Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1403: Chapter 729: A Sigh of Relief (Part 2)

Song Chi: ”Indeed about to join the group, but I happened to have a few days free, so I’m accompanying Xiao Yun here. Hope I’m not bothering you all.”

Lew Qing: ”We’re too happy to have you, how could you say you’re bothering us?”

He said: ”You all haven’t had dinner yet, right? I’ll take you to eat something first, leave the luggage in the car.”

”Sure.” Zhou Yun immediately nodded.

The event is held in an old city in the Northwest. Zhou Yun had been here before but didn’t have time to really explore the city, let alone taste some local delicacies.

Lew Qing said: ”I’ve been here for a week and discovered quite a few good eateries, I’ll take you to my personal favorite one later.”

The eight of them went by car to a rather remote restaurant.

The restaurant doesn’t look too fancy, more like a farmhouse.

But that’s fine, with Song Chi and Zhou Yun, they couldn’t conveniently go to crowded places.

The group took their seats.

Wine glasses were placed on the table.

Lew Qing asked: ”Want to have some drinks?”

Zhou Yun and Song Chi exchanged a glance.

Neither of them needed to drive, Zhou Yun said: ”I’ll drink a little.”

Lew Qing grinned happily, saying: ”Good.”

Lew Qing is someone with a wildly poetic demeanor, though it doesn’t mean he is unaware of social etiquettes, but he is quite romantic at times.

Romanticism is such an overused term, but those who have encountered true romantics in life tend to have some fondness for the word.

Few people dislike a bit of romance in life, as long as someone isn’t romantic all the time — that’s just being dumb.

Regardless of whether you admit it or not, we always appreciate those who can detach from the mundane and face life with optimism or open-mindedness.

Lew Qing is just that kind of person.

He recognizes the importance of maintaining good relationships with big-name celebrities.

But on the other hand, he won’t bow down nor use compromising means to win them over.

Coincidentally, Zhou Yun and Song Chi are the same; they dislike being treated differently or catered to with low-key flattery.

That night, both sides enjoyed a joyful feast.

After three rounds of drinks, Lew Qing became a bit uninhibited from drunkenness.

He slapped the table and said: ”Zhou Yun, trust me, you must stick to your attitude and act this way, regardless of what others say. Avoid acting in bad films, but don’t only choose art-house films either. Keep acting this way and you’ll definitely become the best actress in the world, I’m staking my words here!”

Song Chi laughed and said twice: ”Teacher Lew, you’re being biased now, why didn’t you say I’ll become the best actor in the world?”

Lew Qing glared and said: ”You little rascal don’t need me to say that, look at the films you’re making now like ’Haiyun Platform’, such disaster films, how outdated they are, yet you’re still making them.”

Song Chi laughed, unperturbed.

Zhou Yun said: ”Teacher Lew, he’s trying to support the development of our domestic film industry with his own efforts.”

Lew Qing: ”Is your strength necessary for that? The industry develops through the market, what splash do you think you can make? Look at the past two years, not a single truly artistic film has been made, films like ’Laissez-faire’ are praised by so many people, do you honestly think they’re good too?”

Lew Qing is prejudiced against certain films.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi exchanged smiles without speaking.

Lew Qing then said to Zhou Yun: ”Xiao Yun, you too, why make films like ’Four Killers’? So refined, more like a PPT.”

Zhou Yun smiled even more helplessly.

She said: ”Understood, I’ll be more cautious and earnest in choosing scripts going forward.”

Some people have this talent.

Obviously, they’re criticizing you, some things, but you’re not offended.

Because you know, their words are not targeting you, nor intending to humiliate you.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi rather liked Lew Qing’s temperament.

Authenticity.

Reaching their current position, there are few people who dare to speak such words before them.

It’s rare to find such individuals.

...

The next day, Lew Qing woke up recalling his wild words at the dinner table, berating Zhou Yun and Song Chi, in a cold sweat from fear.

What did he do?

Lew Qing’s eyes widened, unable to recover for a long moment.

He immediately took out his phone, called his assistant, and said: ”Quickly go check if Zhou Yun and Song Chi are still around. If they’re about to leave, stop them at once, don’t let them leave in anger!”

The assistant was about to speak.

Lew Qing continued to scold: ”You guys, why didn’t you stop me from saying those things last night! Oh dear, my mouth really is something!”

The assistant laughed awkwardly, saying: ”Teacher Lew, Zhou Yun asked me to tell you not to worry, she and Song Chi didn’t take it to heart and know you were speaking sincerely, it’s fine.”

Lew Qing was bewildered for a while.

”She said she didn’t take it to heart, truly?”

”I don’t think it’s fake, there’s no reason for her to lie, right?” The assistant said, ”Besides, someone saw her having breakfast at the restaurant this morning, and many people posted photos with her on social media.”

”That’s good then, that’s good.” Lew Qing sighed with relief.

If he had offended them with his words last night and drove Zhou Yun and Song Chi away, this event would have been pointless.

Many people came for Zhou Yun and Song Chi.

Lew Qing took a deep breath.

Luckily, it didn’t turn into a disaster.

He sat back down on the bed and relaxed.
