Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Shaer’s latest big move has once again attracted the attention of a certain bystanding entity there.

Although her gigantic curtain was dizzying, the shadows she could utilize were limited, so she inevitably bumped into the Peeker who was there first.

Hill, watching the giant screen, caught a glimpse of a pale small face flash by and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Cyric actually appeared quite delicate, not as ominous and frightening as the legends suggest.

Thus, even with his mouth slightly open and a look of surprise, he didn’t appear unattractive.

Indeed, even mere mortals who become Professionals, after having their physiques refined by mana, turn out much more outstanding. How could a deity, using their mortal visage, possibly turn ugly?

Even the Evil God aiming to scare followers wouldn’t alter their face, merely enhancing their daunting presence... How many mortals can truly see their real appearances?

Cyric might behave like a clown, but that doesn’t mean he looks like one.

Also, he inherently understands what beauty is.

Otherwise, Heim... sigh, no matter how narrow-minded, showy, or insane this one acts, Hill’s first reaction is always that touching meeting.

Thus, it’s understandable why Shuni hates him so... Even the one who witnessed the three-person date understood she’s the one who won Heim’s love. The other merely wrangled a one-night stand with persistence.

But no one can deny that Heim first ended up in Cyric’s bed.

And this absurdly sensational act that shook the Multiverse, as long as Cyric is active, won’t fade from people’s mouths.

Whenever they see Cyric, it’s hard not to recall this scandal.

Though time may pass until all those with memory of this among humans are gone... that would only affect mortals. Hill, being of the Eternal Race, could never forget.

For Shuni, who is inherently proud and even competes with the Elf Goddess of Love for the title of ’most beautiful and favored,’ it’s quite difficult.

”Hmm... Cyric is actually quite good-looking~” Even Celene, who rarely discusses the matter due to her connection with Shuni, couldn’t help but voice such an evaluation upon seeing a zoomed-in image of Cyric’s small face.

Hmm... If this were before the incident, all she would have said is: So Cyric was hiding here.

Hill casually raised his glass, obscuring his face to hide perhaps a hint of nausea in his expression.

Zeus, after all, is a sky deity, so his blood flowing from that massive body should be golden... theoretically.

Artemis and Athena both sustained injuries battling Dimogogan, and their blood glistened with that shiny gold hue.

However, Zeus, probably due to having rolled around in Hell and being designated an Evil God, could only rely on Thunder to protect him while hiding in the mountains of Olympia, evading attacks from Positive Energy ... his blood was more like liquid copper.

The blood tinged with yellow had a tinge of gray-black light shimmering upon it.

Hill didn’t want to dwell on negative thoughts... but the color was no better than the big pit Rose had caused back then.

Besides, Dimogogan may have also been struck by Thunder here, sometimes causing black or dark red objects to drift up... Tsk, Hill despised his own overly vivid imaginative power!

He even avoided watching Athena, wielding a saw-like tool, ceaselessly slicing up the half-remnant corpse.

Though Celene continuously praised the extraordinary goddess’s dazzling presence, Hill couldn’t stand to see that beautiful blood-splattered face.

”She seems quite certain that what she wants hasn’t been taken by Dimogogan.

Could it... be her associated Divine Artifact?” Shar’s less peculiar way of wondering made more sense compared to Celene’s odd focus.

Yet, these two sisters, despite their differing interests, didn’t focus on the most critical point.

”No, aren’t you all asking where Zeus’s head is?” Lansendel couldn’t contain his disbelief.

Lying there on the giant corpse, there was no visible head.

Yet they could all see... it’s an animated corpse.

It means Zeus’s most crucial survival asset, his head, was intact, and his Divine Fire and Divine Crystal remained.

Theoretically, as long as the intact head exists, he shouldn’t die.

Hence, Zeus was split into this state alive... Probably able to witness how he was cut apart himself.

For the Bottomless Abyss, those Divine Crystals and Divinity items are handy but expendable... it needs flesh more than anything.

Thus, Dimogogan took the parts below the navel.

Though placed in a worn-out bag... the shape was evident to everyone.

Surely the head wasn’t inside.

Athena, evidently having her goal, clearly didn’t care where the head wound up.

As for Apollo... Hill was now looking at the Sun God in a new light.

