Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 888: Chapter 684: A Strange Gift from Coron

Coron is really meticulous when he puts his heart into things.

Hill carefully suppressed his mana, pondering as he cast Nature’s Blessing to help the transplanted precious trees root and grow.

Watching the circle of trees stretch their branches and leaves, Hill turned and walked into the hall, handing the Space Crystal from the small box to the Temporal Artifact.

And received the thank-you gift from William.

A large piece of Resilient Crystal and several pieces of Star Drift Iron: Resilient Crystal is a unique crystal from Heaven, a resilient light gold crystal that has absorbed the inner strength of a deity slumbering beneath the mountains. When crafted into weapons, even attacks from non-kind alignments can be considered kind.

Mages really like this thing since there are always those who want to deal with devils from Hell or demons from the Abyss, and this thing can harm those creatures more than they themselves can.

Of course, on the surface, the pursuit of this holy crystal is always said to be to counter evil forces.

However, for someone like Hill, the most important thing is that accessories and strange objects made from Resilient Crystal can enhance all his divine arts, even against Puzzle Locks.

Seeing this piece of crystal, Hill decided to use it to enhance his Crystal Flower.

He has no confidence in the future of Toril... a world that could shatter at any moment, life for ordinary people is truly difficult.

As for Star Drift Iron, this thing is heavy and difficult to craft, but it can be used to defend against spiritual body attacks. Magic arrays designed with it at the center can form protective fields that deal significant damage to ghosts and some incorporeal demons, and this material can only be found on some drifting islands in the Stellar Realm.

Hill suspects this is the result of the God of Time and Space’s wanderings back then, and the rarity of this material is comparable to that of half-planes. Even if it has no immediate use, it’s definitely a material that Hill, who is interested in Alchemy, would like.

Hill is really satisfied with William’s gift; he originally thought William would just give him a top-grade Space Crystal directly.

In terms of value, they are indeed about the same, but these two items made Hill feel the sincerity.

Receiving carefully chosen gifts always brings joy.

Hill received a definite message from the Temporal Artifact: three days later, Toril’s Origin Power will no longer have major fluctuations, and the Undead Tribe will return promptly by then.

Hill smiled slightly, it sounds simple, but it represents a very troublesome matter... Shaer’s efforts have completely failed, and the Shadow Weave will never return to her hands.

William didn’t talk much about Shaer’s issue; he seems to really like this black-haired, black-eyed goddess.

But actually, anyone can figure out how angry and frenzied this goddess is now; all the hard calculations, and in the end, she got nothing. What does it matter if the Shadow Realm is strengthened?

That belonged to her in the first place!

One of the purposes of her stirring up this matter was to strengthen the Shadow Weave. However, now, the Shadow Weave is indeed much stronger, just no longer belongs to her.

As for Suren... she remains silent, and no one knows her current state.

But the unstable Origin Power indeed caused many pseudo-gods who barely held Suren’s divinity to lose their power in this turmoil, and the divine power swept by the Origin did not go to the pseudo-gods when it returned, all directly sought Suren.

And the Power of the Silvermoon within the Weave... actually returned to its rightful owner.

Suren’s moon divinity should be fully recovered this time, the divine power of moonlight... which Mystra occupied for a long time without returning it.

This situation shows why, during the Years of Turmoil, Suren chose to turn to the Goddess of Love and Beauty, Shuni, instead of the more powerful Mystra.

Indeed, when the Weave first formed, it used Suren’s divine power, which cannot be torn down and returned to the Silvermoon Goddess. But it’s obvious that Mystra wanted to completely snatch the moonlight and moonfire divinity from Suren.

Midnight was unaware of many things, never considered some hidden aspects of the Weave important, and she certainly never synchronized those two divinities. Since her ascension, Suren became noticeably more active.

Hill estimates she gained the most benefit this time, but before Celene’s radiance lights up the night sky, he can’t say anything. At this moment, no one knows that Suren is the one quietly profiting the most.

If Shaer knew her efforts eventually benefited Suren, allowing her foolish sister to return to powerful divine strength, she would probably go even crazier.

In fact... after this matter becomes irreversible, Shaer might directly act to kill the newly returned Midnight, and everyone can understand her mindset: If the world collapses again creating a merged Weave, collapsing it again might just separate them.

If this Lady of the Night never gives up, then Midnight as Mystra really has a grim future ahead!

Unless she can completely integrate into the divinity of the Goddess of Magic, and give up those thoughts that don’t align with her divinity, otherwise she will always leave a gap for Shaer to exploit.

