Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1430: Chapter 743: Wei Weicheng

The secret return of Wei Weicheng to the country was tightly sealed, with almost no information leaking out.

Otherwise, with his influence two years ago, his return would definitely attract all the media’s attention.

Even after disappearing for two years, his fans still wait for his return every day.

His name is indispensable in various online retrospectives.

Some even say that given time, it’s uncertain whether Song Chi or Wei Weicheng will achieve greater success.

Logically, Zhou Yun should know such a top actor.

But unfortunately, during the years Zhou Yun rose swiftly, Wei Weicheng had disappeared.

The two had never met.

However, Zhou Yun knew of Wei Weicheng.

Almost no one does not know Wei Weicheng, at least they’ve heard of his name.

Although Wei Weicheng has returned to the country, Zhou Yun is actually a bit worried about whether he would be willing to take on the film ”Conspicuous and Trouble”.

Wei Weicheng not acting in films for two years doesn’t mean he’s outdated.

For such a top actor returning to the country, at least his first or second film after the return is still highly anticipated.

If he were to release news of returning to acting, without a doubt, many people would approach him with hefty scripts and cash.

And for Wei Weicheng, he has many scripts to choose from.

”Conspicuous and Trouble” is indeed a big IP, but just like big IPs are to Song Chi and Zhou Yun, although it’s good, it’s not overwhelmingly attractive anymore.

They themselves are a big IP, so for actors like them, acting in a big IP for the sake of a big IP doesn’t really hold much significance.

They only need to consider one thing: whether the film, once shot, is good and whether the audience will accept it.

If a script like ”Conspicuous and Trouble” was offered to Zhou Yun, she would probably not take it.

Because at this stage, Zhou Yun is least in need of popularity and traffic.

And ”Conspicuous and Trouble” can provide the biggest popularity and traffic to an actor.

Zhou Yun discussed this with Song Chi, saying, ”If Wei Weicheng ultimately doesn’t take on this film, do you have any alternatives?”

”Right now, we’re not sure, we’re also looking for people, but it’s very difficult, shooting is about to start, and if we can’t finish within the contract period, it’s hard to answer to Chestnut Video since they’ve funded half the investment,” Song Chi said, ”The main issue now is that we can’t find a first-line male actor satisfactory to Chestnut Video. If in the end, we don’t find the right person, the drama might be returned, or the start delayed, which would cause us significant losses.”

The early preparations were all done by Song Chi’s Company, a lot has been invested already.

If at this time filming stops, or the start is delayed, all these prior invested costs can only be borne by Song Chi’s Company.

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ve already asked everyone I know, everyone already has work arrangements and can’t help.”

”Hmm,” Song Chi said, ”It’s okay, don’t worry about me, I’ll think of something.”

Not being able to find a suitable actor in a short time is something that gives any production team a headache.

Zhou Yun went through all the male actors she had collaborated with in her mind, confirming once more that each one had already been contacted, and their schedules didn’t work; she sighed.

...

Song Chi contacted Wei Weicheng.

The two were old acquaintances, and had always stayed in touch.

It’s just that after Wei Weicheng went abroad, their communication had lessened.

The last time they were in touch was during the New Year, exchanging New Year’s wishes.

Song Chi called and asked, ”How have you been lately?”

Wei Weicheng said, ”Still the same as before.”

”I heard you’ve returned to the country?” Song Chi asked.

Wei Weicheng: ”You’re well-informed, I didn’t tell anyone, and yet you found out.”

Song Chi said, ”Your whereabouts are always watched by many, it’s only natural. When did you return? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Wei Weicheng said, ”I came back to handle some matters, won’t stay long.”

”What, still planning to go back to the United States?”

”Yeah.”

”How’s your health? Still not recovered?”

”Not yet, just going with it, this illness can’t be completely cured, so it’s about managing it conservatively and seeing if I can live a few more years,” Wei Weicheng said with a smile.
