Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1448: Chapter 747: Assault

Zhou Lan kept reminding herself of one thing repeatedly, not to equate her own perspective and feelings with Zhou Yun’s perspective and feelings.

Different people, in different positions, naturally have different feelings.

The one truly standing in front of everyone, exposed to everyone, is Zhou Yun.

She receives applause and encouragement, as well as facing all attacks and malice directly.

She is an artist, and her heart is more delicate and sensitive than ordinary people, which is undoubtedly true.

Therefore, she might suddenly shed tears while looking at the sea, and this is not strange at all.

Zhou Lan kept warning herself that the group of people she served were not ordinary people, nor common people; they were already in a grand and dynamic era and work environment, and she must treat their every emotional change with great care.

”I was thinking, have you been overwhelmed by so many things happening recently, disrupting your inner balance?” Zhou Lan提出.

Zhou Yun pondered in silence.

”I don’t know, but what indeed gives me a sense of being out of control are some recent events,” Zhou Yun said. ”Actually, it started with the issue with Li Rui. I didn’t expect to be attacked by him like that. At the time of the attack, I only felt anger, but as the incident slowly passed, I suddenly felt a bit sad.”

Zhou Lan sighed.

”I knew it.”

”I thought I wouldn’t feel sad.”

”You once trusted him and wanted to help him, but in the end, you were betrayed and hurt by him. Any normal person would feel sad. It’s very normal, Xiao Yun. You can’t think you won’t feel sad. You’re a person full of emotions, and feeling sad is the most normal thing.”

”Later, the matter with He Xuran also made it difficult for me to convince myself,” Zhou Yun continued. ”I know Song Chi and Wu Chengbao’s considerations. I know that opening a film and television company must prioritize profits. There are no permanent enemies, only permanent interests. But maybe I have higher idealistic expectations of people, of Song Chi. I always hope that, beyond profit, we can defend some things. Actually, I also know I’m demanding something irrational, but even though I know this, I can’t help it. I still fall into self-arguments.”

Zhou Lan sighed again.

”Xiao Yun, that’s why I always say, I hope you won’t get too involved with the matters on Song Chi’s side. Perhaps ten years later, twenty years later, when your mind is stronger and more resilient, you will be truly unaffected by these matters, but you can’t do it now,” Zhou Lan said. ”From a rational perspective, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what Song Chi and the others are doing, but I can also understand why you’re bothered because he is your lover, and you have higher expectations of him. Don’t deny it; we always have higher expectations of those closer to us. So, if you want to avoid such pain, about his company’s matters in the future, either just half-hear them or don’t listen at all. You can’t expect Song Chi to be a perfect idealist at work; flying into the fire may be beautiful, but its end is death. You don’t want Song Chi’s company to go bankrupt, right?”

Zhou Yun was amused by Zhou Lan’s rapid-fire delivery.

”After hearing what you said, what more can I say?”

”Besides the issue with He Xuran, is there anything else?”

”Hmm?”

”There must be something else. The trigger wasn’t his issue,” Zhou Lan said. ”Isn’t it the matter with Jin Su that made you question your judgment?”

Zhou Lan’s words hit the mark.

Zhou Yun nodded in acknowledgment.

”Yes, you’re right. It’s the Jin Su matter that suddenly made me... less confident,” Zhou Yun said. ”Actually, at first, I didn’t really like Jin Su because he was very pragmatic. I tend not to like people with such strong purposes, but because he is Wen Xi’s junior, I always felt that since Wen Xi and I are good friends, I should help him out. However, it later proved that my thinking was too presumptuous.”

”It’s not that you’re too presumptuous; it’s that your good intentions haven’t met someone worthy yet, but that doesn’t mean your good intentions are wrong,” Zhou Lan said. ”Xiao Yun, you surely understand all these reasons yourself, you surely know it all, it’s just that a lot of things have come up all at once, and it’s hard for you to accept suddenly. You need to take a break.”