Hill left the Alchemy Hall and found that Marsha and List were finally able to manifest their own bodies. Lynn was happily chatting with them under that silver tree.

Although during this period, List and Marsha could also speak normally with him, face-to-face interaction is always different.

”List, Marsha, welcome home.” Hill laughed cheerfully, ”Can you appear in other places too?”

”No, only the space around this tree is stable enough.” List replied, ”Leaving this vicinity still causes some fluctuations, so for safety’s sake, we can’t come out yet.”

Hill nodded regretfully and then smiled as he informed them, ”In three days it’ll be fine. The Undead Tribe can appear in large numbers, so you should have no problem.”

Then he turned to Lynn, ”Dear Lynn, you can start preparing to hire undead adventurers, but they are limited to using spells below the fifth circle, some past experiences are temporarily unusable.”

Lynn sighed and asked, ”Aren’t they affected by the chaos of the Weave? I can’t even use a divine spell, and there are always strange problems.”

The gods are also helpless now... They still don’t know how to bypass the Shadow Weave entangled with the Weave in granting divine spells to their followers: Holy Power passing through the evil path, it’s no wonder it doesn’t extinguish!

”Their way of spellcasting is more like directly turning their bodies into a magic book that stores magic, only able to use the spells fixed on it. Because they’re not flexible enough, they can only work in groups, but at this time, it’s profitable.” Hill explained.

Lynn pondered for a moment and said, ”Aren’t they somewhat similar to those sorcerers with purer bloodlines, having very few spells but not needing to memorize magic models?”

Hill nodded, ”Yes.”

Lynn clicked his tongue, unsure whether to feel envious or jealous, simply remarked on a more important matter: ”Although during spring plowing, I’m very happy to have so many helpers, the water network and canals you originally planned can start immediately.

But with the number and speed of the Undead Tribe’s work, farmland tasks can only last a week at most, what about afterward?”

”First, let them support Neverwinter City!

But you have to find a way to get the old king of Neverwinter to invite them first. If they think they can hold on without external aid, they can go to Deepwater City.

Isn’t the gang that extended their hand to our Agleya still very active?” Hill laughed delightfully, ”Let the Undead Tribe relieve the unhappy Hill!

Poor Lord Hill feels very frustrated being looked down on by such garbage!”

Lynn was silent for a few seconds before asking, ”If they go to Deepwater City, some stories may change in tone! Is that okay?”

”In the world of the Undead Tribe, there are no such words as ’can’t do it’!” Hill declared firmly, preferring comedies over boring melodramas.

Lynn nodded solemnly, ”I’ll go set up the initial tasks with the Temporal Artifact, then see how Neverwinter City reacts, and decide the next step from there.”

Watching Lynn’s resolute back, Hill asked List a little puzzled, ”What is Lynn thinking? Why do I feel like he looks like he’s heading to the execution ground?”

List replied with a strange expression, ”Perhaps he’s thinking... if that Goddess of Magic turns into the kind of personality of an Undead Tribe girl, no one knows what the future of the Toril World will become.”

Hill blinked, ”Eh~ List, don’t you think such a future is quite nice? The Undead Tribe girls are very carefree! Their actions are decisive and fierce, even their tea is distinct and unique.”

List had no desire to respond to Hill’s wild imagination. He tried to calculate what would happen to Toril if there really was a Mystra like the ’Old Age Striking King’ or ’Cunlü’.

His core nearly crashed, luckily he stopped in time.

”Sir, aren’t you going back to see Coron’s gift?” List diverted this meaningless topic, ”I think you’ll definitely find it interesting.”

Hill blinked regrettably, ”Alright~ no more talking.

Go notify Purwell and the little fairies, in three days they can move freely within the Puzzle Lock, but not outside yet.

Also, tell them that the Little Fairy Court should be attached to the Elf Deity System, so there’s no danger.”

Hill turned back to his floating castle, and in three days, he wouldn’t need to bounce around like a jumping bean.

Returning to the study, Hill opened the small leather pouch tied with a ribbon, then looked bewildered at its contents: a thick black leather glove covering the back of the hand and fingers, layered with silver-black mithril alloy plates.

In the glove’s five fingers was a cyan cup, the body crafted into the shape of a finely-cut gemstone, with the handle carved into a dwarf warrior swinging an axe at the cup’s gem-like surface.

Why did Coron gift him a dwarf’s mind-awakening mug?
