Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 892: Chapter 688: Is Midnight Luck Good or Bad?

Hill smiled, lowered his head and counted the number of strange objects on the terrace. He could feel the severity of the obsessive-compulsive disorder of this group of Dragon Liches. Sixty-eight treasures, not only closely matched in level, but their values were also very comparable.

Sixty-eight, these should be all the Dragon Liches belonging to the Dragon Cult on the Ferun Great Land.

It doesn’t sound like much, but Hill remembered that before Dragon Madness, there were less than twenty.

The power of the Dragon Cult... after expelling and killing most of the human-converted Dragon Lich members, has instead become very powerful. The Chromatic Dragon Queen’s efforts were not wasted at all.

Currently, the Dragon Cult still has human members, but these people can no longer transform into the forms of giant dragons, and are merely Dragon People controlled by the Dragon Liches. Their Soulfire and bodies are held within the claws of these giant dragons.

Just some puppets, most of them are used for intelligence gathering and as low-level goons.

The envoy chosen by the Dragon Cult was indeed well-suited. It seems they already had some understanding of Hill and specifically sent Elsela, a Lich who wouldn’t provoke the wrath of nature, to Agleya.

When a Gem Dragon turns into a Dragon Lich, its body and mind undergo severe conflict. Most of the time, the soul is in a strange state of astral travel. Only two have persisted until they successfully maintained the activation of their dragon body with Spiritual Power.

Currently, Elsela is in a state between life and death.

And before killing the White Dragon Queen, Elsela had been trying hard to maintain his sanity and prevent any deviation in his obsession.

At least so far, this Topaz Dragon Lich hasn’t committed any crimes. He even maintains friendly relations with some of his Topaz Dragon relatives.

For forces like Hill’s that are relatively friendly with giant dragons, they wouldn’t shout and kill at the sight of a Dragon Lich. Like the Natural Consciousness beside Hill, though it didn’t like Elsela, it could tolerate his presence.

But those in the Dragon Cult who enjoy creating the Undead won’t be received so peacefully.

Natural Consciousness just dislikes people who turn themselves into the Undead, but those who turn others into the Undead would earn its disgust and hatred.

Hill calculated the total value of these strange objects and couldn’t help but widen his eyes... He discovered that this group of Dragon Liches judged the value of ancient green dragons based on the total price of various strange objects made by disassembling the dragon’s bones and skin.

If it hadn’t been for Hill seeing the evaluation of the total price of finished products made from another ancient green dragon of the same level brought by Lynn, he probably wouldn’t have reacted so quickly... But even after Hill took a piece of dragon skin, the final evaluation was still between two million to three million.

And these strange objects altogether were about 2.5 million.

Hill asked Elsela with a peculiar expression: ”Aren’t you afraid that Claujeliatmata will go crazy after your valuation of her?”

”Claujeliatmata will understand... For humans, a dead dragon is far more valuable than a living one.” Elsela said without blinking, ”When we see an adversarial dragon that we can take down, we value it the same way.

If you look at those giant dragons that extort regions or countries, you’ll understand that the price they demand is mostly their own worth plus a margin.

Their worth is the baseline.

Even the Chromatic Dragons have given humans room for negotiation.”

Hill fell silent... Are the giant dragons’ mental gaps connected to the Bottomless Abyss?

Still unable to comprehend, Hill asked this Topaz Dragon Lich to wait a moment while he put away the strange objects, planning to release the female green dragon first.

Elsela nodded understandingly, knowing that the place capable of detaining an ancient dragon must be the most heavily guarded location in this city, and he certainly couldn’t be let inside.

Nor was he interested.

He was willing to do this just because Agleya City over by Sword Bay is very powerful, not too far from his cave. Elsela didn’t want to offend such a powerful force over a trivial issue with the Dragon Cult.

Of course, before the problem with the Weave, a Dragon Lich skilled in magic wouldn’t have chosen such a humiliating retreat either.

The result of over sixty Dragon Liches taking action together, not even Coron could bear it.

But in the current situation... forget it! Even if they won, most of these Liches would still perish.

Although Liches can be resurrected afterward, given the current state of Origin Power, no one knows if they would sleep for a thousand years... No Dragon Lich is willing to sacrifice themselves over such a minor matter.

Hill arrived at the cavern, pushed open the door, and looked at the green dragon below fiercely gnawing on a roasted beef leg and said: ”Claujeliatmata, your redeemer has come.”

He glanced at the dragon’s wings, which hadn’t fully healed yet, and with a friendly gesture provided an after-sales service, giving her a healing spell.

Claujeliatmata hesitated for a moment before saying: ”You’re probably not going to give me back my storage tools, so can you let me finish eating this meat before I leave?”

