Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill couldn’t help but blink.

What is Celene worrying about?

Could it be that she really thinks Shaer would marry herself off just because she dislikes Toril’s noise?

The Silvermoon Maiden may always be childlike, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t understand that love between deities doesn’t require marriage, right?

Just because Shaer meets with William doesn’t mean she’s stopping her mischief in Toril.

Celene must have heard some gossip again and started imagining things in her head... No wonder Shaer said her head is filled with seaweed dumped by Ambori.

How could Shaer possibly give up on Toril!

However, Hill didn’t intend to take their conversation completely seriously... The information conveyed openly and in secret is entirely different; it’s basic for the Toril deities.

Of course, the words spoken openly aren’t false, just that the gap between them and the truth is wide like a somersault cloud.

In the past few days, Hill has learned a profound lesson: he has learned to smile through everything.

Don’t set a hawk free until a rabbit, never comment rashly without seeing the outcome.

Otherwise, even with natural reminders, he’d eventually find himself playing into the trap.

After all, words filled with good intentions aren’t necessarily ’kind’.

Hill definitely doesn’t dare to judge matters based on a so-called feeling of ’rightness’ anymore.

He just doesn’t have the mind for it; no matter how useful the feeling system is, it’s still a waste.

It’s better to cut off all thoughts of ’if I... is he’ from the start.

The sudden movement of the webcam on the cobweb attracted Hill’s attention while he was self-reflecting... Reflecting on such matters, thinking about them without making mistakes, truly shows Hill’s rationality.

What could be more important than excitement?

The violently shaking giant screen captured all of Hill’s attention... So much so that he completely ignored another screen where Lansendel intensely watched Asmodeus’s actions, not caring about Celene’s nonsense.

As the Dawn, Lansendel’s understanding of the Law of Light has reached a very deep level... In other words, it’s hard for him to make much progress now, relying only on time and perseverance to wear down the rest.

If the law is a line with a visible end, Lansendel stands at seventy percent.

But that remaining thirty percent, even though it seems short, is... long enough to sap the deities’ will.

Many deities eventually choose to walk the neighboring line, which might be parallel or even intersect, to see if they can step on it... usually because their line becomes too difficult to even wiggle a toe.

Lansendel, indeed, feels similarly.

He also understands why Tai Ji would create such situations... Had it not been for the unexpected world Hill provided, he indeed reached a dead end.

Now, the trembling line with some dirtiness on it beside him suddenly slides to his feet... If he just steps out, he can step on it.

Lansendel believes he would be tempted.

Fortunately, Hill is here.

The extreme confusion of Quince’s chaos and light gave Lansendel many insights... His toe can finally move forward on his own line, who would still want that dirty line next to him?

Hence, even though that line flew to someone else’s feet because he ignored it, Lansendel has no regrets.

Once confirmed that the dirty line would drag him down into a pit, Lansendel made up his mind... No matter how difficult his line is, even if he has to squat there for hundreds of thousands of years, he won’t waver again.

Damn it, wavering means filling in the pit for that Amanata thing!

Even if he suffers, struggles, or rots, he definitely won’t do it!

Yet, just as he solidified his future path, he discovered something good that propelled him forward once again.

The light emitted by burning positive energy brought him such great insight!

Even as he unblinkingly watched the light ripples emanating from the pool, Lansendel was filled with immense gratitude in his heart: to his good friend, his confidant, Hill!

He will stand forever by Hill’s side for his entire life!

The feeling of not going down the wrong path is incredibly wonderful~

Lansendel dares not imagine, if he’d gone the wrong way, discovering that his path wasn’t truly cut off, but broken due to a misstep, how painful it would be!

He even silently thought... He might end up resenting Tai Ji for it.

Even if the other intended it for his future well-being.

Though Lansendel always knew his love for Tai Ji would forever remain secondary to his survival... Otherwise, he would have battled AO to the end back then.

But his love, at least, is pure and sincere.

The young master, who loves to compose dramas, once discussed his understanding in this regard with him.

The reason why love dramas are forever tragedies is because... not many can disregard everything for love.

Moreover, while people long for it, they don’t approve of it.

The Young Master had a saying, which Lansendel actually agreed with: Loving oneself before loving others should be the principle for not just humans, but gods.

