Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Shaer glanced lightly at Hill.

This child is unusually quiet today.

She initially thought something had happened, or that... some guy had done something to him, but after probing several times, Hill’s behavior was normal.

He revels in schadenfreude when he should, and is even more eager to stir up trouble when necessary.

When his eyes dart between her and Celene, the bit of cunning he displays is his usual demeanor.

It’s just that he doesn’t particularly like to mention the battle between Heavenly Mountain and Asmodeus.

Could it be... Shaer thought vaguely... the nonsense William kept muttering, their big fool of an Elven God King, Westaria, among his parents, one is from Heavenly Mountain?

Impossible!

She carefully observed those orderly gods, either gray-haired or stern-faced... where in this bunch could there be anything to move Coron’s heart!

So what is Hill avoiding?

But, speaking of Heavenly Mountain...

Shaer slightly shook her head.

Although many powerful forces might be interested in that place, what Coron would want should not be so dull.

That guy’s taste in women and men are entirely different.

For women, as long as they are beautiful, it’s fine; for men... besides being handsome, they have to have some unique qualities.

If it’s just about looks, then in Coron’s eyes, they are just another ’woman.’

Such a being would not be interested in a broken place like Heavenly Mountain.

The reason AO had to start anew is because he realized the biggest flaw of Heavenly Mountain... Long exposure to such overwhelming positive energy and life energy will cause one to slowly lose their fighting spirit.

Back when only they could communicate in Toril, AO mentioned to Shaer and Celene that he was attracted to Toril because of the vibrant energy of this incomplete world and the crazed determination to survive.

Having left Heavenly Mountain with resilient willpower, the place he needs most is the one that can ignite his desires.

Toril is very suitable.

So, even though Shaer greatly disliked AO’s treating Toril as a testing ground, she couldn’t completely defy AO’s will... indeed, the reason she and Celene could be born as Primordial Goddesses was because of AO’s help.

Shaer slightly moved her eyelids... other areas of Heavenly Mountain actually don’t have this flaw, only the topmost layer.

But originally, the central area of such a powerful divine realm plane is set for their own kind.

Pure positive energy and the most concentrated life force give birth to powerful souls, naturally unaffected by an increase in energy density.

At the core, the orderly gods are merely invading outsiders... malicious neighbors who drove away the original owners.

Finally, reaching this point today is naturally due compensation.

Shaer revealed a cold smile: just wondering, this time, how many orderly gods can be obliterated... and, how many gaps can be left for the light god system to covet.

At least, the one before her, oblivious, still discussing past relations with Asmodeus, the white-bearded white-robed fellow... oh, Asmodeus finally took action.

Although it looks like he couldn’t control his emotions, enraged by that orderly god opposite him.

But, Celene’s simultaneous exclamation said it all: ”Ah oh~ What a beautiful web!”

Hill actually felt Shaer’s covert scrutiny.

He has always had keen senses; even Shaer’s subtle gaze makes Hill feel a prickling on his back.

But Hill didn’t think Shaer could thus deduce the truth.

The boldest imagination still falls within one’s comprehension range.

Yet the Master of Destiny’s existence transcends all.

An existence not permitted by him has no chance to even conceive the thought.

Coron had a chance to see him only because he was one of the earliest deities with prophecy-related divinity in the multiverse.

At that time, the fate river sky didn’t have many stars, so any existence remotely related could hang their destiny star.

Moreover, the Master of Destiny was quite curious back then.

Thus, Coron encountered the best timing.

If it’s the current him, no matter how beautiful Coron turns, nor how devoted, it wouldn’t move the Master of Destiny.

The Master of Destiny’s ability manifested early... based purely on Coron’s boastful personality and Rose’s meticulous probing skills, after so many years, she still couldn’t find out whose elven god king Coron sired.

Don’t think she didn’t want to know.

To Rose, a place like Teraxil has little value, yet the time spent is so lengthy, she even sent one of her few Larong demons there.

Clearly unwilling to stop until the truth is known.

Apparently, the birth of the Elven God King was quite a blow to the Spider Queen.

A god like Shaer, born relatively late, inevitably has no impression of this Master of Destiny.

As long as the truth remains unknown, Hill doesn’t mind what others imagine... After all, the rumors won’t target him.

At that moment, a scream shattered the tranquility of the hall.

