Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill silently watched the two giant screens that had returned to calm.

The story of the Greek Gods had temporarily come to an end, and Shaer was clearly looking for another stage to watch.

Shadows on the screens continuously flickered.

Finally understanding the causes and effects of this great play of the Greek Gods, Hill was deeply shaken.

His past wishful thinking vanished at this moment.

The Master of Destiny did not allow Hill to do anything that would affect the operation of destiny, indeed for his own good.

The stars hanging over the river of destiny, shining on each thread over the river, are both virtual and real.

When these threads become entangled with others’ destinies, they slowly turn from virtual to real... The more it transforms, the greater the pull between this star and the river of destiny.

Until... The force keeping the star afloat can no longer withstand that pull, and naturally it falls into the river of destiny.

And in the river of destiny, apart from the Master of Destiny who has already merged with the river, who else can remain afloat?

Tai Ji, all the plans made for her future, are heavy weights binding her to the riverbed.

She indeed has a chance of resurrection... but the more she does, the greater the inescapable weight.

Because what she influences has never been herself.

And even though she is the Goddess of Fate, the only one she can influence without paying a price is herself.

This... is truly a terrifying cycle.

Fortunately, Hill has always been cautious, never thinking that knowing more means affecting more... Of course, the impact on the power of destiny from all he did before lighting his star wasn’t that great.

The worlds he walked through indeed changed quite a bit, but basically, they all reached their ultimate purpose, and the results moved towards a more perfect direction, not deteriorating due to Hill’s existence.

Furthermore, when Hill did those things, he wasn’t considering his own interests... at worst, it was mutually beneficial.

He didn’t act upon his dislike for AO by meddling in the paths of destiny of those in Toril.

Therefore, Hill, who hasn’t lit his Star of Destiny, managed to progress smoothly... if he truly did something excessive out of selfish desire, the day he illuminated his star, he would have directly fallen into the river.

Given Hill’s nature, lighting the star was just a matter of time, not a question of possibility.

One might say, Hill’s caution saved him.

Everything Hill has done over the years constitutes his bright star.

Boom!

Hill felt his mental sea violently tremble.

A layer of fog instantly lifted.

Above the boundless ocean, myriad stars became clearly visible in the sky.

A star as bright as tomorrow appeared at the center of the starry sea.

His destiny main star finally hung above his soul... At this moment, Hill truly became the Son of Destiny.

Now, even when standing in the river of destiny, he wouldn’t lose his way, nor would he be unable to find his way back... The greatest crisis for a Prophecy Mage lies here.

The tributaries of the river of destiny are so numerous and dense that one wrong step means no turning back.

Moreover, the river of destiny consumes soul power... the longer one stays, the faster one dies.

Hill is already capable of being a true Prophecy Mage.

But he... Hill sighed absent-mindedly... He’d be crazy to look at that stuff!

Is he so afraid of not dying fast enough?

The Master of Destiny might control Hill’s mouth, but the seal is not truly hard to break... If Hill risked everything to speak out, he could still do so.

This is just a seal because he guessed the turning point of destiny.

If Hill must know certain destinies, and he walked the river of destiny as a Prophecy Mage, seriously observed, and determined the results, then he could, of course, speak out.

However, the result would be like Tai Ji, a choice he must make himself.

Frankly, the Master of Destiny simply doesn’t want Hill to make any operational errors, but it doesn’t mean he will stop Hill from rushing headlong into the whirlpool of destiny.

Anyway, even if Hill falls into the river, he won’t sink to the bottom like others... After the destinies they interfered with have passed, they might recover a trace of will and soul.

Hill can float over that river like the Master of Destiny, watching the show... it might be a bit lonely, but not too boring.

Realizing this, Hill felt a chill down his spine.

He’s still young!

He’s not of age yet!

There’s a great life still to be enjoyed; how could he possibly go play some drifting adventure?

Even though his backers seem more formidable each time, Hill feels he doesn’t really need them.

He might as well walk his path in life honestly!

Don’t say what shouldn’t be said, don’t go where you shouldn’t go.

At least for now, he doesn’t feel that anyone or anything is worth him exiling himself to the horizon.

Even Teraxil is rising steadily, clearly in an ascending phase!

He’s not seriously ill, yet chooses to watch his own world descend into ruin at such a good time.