Therefore, even if he felt his love wasn’t as fervent again, Lansendel didn’t find anything wrong with it.

But he still hoped his sincere love wouldn’t end up caught in Rose’s web.

However, thanks to his friend’s help, he didn’t walk down that path and could understand Tai Ji’s thoughts... His lover was inherently so rational.

In her view, nothing is more important than life.

With life, everything else comes.

A love sullied slightly by a spider’s web is stronger than desperately searching for love on the other side.

Yet, all this compassion is under the circumstance of it not happening... Lansendel focused his gaze firmly and devotedly on the Pool of Life; he still liked his light the most.

-----------------

The Demon Army led by the Queen of Chaos was charging boldly.

Not to mention those renowned Demon Lords, even Dimogogan was making an effort.

Wait, how did Six Fingers catch up?

Wasn’t he guarding the gates... Oh, no wonder Asmodeus left that Lord of Lies Beelzebub at the door.

Whether he can persuade Six Fingers is irrelevant; making people think he can influence Grazt is the key.

Regarding Beelzebub himself, isn’t Cyric always eyeing him eagerly?

Although that guy cannot understand words of humans, he can comprehend deceitful words... For instance, the idea that somehow unrelated to divine faith, Beelzebub influencing his Divinity of Lies... People wouldn’t believe it, but not a problem for a Madman.

Indeed, even though AO hasn’t shown himself, his handiwork is everywhere!

This Heavenly Mountain chaos... Hill truly felt that AO’s involvement was unbelievably significant.

Even in certain places, he could sense a tacit understanding between this God Above Gods and Asmodeus... They certainly won’t meet nor mention any collaboration, but their cooperation is genuinely adept.

Thus, it’s very likely true that AO decided to distance himself from Heavenly Mountain due to the incidents with Battle Angels... Although Battle Angels have always fought solo, not entirely without the aid from the God of Order.

However, they also wouldn’t abandon their rightful stance for this group of Battle Angels.

AO’s kind of character, it’s even less likely.

However, giving a hand to the King of Battle Angels whom he appreciated, he’d indeed do so... Just like his manner on Toril.

Although many times, his assistance was filled with scheming, you cannot deny he genuinely helped.

These two guys, during those times against the Bottomless Abyss, probably built some sort of tacit understanding.

Thus, without any discussion, they correctly placed the suitable deities and demons in the proper positions.

A ’didn’t expect’ can cover everything.

As for the loss Queen of Chaos suffered upon emerging, whether she’d vent on these two... Beelzebub won’t leave the gates of Hell unless Asmodeus personally orders.

Cyric... Cyric fears nobody, does he?

He isn’t releasing a new book teaching people how to grill squid due to other pressing matters.

These days, it’s the Madman who’s the fiercest.

Without Miska, Queen of Chaos is left with nothing but impotent rage.

Everyone understands this; otherwise, Grazt wouldn’t voluntarily apply to watch the gates, nor would Abyssal Will easily agree to his powerful force idly staying behind.

As for whether Grazt would incur Queen of Chaos’s resentment because of this.

Hill vaguely remembers just when at the gate, Asmodeus vanquished the verbose God of Order opposite, giving her a provocative look and said, ’wait in front for her to slowly move over.’

Then, Queen of Chaos went mad demanding all Demon Lords follow her charge forward... Even specially naming those famed for their combat prowess.

Grazt was naturally among them.

Whenever Queen of Chaos gets heated, her remaining sanity and cognition quickly return home, swapping places with Chaos Seawater.

Thus, it’s evident Grazt was berated into action by her.

She may vent on those inferior to her, but as a Demon Prince, Grazt has fully cooperated with her... Though the other side indeed only listened due to Beelzebub’s excessive taunting... Power nearly equal, reasoning sometimes applies even to seemingly unbeatable entities.

This huge pit perfectly matched by all The Wise Ones, except Queen of Chaos, was prepared before entering Heavenly Mountain.

For this pit to be deep enough, demons even displayed more ferocity than the Battle Angels, whose hatred is profound as an ocean.

Luckily, Battle Angels rather than charging, preferred defeating a few God of Orders to vent.

Having reached such levels, relying on Queen of Chaos’s brain, how could she not fall for it?

What a classic case of planning to trap allies even before victory suits demons and devils’ stereotypes!