Hill looked helplessly at the dragon that seemed intent on staying longer and used a bit of force to retract the two doors back into his pendant: ”Now... do we still need to wait?”

Claujeliatmata stood up slowly, regretfully saying, ”Won’t it be used anymore? It can still be a prison!

I can help you guard it! As long as meals are provided. No need to waste golems, they’re so expensive!

I’m a Druid and can help you plant Lasp Trees and Blue-leaf Trees all over this mountain.

Those are the trees I specialize in, and the yearly income can reach 5000 gold!”

Hill straightforwardly declined, ”I’m sorry, Ms. Claujeliatmata, but my territory is orderly good, and does not accept citizens from the evil faction.”

The ancient green dragon drooped its wings in disappointment, taking out a deep green scale, and using dragon spell magic, turned it into a small pouch and put the remaining food in.

Hill blinked: The scale in Claujeliatmata’s hand should have fallen during the time he broke her wing.

This dragon really knows how to live frugally!

Hill walked lightly ahead of the green dragon, not caring at all that Claujeliatmata followed him heavily, for now, he wasn’t afraid of any ambush.

Upon leaving the cave, the green dragon looked up to see Elsela on the Otherworldly Whale peering over, suddenly stomping and flying up, ”Why is it you, Elsela? How dare you leave your lair? Aren’t you afraid of Elvia Tulais taking over your old nest?”

”No one else dared to come.” Elsela was completely unfazed by the green dragon’s sarcasm, ”Looking at your display, you seem quite healthy, so I’m heading back, just like you said, gotta protect the homeland!”

He instantly returned to his deep yellow dragon form, ”Then I’ll take my leave, honorable Lord of Agleya. I hope our next meeting won’t be for such humiliating reasons.”

Claujeliatmata angrily chased after him, ”Elsela! You coward! Who are you talking about?”

Watching the two dragons leave in pursuit, Hill shook his head helplessly.

”Are they worried you’ll intercept?” Lynn emerged from the opposite forest, revealing the duo’s interplay.

”Why are you here?” Hill laughed, ”They would certainly do that themselves, so naturally they worry about me. Just ignore them, as long as they don’t dare come again.”

”The Undead Tribe was a little restless upon seeing them, seems like they want a closer look at other dragons.” Lynn sighed, ”I can only say they’re your guests, so interfering isn’t good.

Fortunately, they shouted in Draconic, which the Undead Tribe doesn’t understand.”

”The majority should be heading to Deepwater City by now? I see the water network is almost completed.” Hill walked over and strolled through the forest with Lynn.

Since the Wood Elves became part of Agleya City, this Green Forest belonged to Hill’s territory, otherwise, he wouldn’t occupy this mountain range.

”More than half left, but a small portion seemed interested in farming, following the druids to help with planting flowers and trees.” Lynn said in some surprise, ”But the druids say they’re not particularly passionate about nature, it’s more out of curiosity.

When druids used divine arts for cultivating plants, the Undead Tribe seemed uninterested, but now doing it by hand, they’re quite active.

Are all the Undead Tribe from noble origins? The last time I saw something like this was a duchess who wanted to try out the life of commoners.”

”It’s actually quite similar, a life of ease, peace, learning all sorts of knowledge from a young age.” Hill thought for a while before answering, even Toril’s minor nobles might not have such a good life.

”Well, other worlds, even beautiful ones have nothing to do with me.” Lynn shook his head, softly saying, ”Though in Deepwater City, the Undead Tribe had just gone over for a day and got into a fight with the most outrageous gang backed by the City Guard, the Dagger Gang.”

”Deepwater City’s knack for killing the donkey after unloading the grindstone is still high!” Hill commented with a sigh.

The City Guard’s fate always ends up being discarded after use, while also being recycled to test how much strength the Undead Tribe still has to offer.

”No reaction from the Black Tower?” Lynn asked, knowing Hill had ways to monitor Kelben’s side.

”None.” Hill said regretfully, ”Only Laila occasionally takes the children out to bask in the sun; she’s still not one to be trifled with.”

”It’s a real pity...” Lynn’s words went unfinished, but Hill understood, it was a pity about why Laila suddenly brought her children back to Deepwater City instead of staying in the City of Hope, Remanx.

He was just about to reply but his thought was interrupted, Hill’s hairbell gently chimed.

He looked up in surprise, then pulled Lynn directly back to the study in the Floating Castle.

Lynn looked in surprise at Lily of the Valley holding a silver-black drop-shaped gemstone. The image floating above her head was somewhat blurry but clear enough for people to understand what was happening.

There was already contact between the Undead Tribe and that Edna Maxwell.

Hill’s face was strange as he looked at the young girl opposite her, ’Old Age Striking King’ pointing at her dress saying something, probably asking where the dress was made.
