Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”Ha, Athena and the others can’t do it, but can the old man really not?” Shaer sneered as she spoke, ”Even I can think of more than one way.

Right now, he’s just waiting for the simplest and easiest solution... What he needs is a Greek pantheon that can survive on the Heavenly Mountain, not a bunch of homeless pitiful beings.”

Celene’s big eyes instantly filled with confusion: ”Why do you always say things halfway?

Can’t you say it more clearly?

The old man won’t be displeased because you speak ill of him in front of me, isn’t that natural?

Hasn’t he been listening for hundreds of thousands of years?”

Hill silently raised the Crystal Cup, creating a bit of noise for himself.

”Ah... Hill~” Celene said with a cheeky smile, ”Your tight-lipped and cautious nature has even been praised by the old man~

He won’t mind you hearing some of these words.”

But I mind!

Hill stared at Celene with his big, watery eyes... hoping this Silvermoon Maiden would see his heartfelt wish: Spare me~ Sister.

He couldn’t care less how AO would talk about his ’caution’ with Celene!

Just because he’s of good character and tight-lipped doesn’t mean they should treat him like a garbage bin!

Hill really doesn’t want to listen.

So, between Shaer and Celene, he prefers to communicate with Shaer, naturally... the latter knows absolutely as much about AO’s attitude but still chooses to avoid certain topics with Hill.

However, Hill can actually understand the distinction between the two... Celene has never been a true leader.

Even the various temples under her, she can’t control.

Although those believers show absolute reverence and adoration, they won’t just do whatever Celene says.

When they compete for various interests and power, they absolutely won’t retreat a step just because Celene says so... although the Silvermoon Maiden treats everyone well, her soft ears are well-known.

Even now her attitude is fair, but no one can avoid her suddenly making a big mistake later.

Therefore, now when Celene issues divine oracles, they are quite vague... something like cherishing women and children or helping the weak.

They’re just conceptual divine oracles.

She won’t meticulously arrange what each temple should be responsible for like Shaer, nor will she loudly proclaim like Lansendel that he wants to clear away the mist within the major Puzzle Locks, letting his radiance shine on those cities sealed for thousands of years... Many people think that if the God of Mysterious Lock could be resurrected, it must be because Lansendel’s believers have traced his whereabouts.

All Celene can say is, my moonlight is beautiful, so I hope everyone under its glow can find happiness in these kinds of hollow words.

Hill now really understands, this is already the most appropriate way Silvermoon Electors can coexist with their Family Head.

On the other hand, Shaer truly considers Hill’s future... she doesn’t wish for Hill to have any matter that AO could use to make trouble.

Most importantly, these matters must not be sent out from her hands.

Hill gently glanced at Shaer, who was staring coldly at Celene... and lightly sighed in his heart.

Bad person, good person; kind person, wicked person... truly, you cannot judge from a single perspective.

Shaer impatiently interrupted Celene: ”Don’t say useless words. Why should Hill bear your mistakes?

If you can’t figure it out, go think slowly elsewhere... you should, use your brain.

Tsk~

Look at that Greek Moon Goddess on the grand screen... why didn’t the old man create you like her?”

Celene answered the last sentence without hesitation: ”That’s because the old man wanted too much.

You see, he wanted his Moon Goddess to be kind and lovely, pure and innocent, yet also hoped this Moon Goddess could be skilled in combat and unmatched in strategy... Toril fulfilled his requirements as well!

It just turned out to be a pair.”

Shaer silently rolled her eyes... all her ungraceful behaviors were forced out by this silly sister.

However, at least Celene wouldn’t trouble Hill anymore... this child has done so well, even Shaer doesn’t wish for him to encounter any misfortune.

Shaer is different from Celene, she was a leader from the beginning.

Thus, she clearly knows that the appreciation from those in power is just nonsense.

The current AO indeed finds Hill’s waterproof defense commendable since between Teraxil and Toril, there’s no conflict, and the gap between him AO and the World Tree is sufficiently large.

Hill’s cautiousness is like a careful neighboring family, the actions of a strong neighbor that are worth appreciating.

But who knows about the future?

Even Shaer herself doesn’t dare to say she can love William eternally, only assuring that she is willing to make great efforts for this eternity right now.

