Surviving The Fourth Calamity

The real Celene is actually very unhappy with the Lord of Hell using the Toril Gods as a shield.

But when discovered by Asmodeus, she acts like a pure little fool.

Hill, though he had known her character to be somewhat illusory, was still startled by such synchronously yet completely opposite reactions.

Though he had heard that the simpler one is, the more capable they are of multitasking... like the legend of drawing a circle with one hand and a square with the other, something that those with many minds find difficult to achieve.

But Hill had tried it before: he considered himself a typical smart but naive person... yet he couldn’t do it.

Does it have to be someone as simple as Celene?

Hill looked up at the giant screen, seeing the Silvermoon Maiden with a face of curiosity and eyes full of innocence, while Celene’s ceaseless voice of condemnation echoed in his ears: ”The latter part is indeed true.

Letting others know that the items related to Miska were lost at their hands does indeed strike a large blow to the dignity and status of these old folks.

But what does this have to do with our Toril?

Could Chaos have kept the gemstone secret even if we hadn’t broadcasted that the Queen of Chaos snatched it from them?

Was it the other Demon Lords who wanted to, or some Great Devil willing?

Heh~

This guy is certainly trying to stir trouble by saying such things!

Want to push the blame onto us?

Dream on!”

Hill blinked, suddenly realizing... the nine layers of hell likely don’t want to see the day Miska returns either.

Though the gemstone’s function and value aren’t great... but its significance is heavy.

This thing was hidden atop the Heavenly Mountain, and always stayed among those Gods of Order cursed to never collect the Seven-Section Rod from the Queen of Chaos... what if, this gemstone can counteract the so-called heavenly punishment from these Gods of Order?

Asmodeus, such a character, even if he promised at the time to help the Queen of Chaos achieve this goal, doesn’t mean he won’t stir trouble later.

Thus, he heightened the presence of the Toril Deities... especially when facing that spider, who is an Abyssal Lord of the Bottomless Abyss.

Of course, most importantly, this lord is not likely to wish to see the Queen of Chaos succeed.

Rose has a grudge against the Chaos Sea... and although the Queen of Chaos is now completely integrated into the Bottomless Abyss, she originally came from the Chaos Sea.

Of course, judging from her appearance, she isn’t the same kind of creature as the frogs... it’s just that she, for a more ambitious future, led her kind into the more powerful Bottomless Abyss, leaving the place to the frogs.

But nobody knows for sure if there’s no connection between them.

Especially since, a female frog became the wife of a lord on a certain layer, and holds most of the real power.

As long as the Abyssal Will continues to reject this past Queen of Abyss, anything Rose does won’t be punished.

Even if she cooperates with the Lord of Hell... but now, isn’t the Abyssal Will commanding her to work for the Lord of Hell?

So indeed, Rose is the most likely Abyssal Lord to cooperate with Asmodeus... even if she can comprehend the hidden lies in the words of the Lord of Hell.

Hill exhaled lightly... he needed so much time, even with someone’s prompting, to understand the matter, but Celene understood it the moment she heard it.

This character, sometimes sharp sometimes foolish, she indeed does it alone.

However, Celene is clearly very displeased with Asmodeus’s actions.

Speaking of which, she doesn’t like Toril being surrounded by such malice at all.

If that easily frenzied Queen of Chaos really confronts Toril for such inexplicable reasons, then... nobody knows what outcomes might arise.

”A person’s name casts a shadow.”

The Queen of Chaos abandoned by the Abyssal Will, still holds such a position today, thanks to her powerful combat prowess.

This is completely different from regular Abyss invasions... those who will be harmed or die aren’t the mortals.

Don’t be fooled by Celene’s usual indifference, when Toril faced annihilation, did she ever not intervene?

She could even bring a few suns back for Toril.

And compared to those frequently world-ending Wild Gods, this past Queen of Abyss poses a greater threat.

Lansendel on this side of the giant screen, though sleeping, the big bird on the other side shook its claws and stepped a few paces in the air.

From the incessant twitching of its wings, it’s clear Lansendel’s heart isn’t at peace either.

But Rose, lived up to expectations.

The Crystal Spider hesitated for just a second... in slight acknowledgment of the Abyssal Will... and then quickly replied with a smile: ”Ah~ Then, there’s some danger on the side of the Queen of Chaos!

After all, Shaer and Celene, seem to have reconciled recently... even willing to join forces against enemies!

Oh my~ What to do?

Yet, I just had a little spat with the Queen of Chaos... despite her being unreasonable.

But when did the Queen of Chaos ever reason?

