Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 855: Chapter 651: High-grade Artifact of the Sun God Sect

Behind Hill, dozens of dragon ships quietly anchored on the ocean, although the divine dragons would repel any unwelcome guests, like those losers who still dared to run to Reception Island after fighting.

But when they started fighting, no one could hide what they were actually up to.

The real merchant ships... wouldn’t leave at this time, not only must they go together, but they must also hire the Dragon Navy fleet to escort them through the Great Sea.

Usually, they wait until the fighting is over to set off, but this year it might be even later. The Renhe family sending themselves to die is one thing, but a large number of side personnel in the Navy need to be reassessed.

This was all thanks to the Navy Admiral’s brave fight in the court, almost beating a few Ministers to death to save the smallest cost; otherwise, those guys intended to kill everyone related to those families.

This wasn’t for the Emperor’s benefit. To truly enter the Navy fleet, loyalty oaths must be sworn. They just wanted to get their family members into the strongest Navy.

So, even when the Emperor hadn’t spoken, the Navy still managed to protect most of their companions.

But the investigators looked into almost every petty thing; even if someone only said a few extra words out of family sentiment, it wouldn’t directly lead to execution, but it would disqualify them from staying in the Navy.

It’s a bit better here on Reception Island; everyone feels much freer.

Due to his position as Chief Inspector, he represented the Emperor here. The inspection questionnaires were directly cut in half by his big gesture, otherwise, the managers of Reception Island would have problems.

Working here, who wouldn’t want to inform their families, or flex a little power? It’s not like it’s harming national interests.

Every year after the auction ends, the Shulong Empire must patrol its Seas.

After all, once that merchant disguise is removed, Shulong certainly wouldn’t openly welcome pirate ships.

But the main task of these ships is actually to clear the debris from the sea surface and seabed, preventing it from drifting into Shulong waters on the waves. Who knows what kind of trash these pirate ships might bring, and if some evil spirits come with them, Reception Island would be criticized.

We can’t let the divine dragon lord kill people and then have to clean up the mess themselves!

On a large cleanup ship in the rear, the Chief Inspector, who came along to spectate, patted his belly with a laugh: ”Boys, let’s head back! This year was really easy.”

The dragon ships leisurely made their way back, and laughter and cheers rose from each one. This job was hard and paid little, so everyone was glad not to have to do it themselves.

As for the gold and silver jewelry, strange objects, and jade from the pirate ships, which dragon would miss those?

The seas of the Shulong Empire are indeed very safe, but similarly, no one would find any treasures. Even if a divine dragon saw a small pearl, they would unhesitatingly pick it up.

After the strange Maztika pirates were thoroughly annihilated, Hill remembered to turn them to dust and directly used a spell to throw them into an underground volcano; they weren’t even fit to feed the fish.

Come to think of it, he hadn’t used this siphon magic for a long time. Hill looked at his fingers, and sure enough, once you get accustomed to area-of-effect spells, you become lazy.

Hill sighed and let Purwell choose his way home, listening as Hill suggested choosing between a portal on the iceberg or swimming back through the ocean. Purwell hesitated for a moment before reluctantly saying, ”I can open my own portal, sir.”

Though Purwell enjoyed swimming in the ocean, if Hill was in a hurry, he could open a portal, after all, it’s the same world’s ocean, and with today’s absorbed magic power, he could teleport directly to Agleya.

That place was where he regained a new life; Purwell had long regarded that port as equally important as his hometown. He could find his way back from any plane.

When crossing universes, you just need to change through a few more planes.

Hill had wanted to fly slowly himself before, so he never mentioned teleportation, but Hill couldn’t forget his talent skills, could he?

Hill smiled: ”We’re not in a hurry to go home, you can swim leisurely, and when you’re tired of swimming, just head back.” Certainly, he remembered but saw no need. There’s nothing urgent now, so taking it slow is fine.

Leaving the terrace for the little fairies and Purwell to play, Hill returned to his study.

He sat in the armchair, letting out a gentle sigh.

His experiments with various magic types all proved that this was another synthetic species created by external forces, and it had already formed a system.

A full-resistance capability couldn’t possibly appear on humanoid creatures, so Hill knew something was off after a while of research, and he covertly added a bloodline tracing spell in the middle.

The Chromatic Dragon Queen truly was a master of human experimentation!

This hybrid of a green dragon, Tlincalli scorpion people, and Maztika dog people, how on earth did Madam manage to research that?

A green dragon with four legs, an eight-legged scorpion person, and a two-legged fanged human.

