Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Celene blinked and turned to look at Hill... She felt that Shaer’s response wasn’t very rational.

Although Shuni had many flaws and was rather indifferent towards mortals, Celene didn’t think she was wrong.

The former Shuni wasn’t like this.

She used to be passionate, kind... Unfortunately, no matter how friendly she was to mortals, she couldn’t withstand Toril’s constant reboots.

So, although Celene didn’t agree with it, she didn’t dislike Shuni’s carefree attitude... One only changes drastically after having been hurt.

Especially after Mystree’s fall and the total destruction of the Naicer Empire, Shuni completely lost her attachment to the Mortal World.

She and that Elf Goddess of Love were always competing to see who had more powerful followers... So, it was indeed difficult for her influence to extend into the stronghold of the Elves.

Although Shuni also liked a strong body, she paid attention to looks, so naturally, she turned towards humans... Mages, by their nature, understand romance and fun a bit more, so during that period, most of her lovers were the top Archmages of Naicer.

And such mages were basically lords of the Floating City.

Even those who luckily survived to this day have mostly become Liches... and have to say goodbye to Shuni.

Though Shuni and her partners were just fleeting romances, she didn’t come away empty-handed.

Otherwise, those Archmages wouldn’t have had such a good relationship with her... Shuni could connect with many divine powerhouses from other universes, not because of Toril, but because of these Archmages with broad connections.

So, even without those romantic ties, Shuni cherished those friends... Although Celene couldn’t understand their strange friendship: her shallow understanding of the matter left the Silvermoon Maiden full of questions seeing Shuni’s lovers talking and laughing together.

However, Celene admitted that their feelings weren’t fake.

Otherwise, Shuni wouldn’t have completely lost her true sincerity towards people later on.

Now, she only cares about who can bring her joy, rather than finding joy with someone else.

Celene could hear the malice in Shaer’s tone... She had to find someone sensible to explain whether that Greek Goddess of Love was good or bad, otherwise, how could she discuss this with Shuni?

She couldn’t just praise Shuni using that Goddess of Love, and then be told a few days later that the thing was dirtier than An... ah, no, dirtier than Rose!

Hill tugged at the end of his hair, pondering his words: ”Lady Shuni merely follows her nature and divinity, and doesn’t quite deserve to be shamed in comparison to that Greek Goddess of Love.”

Celene turned to stare at Shaer: ”Hasn’t Shuni’s protection of me already passed?

Why do you still hate her so much?

What should I do if I really believe you?”

Shaer raised her eyebrows in disbelief: ”You’re asking me?

Celene, did you leave your brain on the moon?

Please go get it back, I can’t stand your stupidity.”

Celene blinked, then quietly turned back and smiled nonchalantly: ”Ah, that’s... Athena?

She is the War God of the Greek Gods, right?

She’s really capable, even the Gorilla couldn’t fully suppress her!”

Hill remained silent; he actually wanted to praise Athena’s unrivaled courage, and the unmatched skill of Artemis, who was behind her with her bow and arrows.

But, he had no desire to respond to Celene’s comment.

Truly... every time he thought Celene was somewhat capable, this Silvermoon Maiden managed to prove otherwise with her actions.

Although Hill could understand intuition-based beings could only do one thing at a time... multitasking causes them to hang, leading to doing and saying incredible things.

But... this was going a bit too far, wasn’t it?

What line of thinking led her to ask ’What should I do if I believe you’?

Whatever Shaer says to others might be 70-80% false, but to her, it’s definitely 100%, right?

Only the things both parties know are real; it’s the basic understanding of communicating with Shaer!

Even for Hill, half of the answers he got were actually false, requiring him to judge which part was true...

Shaer may not maliciously deceive him, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t deceive him.

Celene should surely know her sister better than Hill... yet she still blurts out such nonsense as if she suddenly had a blood rush.

Hill could suddenly understand why Shaer and she never agreed on anything.

”Hmm?” Celene pointed at a blond-haired youth cautiously revealing half his head from behind a tree, ”Who is he, what’s he up to?”

”Ah, the Greek God System’s Sun God Apollo, he’s not asleep?” Hill quickly recognized the bright young man.

Then he slowly realized that although this guy was also reckless and ruthless, selfish and greedy, he was actually not bad among that group of Greek Gods.

