Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Celene suddenly gasped: ”Ah~ Is there such a father?”

Hill was a bit bewildered by her yelling: ”Celene?”

”She’s just expressing her surprise and, thanks to AO, hasn’t been swallowed for her misdeeds.” Shaer spoke slowly, ”William left for something, so I also want to know why Athena and the others both wish for Zeus’s death and yet can’t let the demons take him completely.”

”What on earth are you talking about!” Celene said confidently, ”Look at the deities of our Toril, how many are so cruel to their own children?

Even Rose, that disgrace of the Elf Deity System, wouldn’t kill her child before it was born!”

Shaer coldly glanced at Celene... this bastard was deliberately provoking her.

What the other deities of Toril did to court death, Celene wouldn’t care!

She was subtly mocking Shaer for always wanting to get rid of Mask... Mask, unlike other deities born from the aftershocks of battles between Celene and Shaer, was born from the purest law of the Dark Night, a fact Shaer could not deny, no matter how stubborn—her child.

Shaer sneered: ”What do you want to do, Celene?

Think I’ll stop tracking your movements on the Heavenly Mountain because of overblown anger?

Wishful thinking... such deliberate provocation is meaningless to me.”

Celene pouted slightly, feeling somewhat displeased... Shaer was becoming harder to manipulate recently.

In the past, even knowing she was deliberately causing trouble, Shaer would still fall for it just to teach her a lesson.

Unlike now, remaining unmoved, more focused on Celene’s secret moves!

What on earth had William discussed with Shaer?

How could her sister suddenly become like this!

Celene suddenly felt somewhat lost.

She once thought, no matter how things changed, no matter the intensity of their struggle, Shaer and she were still twin sisters, understanding and knowing each other’s behavior patterns the best.

But, seemingly, Shaer... had suddenly made a baffling turn on her fixed trajectory.

From now on, would it be, indeed, that they would drift further apart?

Even having fought Shaer in relentless battles, Celene had never had this feeling.

After all, no matter how much Shaer resented, Celene was always the only one who could touch her heartstrings, making the silent Lady of the Dark Night furious.

Celene actually wasn’t unaware, Shaer would be angry over there being a Sun in Toril... but it was the only way to save them both.

Toril, ever since the sisters saved it from those world-ending Exterior Gods, had become, too peaceful.

Peace was good, those Primordials lived happily... but she was not happy, especially when seeing Shaer immersed blissfully in the Darkness.

Celene herself was still okay, anyway, her heart was lively, always jumping around, and her integration with the Primordial Light wasn’t that high.

Celene was always Celene.

But Shaer, her sister, continuing living like that, was about to truly become the Primordial Darkness.

Perhaps Shaer thought such a result was good.

But Celene didn’t wish so.

She didn’t want to become the true Primordial Light, nor did she wish for her sister to become a cold Goddess of Darkness.

Just the Goddess of Darkness, no longer Shaer.

AO, although he favored the two of them... he was heartless.

To him, as long as Celene and Shaer appeared the same outwardly, as long as the Law remained as originally the two of them, AO wouldn’t care.

Those old fogies from the Heavenly Mountain, whose brains were nearly solid, probably only when Shaer and Celene respectfully shouted ’God Above Gods,’ would understand what had happened... by then, what good would their regret do?

AO had been particularly tolerant of their antics these years, having finally figured out why Celene suddenly went crazy... otherwise, he wouldn’t be so permissive with Shaer’s lover from the Otherworld.

Compared to the minor troubles brought by William and his Undead Tribe, ensuring his children wouldn’t become mindless embodiments of the Law itself was the most important thing.

AO, though not giving up utilizing Shaer and Celene, nor turning a blind eye to William and the Undead Tribe’s existence, accepted this reality then further using it proved his tolerance.

Otherwise, in his controlled Toril, could he not drive away a group of Otherworld visitors?

Celene didn’t know, whether the current Shaer had realized what her original actions were for... but, she had a bad premonition.

Shaer understood, but still chose a different direction from her.

The Silvermoon Maiden suddenly felt a bit lost... yet she didn’t think she had done anything wrong.

Shaer ignored Celene, who had suddenly sunk into her own emotions.

After so many years, she already understood there was no need to discuss what was on Celene’s mind.

Whether good or bad, her sister would never consider whether others were willing to accept her goodwill.

Celene never did bad things.

