Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 872: Chapter 668: Agleya City After the World Restructuring

Hill, who had calmed down, finally heard Lynn’s voice resounding throughout the city: He was using a voice transmission device to instruct all citizens to stay indoors, assuring them that the City Lord had been protecting and would continue to ensure everyone’s safety, as long as they obeyed.

Hill estimated that when the incident broke out, Lynn had already directed everyone to quickly return home, as he often dealt with sudden events while leading the original town’s residents against the Goblins from the desert, gaining plenty of experience.

Hill slowly released the Crystal Flower, weakly leaning against the pool wall, and used his fingers to brush the disheveled long hair off his shoulders and back, gradually restoring his spiritual power.

After becoming Legendary, Hill rarely found himself in such dire situations.

Although the time was short, the nearly hour-long support of the Puzzle Lock completely exhausted him.

Mana was depleted, and the Mental Sea was almost dry, leaving him to rely on slowly recovering on his own, not even daring to cast something as peaceful as the Water of Tranquility.

Fortunately, Hill retained some reason, as his warehouse always held a large stock of Blood and Mana Potions.

Any High-Level Spells must involve external Elements, and although Hill was a Magician, his skills resembled that of a Mage. Besides some spells that enhanced his own state, he dared not even use a long sword now.

If a strike of lightning were to occur, the barely maintained Crystal Wall might shatter right before him.

Hill touched his pendant, thankful that his storage devices didn’t require spells to open but rather spiritual power.

Once his spiritual power recovered slightly, he retrieved a bottle of Juice and sat in the pool, slowly sipping it.

Damn, in the future, I need to expand all my clothing pockets and neatly place potions. I’ve thought many times about how to deal with the aftereffects of the Weave’s collapse, but it always seemed far off, so I didn’t rush.

Truly, people without foresight must have immediate worries!

With a slight recovery of the Mental Sea, Hill attempted to observe his surroundings. Fortunately, within the Puzzle Lock’s range, the space remained stable.

The Floating Castle was eerily quiet, with all the Little Fairies retreating into Purwell’s body, and the Otherworldly Whale hiding within its strong defensive core center of its brain.

The vast body silently landed on that patch of pasture in front of the castle.

Marsha and List had already returned to their cores, as they manifested using Elemental Power, unable to appear now.

Hill gazed at his city, somewhat bewildered.

At last... he still managed to protect his home. Even though a frightening chasm appeared in the other half of the Green Forest, a sudden mountain stood there, blocking part of the road to Neverwinter.

Yet, the forest within the Puzzle Lock’s scope was preserved.

Hill silently witnessed that the mountain appeared more on the side of the Neverwinter Forest. Neverwinter, primarily based on the timber industry, had now lost half of its economic lifeline.

He sighed, having no mood to worry about others’ futures, continuing to observe his surrounding territory.

The Sword Mountain Range remained intact, but a body of water, uncertain whether a lake or sea, seemed to appear on the east side.

If it’s a lake, then Agleya City can engage in farming and livestock in the future. In the short term, Hill reckons he won’t have time to manage the large farmland over in Silvermoon City.

Ferun Great Land’s grain prices are sure to rise. Even though Hill stored enough food, offering citizens some spiritual solace would also be beneficial.

The former watercourses were drawn from the Sword Mountain Range, insufficient to support large-scale farm consumption.

Agleya City was silent, but the City Guard had already poured from the city hall into the streets, seemingly checking the city’s safety.

Hill saw Lynn’s figure, walking towards the Alchemy Hall, seemingly intending to find Coron.

Meanwhile, the Paladins of Tyr gathered in their Temple. However, their inability to contact Tyr seemed to make them anxious, and Hill could sense their prayers.

The only place showing a response was the Agleya Temple by the coast, where the statue in the Holy Water Hall continuously emitted a blue-white light, driven by numerous prayers for help amassed into formidable Faith Power.

Agleya’s unique way of managing faith, distinct from other Deities, allowed the entirety of Sword Bay under her Divine Power to remain.

Even figures floating towards the Agleya Port appeared on the sea, expelled from Toril during the world shattering and pulled from the void due to their pious faith by the positioning of the Sea God Temple.

Helplessly, Hill realized that even the Elemental Spirits were missing.

He decisively activated dozens of Puppets in the Agleya Temple, sending those carrying Energy Baryte to gather the refugees.

These were devout followers of Agleya, whom Hill could not abandon.

After finishing a glass of Juice, Hill groaned painfully, that chaos and disorder of the magic Origin Power left him tormented after being immersed in Mana for so many years.