At least, a bit stronger than that Cupid.

After all, he only fought for himself and didn’t meddle in other matters.

If his sister could escape the fate of slumber, perhaps he could too.

Moreover, the Greek gods sometimes seemed wanton, but there were other reasons.

Especially Apollo and Artemis... like Athena, although they were openly loved by Zeus, they were actually under surveillance and guarded against.

Moreover, there was Queen Hera watching them intently from above.

Just as Athena would never show appreciation or enthusiasm for anyone... her childhood experiences already taught her that friends are nice, but she couldn’t have any.

Apollo and Artemis were the same, anyone around them might be a hidden threat.

However, unlike the mighty Athena who could completely rely on herself to withstand everything, they had to depend on Zeus’s protection... publicly, they had to play the part of good children.

So, these siblings had a ruthless style when doing things.

But as long as you don’t get close to them, there shouldn’t be any problem... The deities on Mount Olympia understand this.

Anyone who still wants to get close is courting death, and they only have themselves to blame.

The only exception, due to other deities’ harassment... No one knew if Cupid’s recklessness was a test by someone or not.

The Greek Gods forever used the chaos on the surface to cover their own insecurities and rebellions.

Who could resist the existence of the Divine King after all!

Moreover, Zeus happened to have a mother who wasn’t interested in usurping him, only interested in romance... The deaths of the previous two Divine Kings couldn’t apply to him.

So, Zeus’s children lived the toughest lives.

No one could really see their true nature or what wrongs they committed.

Until their disaster... the ones who remain clear-headed now are probably those who did wrongs only to protect themselves.

”Apollo has a famous Divine Longbow.” Hill looked carefully again, ”But his shooting ability is not as good as his sister’s, so he can only rely on the bow’s automatic shooting to lock on to targets.

But if this bow is used in combination with Artemis’s Moon God Bow, its lethality can be multiplied tenfold.”

”Wait... do you mean that Apollo’s combat power is not as good as his sister’s?” Celene understood and was very surprised, ”But I’ve heard... Apollo can compete for the War God’s position with that War God Ares!”

She just couldn’t recognize who was who, but she remembered some common knowledge when names were mentioned.

Hill snorted: ”Tampas and Heim, which do you think is stronger?”

”Are you swearing at someone?” Celene thought about it, but still couldn’t figure it out in the end.

”Pretty much the same.” Shaer replied calmly, ”Previously, one could say Heim and Tampas have better character than Ares.

But now, even that can’t be said for Heim.”

Celene could still understand the implications in her sister’s words, and she couldn’t help but scratch her long hair: ”Truly... why not learn something good?”

Hill pondered the different God Systems circulating over there and silently turned his head... God Systems, it’s better to find your own path; learning from anyone else is learning the path to death.

”Are only these few people left awake in the Greek God System?” Celene shook her head and focused back on the battlefield, ”Right, why is the Double-headed Ape so interested in them?

The other lords have all rushed up, but he’s still here fighting Athena.

Although the fight is indeed refreshing, he shouldn’t be insane, right?

At this time, isn’t he supposed to be mainly guided by the will of the Bottomless Abyss?”

”Didn’t Asmodier become a god and swallow one of the sources of the Greek God System!” Hill thought of this point after confirming AO and the Bottomless Abyss had taken an interest in the Greek God System, ”He not only healed his severely wounded body but also made his once vague divinity clearer and more determined... which shows the Primordial Power of the Greek God System is quite useful.

The Double-headed Ape has a mission, which is why he’s entangled with Athena until now.

He is estimated to be aiming for the slumbering Zeus.

That guy is plagued with sin, yet relies on the Power of Thunder to protect his Divine Soul... Otherwise, he would’ve already been wiped out by the Positive Energy of the Heavenly Mountain.

He is in the Heavenly Mountain like... uh... as if Bane has made a nest there.”

Celene immediately understood: ”The Bottomless Abyss wants to devour Zeus to perfect its own Law?

We can’t let them succeed!”

”If Hill can see it, do you think the old man can’t?” Shaer suddenly mocked and laughed, ”But if he also wants to target the Greek God System, then Zeus must not be allowed to return alive.”

”Then what can he do?” Celene asked puzzled, ”If killing him completely were possible, I don’t think Athena and the others would give him a chance of survival.”

She still knew the fun of those years.