But she, too, did what she believed to be good, never bothering to ask whether you actually wanted this goodness.

If not for William’s existence, which stopped her from total despair after losing the Shadow Weave... Shaer might have somewhat understood her emotions had almost accumulated to the limit.

Shaer twitched the corner of her mouth, too lazy to bother with so much, turned her head and asked, ”Hill, I think William’s departure was a bit hasty.

So... what did you mean by what you just said?

Why did you say that he swallowed her before Athena was born?

How did he swallow her?

The Greek Gods don’t seem to use divine power resonance to give birth to offspring, right?”

Hill pursed his lips... cursing that damn William in his heart!

He was unwilling to bring up such disgusting matters in front of his girlfriend, so should he be the one to talk about it?

What a lousy man, why does he have a girlfriend?

However, he still spoke, ”Zeus swallowed, pregnant with Athena, her mother, the former wisdom goddess Metis, as well as gained wisdom’s divine authority.

However, whether it was something Metis did or not, Athena was ultimately born, and she surged turbulently within Zeus’s mind.

Unable to endure the pain, Zeus simply split open his own head, and Athena was officially born into this world.”

”Filthy man...” Although not very familiar with the Greek Gods, Shaer, who still knows Zeus’s wife is Hera, couldn’t help but mutter.

She’s seen many promiscuous deities, including Coron of the Elf Deity System and that Sea Elf King. None are good things.

But their lovers are all willing.

Even in the Evil God System, if lovers are of the divine level, then they are willing themselves... Even Talos, who coveted Olypher so much, couldn’t bring that Winter Maiden to his bed.

Olypher was still a divine subordinate under his control!

No, even Mulholland and Anmur, as King of Gods Pantheon, the goddesses there could refuse the Divine King!

Why is the Greek Gods so disgusting... Shaer could tell, Metis certainly wasn’t willing.

She just couldn’t refuse.

Even Celene, who was somewhat absent-minded, listened with a face of anger and resentment.

Hill knew that, as long as she’s a goddess, she couldn’t accept Zeus’s dog-like behavior.

He could only helplessly and softly comfort, ”So, the plane where the Greek Gods are located has completely collapsed, and Zeus is about to be dismembered.

Fate had already set the price; he spent it first, and simply overspent.”

Hill blinked... he originally wanted to say overdraft.

But he found that he couldn’t say it.

Speaking of which, he was no longer unwilling for William to know about his origin like before.

Mainly because... even if this guy wanted to get Hill to work, he couldn’t do it now.

But it seems that the Master of Destiny doesn’t want him to reveal this secret.

Hill slightly twitched his mouth: looks like the grand drama related to the Greek Gods hasn’t reached its end yet.

But, it’s probably close to its climax.

That’s why the Master of Destiny prevents Hill from getting involved... Previously, when he hadn’t awakened the Power of Destiny and let his mark hang in the river of destiny, he could speak this matter out.

But now, it’s very likely to affect the direction of this drama.

Sure enough, in any drama, the climax is most easily affected, and most easily leads to an unexpected conclusion.

”Heh~” Shaer, calming herself sooner than Celene, sneered before speaking, ”So, Hill, why does Gaia in the Chaos Sea also want Zeus’s flesh?”

”Hmm?” Hill let out a puzzled nasal sound.

”I just received the news.” Shaer said lightly, ”Gaia also holds some status over there in the Chaos Sea.

The Mother Toad is quite satisfied with her, so she somewhat shielded her.

Of course, it’s not to the extent of not allowing her to do this, just giving her some autonomy.

Gaia demanded a piece of Zeus’s flesh.

The Bottomless Abyss agreed.”

”Gaia, always hoping to resurrect her youngest son, you should know!” Hill was a bit confused about what she wanted to ask.

Shaer couldn’t possibly be unaware of Aesces’s situation.

”That’s not right; using a son’s bloodline to resurrect a father is absolutely impossible.” Shaer said decisively, ”Regardless of whether the Greek Gods have this Divine Arts, after leaving their plane, it won’t have any effect!”

Hill said a bit awkwardly, ”Well... would you like to ask William?”

”Hmm?” Shaer looked at him in surprise, ”What does this have to do with William?”

”The God of Time and Space, during our Teraxil deity ascension, openly mentioned his name, and the Undead Tribe all knows.”

Though aware Shaer was asking wittingly, Hill still graciously offered her a step.