”Oh oh oh oh oh~” Hill and Lansendel exclaimed almost simultaneously.

Then, both man and bird couldn’t help but exchange a glance... realizing that they both wanted to praise Asmodeus.

They just didn’t have the nerve to say it out loud, so they simultaneously chose to cover their complex emotions with meaningless ’oh oh’ sounds.

It’s not that they have malice towards the God of Order... just dislike, and it hasn’t escalated to hostility.

But that old white beard talks too much.

Hill didn’t know who Lansendel was reminded of... but for him, he instantly returned to certain student days.

The dream he enjoyed the most during his student days was to pull down the damned old guy on stage who was spouting clichés and acting official and punch him in the face.

Punching while asking ’Do you dare to talk nonsense again?’

Then waking up with laughter amidst a series of ’I dare not’.

However, that kind of thing still seemed more human than what this old guy in front of him was saying.

He was just an observer, with snacks and drinks at hand, and with Celene and Lansendel cracking jokes beside him, both occasionally zoning out... facing that old guy, Asmodeus, really, it’s unknown how he endured it.

Thus, Hill wasn’t surprised at all when, despite it being a group attack, eighty percent of the demons and devils unleashed their big moves on that white beard.

Especially the Demon Lords.

Dimogogan’s two heads actually reached a consensus at this moment... beat him up.

Even the Queen of Chaos, eager to charge into the meeting hall, swung a majority of her tentacles before leaving, smashing in a large circle... all targeting the old man’s head.

Only Rose could tolerate these things a bit more... the moment Asmodeus made his move, she flashed in mid-air and then disappeared from the huge screen.

Shaer frowned... although the frenzied attack on the Gods of Order was indeed admirable, she was more curious about Rose’s target.

She had a feeling that was Asmodeus’s ultimate goal.

Even though the growing power of this Lord of Hell is something Shaer doesn’t need to pay too much attention to, what she is concerned about is Rose.

That guy, if not for enough benefits, would never be so active... after all, it’s enough that she’s involved in this battle?

Like Six Fingers, guarding a gate also counts as merit.

The products of Heavenly Mountain actually hold no value for demons... they enjoy eating flesh and blood, not Soul Bodies.

They don’t really need to eat; they just enjoy the special pleasure of the blood and gore.

However, Shaer couldn’t help but feel a bit confused... would the main body be willing to enter such a ghastly place?

The topmost layer of Heavenly Mountain, even when clouds pass, even when buildings tower, remains shadowless.

-----------------

Of course, Shaer wouldn’t be willing to go in.

She would never enter any place without shadows.

But someone can.

Standing outside the Dimensional Gate surrounded by the Demon Army, the Lady of the Night turned her head to look at the guy who suddenly transformed into a Great Peacock for some reason: ”If Celene can go in, you shouldn’t have a problem either, right?”

”Hmm?” Lansendel’s eyes widened in surprise, ”Didn’t you see the number of Great Demons at the entrance?”

Shaer looked down at him: ”Go or not, just say it, why pretend to be innocent?”

”Married Shaer, with a wicked mouth.” Lansendel muttered.

Shaer took a deep breath... can’t fight, this guy is deliberately provoking her, definitely can’t let him have his way!

”What do you want?” Shaer asked coldly... to banter with her and not refuse outright only proved that this dead bird wanted to negotiate.

”Eh~ That photography Strange Object of yours is really nice~” Lansendel’s tiny eyes almost sparkled.

Shaer’s lips tugged slightly... this guy wants her exclusive Strange Object?

She closed her eyes briefly and then a gleam of dim light flashed in her eyes: ”Mine is for Shadow Leap, can’t give you the same.

But, William promised to give you one for a Bright Flash.

How about it?”

”Leave it to me!” The Great Peacock happily clapped its wings, extending a claw in front of Shaer.

”Hmm?” He looked somewhat surprised at the set of Bright Imaging Strange Objects Shaer handed him, ”Giving it to me now?”

Lansendel was a bit puzzled... before he spoke, Shaer definitely didn’t anticipate he would have this idea.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have shown the expression of wanting to slap him to death.

But this thing directly appeared in this transformed hand.

How could he not know when did Shaer acquire this ability to casually swap things between herself and her transformation?

That God of Time and Space... is a bit strong!