It makes Hill’s head spin just thinking about it.

Hill never intended to meddle in the dragon race’s matters; that Dragon Queen, even the unspeakably cold Abyssal Will of the Bottomless Abyss, ignored her.

If not for Bahamut, the Chromatic Dragon Queen would never have handled things so indirectly.

Hill closed the experimental manual; the Chromatic Dragon Queen’s purpose was clear, she wanted to develop a new race that could oppose Bahamut’s Dragon Servants.

These matters don’t concern Hill for now, as long as the Chromatic Dragon Queen’s hand doesn’t reach into humanity, few would intervene.

Frankly, no one wishes for Bahamut to grow unchecked without restraint.

The current situation is just right, though humans and Elves always suffer countless casualties from the Dragon Race’s battles, at least the continent is no longer ruled by dragons; those days were genuinely hopeless.

Hill sealed the booklet, his gaze shifting to the large boxes and two storage rings List brought.

The slender gemstone on the storage ring indicates that it’s the smallest type. The last time Hill saw such a ring was when Melanie left it for him, which he later gave to Boen.

It seems these pirates are indeed quite poor; a ring like this can be crafted by a mage of level 7 or so, yet they couldn’t afford it.

”Don’t the Wo people have rings?” Hill asked curiously, ”Their ships and abilities are stronger than the other side’s!”

These spoils were grouped together, indicating they were Mazteck Pirates’ belongings.

A storage ring can’t be smashed directly by spells unless specific methods are used, which simply means the Wo people have nothing.

”So the Wo people’s expenditure is also great; their ships are quick, and after looting, they send everything back to their lair, not needing to waste money on storage tools,” List answered.

Hill nodded understandingly; if they had money, the Wo people’s first action was to increase their combat power, then buy food and other life necessities to send home.

This world’s Wo people are worse off than those of the past; not only do they live with evil spirits, but eighty percent of Wo Island is volcanic, and only the flat land by the sea can support life, frequently afflicted by earthquakes and typhoons.

It’s like a cursed continent, where only creatures like volcanic snakes can thrive exceedingly well; no wonder the Wo people regard them as a faith.

So many Wo people piloting magic ships are tribe leaders leading teams themselves, just to scramble for the tribe’s subsistence; the harsh environment carved their fierce and cruel nature, being the pirates who leave no survivors after looting.

Due to this, apart from evil nations like Sel on the Ferun continent, most countries haven’t established diplomatic relations with the Wo Empire, and some kind alignment forces outright reject any Wo people entry.

Especially the Wo people at sea, there’s no faction upheaval issue if they’re all killed.

Hill took out his Magic Book, opened a dimensional space in the Magic Tower, and tossed the two rings inside to force them open.

Such rings hold no value for cautious handling.

Then he saw the cup he had quite an interest in: a gilded Holy Grail encrusted with gemstones, needing both hands to hold it.

Though it looked like a noble item infused with a Daylight Spell, Hill instantly noticed its uniqueness; the aura surrounding it was immensely pure.

He truly wanted to know its purpose, but the dreadful resentment on the things presented simultaneously prevented Hill from voicing an offer to buy.

Sometimes, just spending money encourages evil; he couldn’t do such.

Thankfully, these pirates’ eyes were clouded by past glory and they actually dared to attack him.

Rewarding good and punishing evil posed no problem.

Moreover, the other item beside it revealed the cup’s origins, explaining why these pirates would spend greatly to buy items from the Order of Light.

It was a white octagonal star attached to a chain made of gold and pearls; Hill hadn’t seen this amulet at the auction, indicating it had always been in their possession.

No wonder they were so eager for the cup; the amulet’s function isn’t trivial either, and paired with the cup, it’s definitely something good. Even if the pirates didn’t know it’s a Divine Artifact, they wouldn’t pass on it.

This is an exceptionally rare healing Class Divine Artifact! Moreover, when the amulet and cup are together, they can even produce Resurrection Elixirs!

It seems the day of the true Sun God’s resurrection is drawing nearer; otherwise, these high-grade artifacts of the Sun God Sect wouldn’t be emerging one after another.

Hill remembered the fallen Acreber Demigod; he was completely Orderly Good, and to this day, followers still incessantly seek this set of Divine Artifacts, being the sole proof of their deity’s existence.

Who would have thought, the first to gather it would be a bunch of pirates?

Suffice to say, no one on their ship could use these two items; it seems there’s a presence of a neutral faction in their lair.

Hill shook his head, quickly dispelling those odd musings... things like a dragon’s human concubine, and hastily freed his mind from it!