The most critical issue was the departure of Natural Consciousness, giving him a feeling of being surrounded by danger. Toril’s nature had been devastated into complete slumber by this catastrophic destruction.

For the first time, Hill felt lost and directionless.

”Hill! What’s happening?

The Undead Tribe has all disappeared! That Temporal Artifact suddenly went silent!” Lynn rushed over, ”Coron is missing too, and I completely lost contact with Miliel!

Ah... Ah!

Hill? Are you hurt? Are you okay?

What the hell happened? Damn it!”

”Mystra... has fallen,” Hill said painfully, ”The Weave is now completely broken, and the Origin Power cannot be used temporarily. Tell the mages not to use any spells.

Neither priests nor druids can. Let them honestly organize their Mental Sea and absolutely do not use any divine arts through the Weave. Their gods are too busy to respond now.

The most important thing is to tell the mages to behave if they don’t want their heads to explode. Things are too chaotic now; no time to collect their bodies.

Have the City Guard and Silver Shield Knights patrol the streets!

Tell Tyr’s paladins it’s just a temporary disconnection caused by the Weave’s failure. Tyr is very safe.

You also don’t need to worry too much; the puzzle lock is still working normally.”

Lynn nodded but didn’t move his feet.

Hill understood he was worried about him and could only soften his tone, saying, ”Don’t worry about me. I just... was too used to relying on magic power before, and suddenly losing it is a bit unsettling. But it doesn’t harm me personally.”

Hill glanced again at the sky, which no longer showed any silver light. ”The Weave is just broken, not completely destroyed. The Chosen of the Goddess of Magic just repositioned the world, so Toril is saved and won’t continue to break apart.

The Origin Power is also getting more stable. To me, losing the Weave is not scary, as long as the Origin Power isn’t agitated.

You must quickly calm the citizens. Marsha can soon come out to help you.

Although nothing major will happen again, space will certainly remain unstable for a while. I must stay in the floating castle for defense at all times; other matters will have to be left to you.

Don’t worry about the undead tribe. Due to Plane fluctuations, they can’t locate Toril, and their Soul Projection was directly cut off.

Even the deities have been kicked out!

For a short time, the Toril people can only rely on themselves; organize your cousins well as the port may get chaotic.”

As Lynn listened, his expression turned gloomier, with a hint of relief: fortunately, they’ve always been very careful with recruitment here, so without the suppression of the mage tower, nothing major will go wrong.

He quickly turned and left, determined to arrange everything before chaos breaks out.

Watching Lynn rush back to the ground, Hill slowly returned to his room and soaked himself in the hot pool.

Luckily, most of the facilities in this floating castle use energy crystals instead.

Initially, Hill thought it convenient for List to control and as a preparation for chaos a decade later.

Who would have thought this assassination would happen early?

Hill curled up in the hot pool with a faint bitter smile: Why couldn’t it have happened early?

Hadn’t he also played a part in forcing Mystra to face such a chaotic situation much earlier than anticipated?

In real history, there was not so much resistance, and ten years later, Mystra couldn’t control the situation, leading to a mental breakdown and an assassination by Cyric, who had been watching her for a long time in her back garden.

The current Mystra is encountering much more trouble than back then, with mages’ resistance emotions extremely strong. Inside, she still considers herself the Mystra of Midnight, naturally making her more irritable.

Cyric must have been eyeing her for a long time.

Hill submerged in the water for a while and then stood up to dry himself with a soft large towel, changing into that clothes with many pockets.

During this time when magic cannot be used, he better conserve energy crystals!

He quickly noticed that Lynn had called out Terry and Tasding, letting them patrol with their true forms on the road.

The two dragons were a bit confused, but followed Lynn’s instructions, albeit shuffling slowly back and forth with a puzzled look, perhaps still not understanding what happened.

This is actually a good idea.

When magic can’t be used, the massive form of a giant dragon gives a rather strong sense of security.

Hill stuffed all pockets with blood and mana potions, and small cakes and juices to replenish stamina and mana, holding a crystal flower in his arms, half-lying on a chair on the terrace.

He closed his eyes and slowly thought about potential enemies nearby.

The pirates from Luskan are a threat, but they would certainly first go after the Arcane Brotherhood that has been oppressing them for years.

By the time they come to Agleya, the Origin Power in Toril should be largely stabilized and the elemental turmoil won’t be as strong, then Hill’s bloodline spells should be usable.

At most, there might be a few dragons coming to take advantage of the chaos, considering Agleya City’s famous wealth, and the fact that the golden dragon is too young and the mercury dragons traditionally aren’t known for their strength.

Hill opened his eyes, slowly raised his right hand before his eyes, and slowly clenched and opened it, revealing a hint of a cold smile.