He was forcing his most renowned Laurel crown into Zeus’s already split-open chest... seemingly soaking it in heart blood.

As for Zeus’s famed golden diamond-like heart intertwined with Thunder, it was long shattered into fragments.

The one who acted was obviously Athena... Although she currently held a dismembering saw in her hand, there was also an axe and a chisel placed at her feet.

Hill suspected that Shaer’s surprise was seeing the end of Athena’s chiseling... After all, that cutting motion clearly had just begun.

Hearing Lansendel’s question, Shaer let out a cold laugh, ”If it’s not Cyric, then it’s that Hermes you mentioned, or perhaps, it’s AO who’s intervened directly, why concern about so many?

For us, isn’t the most important thing whether this Athena, who will eventually enter Toril and become the backbone among the three exiled Greek deities, has some trump card?

Hmm... What is that?

What’s with Athena?”

A look of sorrow was written all over Athena’s face as she mournfully picked up an unusually styled chessboard.

”What is there to be sad about?” Apollo stood up, turning to look at her, ”Didn’t we always guess that Metis couldn’t possibly survive?”

Athena tightly closed her eyes, ”She could have survived.

Metis, if she chose not to let me be born, and remained in the form of that transformed tool swallowed by Zeus, she could have lived in Zeus’ belly indefinitely.

Then, waiting for the right moment, absorbing the essence of Zeus’ flesh, she would give birth to that legendary son who could kill Zeus... She is the true goddess of wisdom, how could she not consider this best outcome?

Why! I... I...”

Apollo sighed, ”Athena, calm yourself.

Our existence owes to our mother’s love, do not squander it.”

He weighed the laurel crown in his hand, ”Compared to my days, aren’t you living much more comfortably?

The Sun God’s chase for the laurel... Ha~ In the end, I still have to take this thing as my symbol!

Playing the fool for so many years, I’m almost becoming a real fool!”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh... Exactly how many stories in Greek mythology are true?

”Does the laurel have any significance, Hill?” Celene turned her head to look at Hill, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.

She was very interested in anything related to the moon.

Hill smiled helplessly and recounted the story of Apollo and Daphne to her.

”That poor Daphne, but it wasn’t really Apollo’s fault...” Celene couldn’t help but sigh after understanding, ”But, why does something like Cupid exist?

How could there be something that blinds deities so easily?

Isn’t he the Sun God?”

”I thought you would hate Hyacinthus more!” Even filled with sorrow, Athena couldn’t help but ask a more sensitive question.

”Hyacinthus is the embodiment of which of Apollo’s lovers?” Lansendel was also curious.

”A beautiful youth.” Hill hesitated for a moment before answering slowly, ”Accidentally killed by another deity who admired this beautiful youth, then he transformed into a hyacinth.”

”What nonsense is this?” Lansendel felt there was something wrong with his ears, ”Aren’t they all deities?

Even Marla has her own place to accommodate her followers!”

”Hyacinthus, at least, was my choice!” Apollo’s voice was icy cold, ”Daphne, was someone I knew was wrong, yet had to pursue anyway!

Moreover... that Daphne, who crazily rejected me, might not really have been the true Daphne.

Cupid’s arrows aren’t that effective on true deities.

If it was Daphne herself, she couldn’t possibly be unaware of her own issue... When did our Greek nymphs become so resigned to life?

I am Apollo... not some ugly thing like Poseidon!

Heh~ If I hadn’t acted so persistent, who do you think Daphne would have become then?”

Hill listened, pursing his lips... Greek nymphs have never been chaste and unambitious beings.

Otherwise, Athena and Artemis wouldn’t have gained combat powers just for the vow of chastity.

Although Hill had some suspicions... he decided not to ponder it.

It was a bit too disgusting.

Though Apollo indeed didn’t mind either gender, that didn’t mean he wanted to be suppressed, especially not by something like that, right?

Hill watched as Apollo inserted the entire laurel crown into Zeus’ heart, unable to suppress a faint sympathy for this Sun God... Choosing to resolutely play the fool in such difficult times indeed showed remarkable willpower!

Athena stood up, delivering a harsh kick to Zeus’ remains, ”Heh~ If Metis weren’t still in his body, why would I save him from Hell?

This kind of person should be left to languish in Hell!”

”That ending, for him, would be too good.” Apollo responded with indifference.