Even if out of goodwill, she won’t heed my words.

Really, no chance~”

Even the invariably busy Asmodeus couldn’t help but glance at the syrup-mouthed Spider Queen: who doesn’t know, Shaer and Celene joining forces to fight is against you, Rose!

Moreover, you were the one to provoke both of them first.

Honestly, whether it’s the Abyss or Hell, many do find trouble with Celene, but those willing to drag Shaer into it are really few.

Especially when it involves snatching something from Shaer’s hands... If it was another Demon Lord, it might have been fine.

Rose, that spider web was formed using the power of the Shadow Realm.

Using lower-tier energy to counter higher power, Rose, she really thinks highly of herself.

Of course, Asmodeus knew it was Shaer who struck Rose first.

But since when has the Multiverse been about cause and consequence?

Rose knowing this still attacked Shaer, naturally has to accept the beating in return.

Asmodeus really doesn’t want to pick up on what Rose said.

What he’s looking for, is only Celene.

Though Lansendel also caused him trouble, failing to capture that Dawn Messenger was his own mistake.

The moment that guy appeared in his world, it pretty much decided Lansendel’s arrival.

Asmodeus is quite relieved that the Dawn Messenger isn’t the type to start a fight upon spotting a Devil.

Otherwise, some things happening prematurely would cause him great trouble... before he became a deity.

So, while he certainly wouldn’t ignore Lansendel’s trouble, it doesn’t require such a cumbersome approach.

That guy’s slip-ups are plenty, as long as that fool Amanata is around, Lansendel can always be taken care of.

But Celene is different.

Asmodeus is utterly annoyed with this troublemaker seeking issues without reason!

What does she have to do with it! Yet she must stand up to help Lansendel cause him trouble.

If he could drag things out a bit longer, he’d be much more at ease, not needing to cooperate even with beings like the Queen of Chaos.

Asmodeus chuckled: ”The Silvermoon Maiden~ always likes to meddle in others’ business.

Perhaps, there’s been a lot of meddling recently.”

”What did I do to make him hate me so much?” From the other side of the grand screen, Celene shouted angrily.

However, the beautiful maiden atop the Heavenly Mountain seemed oblivious to it, merely stamped her foot in dissatisfaction at the Great Peacock beside her: ”Oh~ Rose isn’t satisfied yet!”

Hill felt somewhat bewildered as he watched the Pantheon directly take part in the show, feeling a multitude of emotions.

Indeed, the preparations beforehand are far more extensive than the actual battle.

Why perform such an awkward play!

Did the Silvermoon Maiden know her performance made Lansendel’s bird face stiffen?

”What’s wrong?” Shaer chuckled lightly, ”Frightened, Hill.

Don’t worry about Celene’s awkward acting; she’s just informing Asmodeus that she won’t allow Toril to be dragged down just like that.

Moreover, she’s warning Rose that if she dares to get involved, don’t blame later when she finds Toril inhospitable.

Though few deities in Toril wish to interact with Celene, if she openly shows hostility towards someone, it would still be declared in Toril’s name.

Even the Evil Faction wouldn’t be complaining because of it.

In some respects, Celene is indeed Toril’s spokeswoman.”

Hill felt somewhat confused... If the deities of Toril truly valued Celene so much, why would they let Shaer turn her into such a mess?

In the end, only Shuni was willing to help.

Yet he also understood there must be other reasons behind this... like how Celene, speaking in such a manner, actually represented AO.

Shaer definitely wouldn’t make such a secretive matter clear to him.

Even mentioning it slightly stems from goodwill towards Hill.

Nevertheless, both Asmodeus and Rose seemed to grasp the message.

They didn’t even acknowledge Celene’s point.

Rose directly changed the topic: ”Why exactly does the Queen of Chaos want that gemstone?

The previous Divine Assembly allowed her to search for the Seven-Section Rod just because they were certain she couldn’t achieve it.

But that gemstone... seems somewhat different.

Is she truly unafraid of being besieged?

No matter what, this is happening outside the Abyss.

Even if those beings wish to avoid getting involved in the conflict between you and the Heavenly Mountain, waiting for her outside the Dimensional Gate would be fine.”

”Probably, she believes that the gate formed by the combined forces of the Abyss and Hell isn’t that easily broken.” Asmodeus smiled politely.

Yet Hill felt that every thread beneath Rose’s feet was inscribed with disbelief... with thoughts of dealing with that damn squid, why bring up the Dimensional Gate?

When they exit, intact Dimensional Gates will be far from ordinary.
