Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1419: Chapter 738: Power

Zhou Yun wouldn’t say she has no power, no influence.

But the bit of power and influence she does have, she knows, isn’t as exaggerated as what’s said online.

What can Zhou Yun’s power accomplish?

Can she give a green light to a film project?

That’s not really power; it’s the market’s recognition of her, making everyone believe in her.

Zhou Yun knows the bosses of film companies, video platforms, and some influential figures in TV stations. She maintains close relationships and can speak to them. Is this power?

It is, but it’s not that much power.

It’s just connections, nothing like overwhelming authority.

Does Zhou Yun have the ability to suppress a new director?

She certainly has the capability, but does she have the ability to blacklist a new director, leaving them no chance to rise? Naturally, she doesn’t.

If Zhou Yun had such ability, Xu Siyao and the others whom she really dislikes would have already been blacklisted by her.

In this circle, who can have absolute control?

And now, the internet completely paints Zhou Yun as a mighty bigwig, as if her whims could decide someone’s career life or death.

Zhou Yun thought, leaving aside whether she truly has such prowess, even if she did, would she do that? Is she that kind of person?

However, she finds it hard to explain that she’s not that kind of person and wouldn’t do such things.

Because the artist industry is one that’s always under public scrutiny.

In many people’s eyes, she’s already a top actress, so as a top actress, who would believe her if she says she doesn’t have such power?

No one would believe it.

...

Hou Mengjie’s repost put Zhou Yun in an extremely passive position in public opinion.

But a rather strange point is that, although the negative public opinion about Zhou Yun is increasing and its impact growing, it seems to have no effect on Zhou Yun herself.

Even more producers approach Zhou Yun with scripts.

Some think Zhou Yun is in a bit of bad luck these days, perhaps others are wary of her negative image, seeing it as an opportunity to quickly send scripts; little do they know, many think this way, causing even more people to seek out Zhou Yun than usual.

At Zhou Yun’s level, as long as there’s no major principle issue, basically, it won’t cause significant damage.

Producers recognize her, the market recognizes her, brands recognize her, and audiences recognize her as well.

Especially since Zhou Yun’s attitude has been clear and strong from the start, she consistently denies suppressing Li Rui.

This assertive attitude makes fans and the general public still inclined to believe her.

Moreover, after her firm stand, Li Rui didn’t respond further.

This stance is seen by many as an indication of a guilty conscience. That’s also a point emphasized by many of Zhou Yun’s fans: if what Li Rui said was true and he had reasoning, why doesn’t he dare to speak up in the face of Zhou Yun’s questioning?

Some say, when confronting someone like Zhou Yun, without background, power, or fans, how can one dare to speak?

Zhou Yun’s fans chuckled, and said, if that’s the case, why did Li Rui dare to speak at first? How come at first he dared to spread rumors, and now when the original party countered, he uses the excuse of not daring to offend to stay silent?

In summary, in this matter, both sides claim they are right.

The argument is intense.

A day after Hou Mengjie reposted to support Li Rui, Wen Bing spoke up.

He only wrote two words: ”Ridiculous.”

His words were very clear.

Wen Bing’s statement bolstered Zhou Yun’s fans’ confidence.

”Xiao Yun’s support for new directors is visible throughout the film industry. Who else can, at the height of their popularity, shoot an art film by a new director like Xiao Yun? Xiao Yun and director Wen Bing achieved mutual success. Furthermore, Xiao Yun later supported director Xue Qin, taking on ’Falling Leaves’ and ’Behind the Scenes’ when many didn’t think highly of these projects.”

Wen Bing’s statement was just the beginning.

Soon, during an interview, Xin Zhike also said, ”I truly don’t believe she suppresses newcomers; she’s always the most considerate and cooperative on set.”