AO’s various experiments on Toril show that he intends to climb to higher peaks.

Whether it’s Teraxil or the World Tree... maybe one day they’ll be the rock he needs to pry away on his ascent.

Moreover, the most important thing is, Hill, will he forever be valued so heavily by the World Tree?

He never intended to walk the path of deities.

Perhaps to the World Tree, any long period of time is insignificant.

But for Hill, no one knows if he might err in the future, leading those deities to abandon him... This is too easy for a Mage.

Especially a Mage who reaches the edge of a cliff with no road ahead.

They would do anything to find a bridge linking this cliff to other places.

Shaer is very familiar with mages.

The current Hill is very charming, but that doesn’t mean he will remain so charming ten thousand years from now.

Humans are the most prone to change.

Of course, she hopes Hill retains his nature, but...

Who knows?

For now, she, Shaer, still appreciates this child, so she must prevent Celene from destroying him.

Silvermoon Maiden?

Ha~

Shaer showed a cold smile... She, as the Lady of the Night, causes damage openly, while this innocent Silvermoon wreaks havoc yet remains guileless.

Hill could sense the distant shadow surrounding Shaer, knowing that the Goddess of the Night would again be plunged into discontent and depression due to Celene’s foolish actions.

But actually, he can somewhat understand where Shaer’s madness comes from... Celene truly acts and speaks without thinking, devoid of any intent to harm.

She is also selfish, considering only her own happiness.

But she indeed is innocent... She wouldn’t intentionally harm anyone.

Yet, the consequences are always unforeseen.

No, it should be said that she only sees what is in front, never contemplating the consequences.

Although Lansendel also yields terrifying outcomes... in truth, he tried his utmost.

His issue is the greater the effort, the deeper the regret, rather than not knowing his goal from the start.

Thus, Hill is willing to communicate with Lansendel.

Among these three, logically, he should be closest to Celene in attributes... but he truly hopes Celene never visits him.

This fellow naturally brings storms and turmoil... crucially, the rain falls on others and the wind blows at others.

Celene, in matters unrelated to Silvermoon, fundamentally lacks constancy... thus, her attention is easily diverted.

And the key Shaer found for her indeed aligns with what she cares most about.

Even this world’s chaotic Silvermoon draws her interest, let alone the Moon Goddess capable of remaining clear-headed in the messy Greek God System.

Celene studied Artemis for a while and said with some regret: ”She is not a real Moon Goddess.

She relies on her weapons and certain accessories to use the power of Silvermoon... Greek Moon Goddess, actually a conferral?

How did they do this?”

”Look at Aislin over there.” Shaer snorted coldly, ”Don’t always ask brainless questions.”

”What are you talking about!” Celene retorted, ”Indeed, Aislin can control some of the moon’s power, but... that can’t turn the controller into a real Moon Goddess!

Greek God System, binding divine positions with Divine Artifacts!

Whoever holds that weapon is the deity!

Look at Apollo, isn’t it the same?”

”The universe where the Greek God System exists is different from our star universe.” Shaer said impatiently, ”Their stars are embodiments of deities, not real starry skies.

You have seen it.”

Hill blinked... The deities of Teraxil loved transforming their Divine Kingdom into the appearance of stars.

But they are embedded into the starry sky, aware of the exterior universe’s appearance.

Yet, the sky of the Greek God System is Urnos’ body, and the earth is also transformed by Gaia.

Thus, the world where the Greek God System resides is like a huge, multi-layered box.

However, many very early Fantasy Worlds also had that appearance, probably because apart from the towering World Tree and free-flowing Styx, other initial Plane Worlds resembled boundless boxes.

The Greek God System simply failed to grow its world to the levels of the Bottomless Abyss or nine layers of hell... but from the day Gaia was born, it seems they were destined only for the path of destruction.

Consider how the Bottomless Abyss, also a box-like structure, managed to expand... only by continuously moving forward, can this box maintain stability.

The reason Star Spirits possess such power and transcendental status is because they are the first to establish a star core universe capable of maintaining a stable structure without energy absorption.

Therefore, at this stage, Multiverse worlds basically either form natural nebulae or are stellar universes crafted by Star Spirits.
