.

Even if it pains her to send off the fairy-brewed honey dew that can augment with various buffs, she grits her teeth and perseveres.

Especially after seeing how Young Master gets surrounded and beaten by the Undead Tribe after being found out encouraging Vila to stir up trouble.

Hill pondered for a time and suddenly realized, the status of Celene in the Undead Tribe might be similar to that of Rose.

When encountered, one might try to extract some benefits and tasks from them, but if one is busy with current work, it’s best to avoid them... like the kind you would make a detour at the sight of from afar.

Conversely, Vila and Ambori, they tend to go over and exchange a few words.

Although neither can produce anything eloquent verbally, at least one is melodic, the other intriguing, and their reactions are pleasantly surprising.

-----------------

Hill’s eyes suddenly twitched... Lansendel has returned.

He couldn’t help but feel a bit baffled: Has Lansendel dug out the truth from Amanata’s mouth, finding it pointless to continue murmuring with that gibberish-spouting Sun God?

Then why didn’t he figure it out?

Although he hadn’t paid close attention to Amanata’s words, he had kept an ear on them!

That fellow indeed hasn’t mentioned any noteworthy names.

Hill even started suspecting that AO was indeed pulling strings behind the scene!

He glanced again at the giant screen on the sun: Aislin had disappeared from there some time ago.

The Netherwater Goddess was still babbling with Kashus but couldn’t bear Amanata’s monotonous talk, uttering a few harsh words before swiftly disappearing... It was already easy for the Water Elemental to get irritated on the sun, let alone with a buzzing fly by the ear.

If it were Hill, he would have scampered away too.

As for Kashus, Hill found it truly hard to discern expressions on that fiery pillar... Once the Netherwater Goddess left, he transformed into a massive pillar to absorb the flames on the sun.

No matter the problem with the sun, as long as it involved hot flames, nothing was beyond Kashus’ control.

At that moment, Hill genuinely felt that although these two aren’t good people, their bond is really quite deep.

Hill has a quite understanding of the Elements, although they talk a lot, they’re definitely not like Amanata in speech.

They merely pull topics into a boundless tangent, leaving one unsure when it will return to the main subject... instead of repeating around one subject over and over again.

That only irks the Elements, making them want to eliminate the chatterbox.

No matter if Kashus gets distracted, accompanying him all the way is... truly remarkable.

Hill glanced at Lansendel, who seemed deep in thought, his heart rising with respect for this Lord of Dawn.

In a place like Toril, managing to survive solely as a god to become so powerful is genuinely impressive.

Extracting what one wants to know from Amanata’s babble requires not only intelligence but also a terrifyingly steadfast will.

However, curiously, Lansendel confirmed his own answers exactly when Celene and Shaer each flew away... Was this orchestrated by this Lord of Dawn?