Hill expelled a long breath, suddenly losing curiosity about the future fate of the Greek Gods.

The God of Time and Space did the right thing; only by severing ties with them could he ensure that Teraxil wouldn’t be swept into this disaster in the future.

Hermes took Zeus off the battlefield... but the steps he left behind won’t be so easily removed.

Hill most admires AO, who always brings trouble home.

If Hill guessed correctly, the next major event affecting the Multiverse will be the full-scale invasion of the Chaos Sea.

It’s estimated that Teraxil will also be affected.

But there’s no need to worry too much... with the Undead Tribe around, there’s really no need to worry about a frog plague.

However, Asmodier is likely not in for good times.

Having swallowed someone’s son, naturally, he will face retaliation... Oh~ Everything’s back to normal, turned into powerful Divine Power, and even stormed into the Heavenly Mountain; his wife and daughter are back by his side, yet he must endure endless frog slaughters.

The Chaos Sea and Hell are the most opposing existences.

Or rather, Hell’s order is the hardest to overthrow.

And the frogs, who fancy themselves anarchists, even knowing the nine layers of hell are difficult to deal with, won’t give up the beautiful wish to turn Hell’s order into disorder.

Hill decisively ignored every phrase coming into his ears... For Shaer, Celene, and Lansendel, these three clearly courageous, strategic, and sufficiently cruel and ruthless deities, things indeed needed some discussion after entering Toril.

Thankfully, among the three staying here, Lansendel can be considered broad-minded; he doesn’t mind Toril having one more deity of light Law.

Meanwhile, Shaer and Celene, even if there were different feelings inside, wouldn’t make any unnecessary expressions after AO’s decision... Of course, when AO formally introduces the existence of these three in Toril, Shaer might say some harsh words.

Yet, those staying here all understand her true mindset, so she won’t waste time staging a grand drama.

Shaer is truly the one who doesn’t care about any new toys appearing in Toril.

It would be great if these guys brought calamity to Toril!

No need for her to personally act in an apocalypse; Shaer would be extremely pleased... She’s not someone who likes to act herself anyway.

Therefore, the discussion among these three is rare and tranquil.

Shaer likely received a good response from William, knowing that the ties between the Greek Gods and Gods of Time and Space have been completely severed, and she has no need to coordinate anything, thus her attitude is quite indifferent.

Of course, this indifferent attitude also relates to the fact that this Lady of the Night clearly admires Athena.

Though she doesn’t speak much, whenever mentioning the Greek Triad, it’s always about Athena.

As for the other two... Celene always seems to be contemplating how beautiful these three deities are, and once they enter Toril, what kind of disturbances will they cause.

The two Goddesses aside, the Elf Deity System might become quite lively.

Though Toril’s male gods also fall into love stories, they, not, or rather, those capable of persuading the two Greek Goddesses, remain reserved.

But Apollo.

That incredibly handsome Apollo will undoubtedly make Shuni and the others jealous.

Celene is the standard carefree Moon Goddess... To think she could foresee her friends doing scary things before it happens just shows how much trouble Shuni and her group of Goddess of Lust have caused.

Lansendel is rather alright; he clearly just wants to watch the show.

Apollo’s existence will surely make Amanata, who has given him quite a headache, restless.

Maybe he’ll do something foolish, and Toril might just change its sun.

Speaking of the sun... Hill’s attention once again shifts to the sun that no longer hosts any deities.

At this moment, Aislin should be absorbing nutrients on that twin yin-yang Core.

Yet, Hill is a bit curious... what sort of existence Aislin will become... Even if it’s a locator, there should be a title, right?

Facing Hill’s inquiry, Lansendel smiled openly, ”Hill, you didn’t have much friendship with Aislin, right?”

”Just acquaintances.” Hill thought about it... he still doesn’t think Aislin has the qualification to be considered a familiar acquaintance.

”Then don’t worry.” Lansendel shook his head, ”I’m not that cold-hearted deity; if her own soul is innocent enough, I might grant her some Divine Power.

Sadly, even if her other two souls’ influences were stripped away, she herself clearly has committed many sins.

Then, regarding Styx, her soul is too weak, not even qualified for a glance from him.

So, she can only be a soul floating at a fixed place on Styx.”
