Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1441: Chapter 745: She Has Never Failed (10,000 Words!)

”Didn’t Zhou Yun just get blasted by Li Rui not long ago? He said Zhou Yun messed up his collaboration with Seapool Film and Television. Didn’t you have any unpleasant experiences working with Song Chi and the others?” Yin Linglin said, ”Pick one or two of those incidents to use as reasons for not cooperating. It’s better than others calling you a flake.”

He Xuran fell into silence.

Yin Linglin’s reminder gave him a bit of inspiration.

But He Xuran couldn’t immediately decide to do that.

It was clear that Yin Linglin called hoping to stir up some trouble for Song Chi and Zhou Yun.

But He Xuran couldn’t understand why she wanted to do that.

If Yin Linglin wanted to cause trouble for Zhou Yun, He Xuran could understand that.

As for Song Chi, why?

Was there some conflict between Yin Linglin and Song Chi?

He Xuran didn’t want to be used as a tool by others.

He didn’t trust Yin Linglin that much.

They kept in touch frequently, but it was usually conversations like today’s.

There was a tacit understanding between them, sharing information, providing help, forming an alliance.

But an alliance didn’t mean they could trust each other completely.

He Xuran said, ”Yin Linglin, if I do this, it would mean completely offending Song Chi’s company.”

”You’ve already flaked on them; you’ve already offended them completely. Why, do you still think you can make up with them afterward?”

”Why not?” He Xuran said, ”If this collaboration doesn’t work out, we can always work together next time.”

”You’re really underestimating Song Chi.” Yin Linglin said, ”If you flaked on him and he still forgives you, wouldn’t others follow suit in the future? How can you think others would forgive you for what you did?”

”Do you really want to see me fall out with them?”

”Of course, I found it strange when you wanted to act in a film produced by Song Chi’s company. Aren’t you competitors? How dare you collaborate with him?”

”Although we’re competitors, ’Conspicuous and Trouble’ is indeed a big IP. Whether it becomes popular or not, it’s sure to attract a lot of viewers.” He Xuran said, ”He can’t act himself, and he needs a lead male actor. I’m a good fit, why not collaborate?”

”Aren’t you afraid he’ll cut your role to make you look bad and unappealing to the audience?”

”Do you think his mindset is as petty as yours? This is a film produced by his company. If the lead actor is disliked, what good would that do him?” He Xuran sneered at Yin Linglin’s malicious speculation, ”I’m envious of Song Chi, but I understand him a bit. If he were that petty, he wouldn’t have the reputation he has today.”

”Wow, you talk as if he’s your idol. If that’s the case, why did you flake on them?” Yin Linglin taunted.

He Xuran didn’t respond.

He thought for a moment and said, ”Alright, I know what you’re trying to say. I won’t talk to you about this anymore. If you have nothing else to say, I’ll hang up.”

”Go ahead.” Yin Linglin was clearly dissatisfied with He Xuran’s attitude and hung up the phone immediately.

He Xuran thought silently for a long time, considering both Yin Linglin’s suggestion and the consequences of taking such action.

Should he push things to this step?

Moving things to this stage would indeed provide a reason for ”flaking.”

But it would also mean thoroughly offending Song Chi.

He Xuran wasn’t ready for that.

He felt he shouldn’t do it.

It was an intuition.

After a long silence, He Xuran decided to contact Song Chi.

He apologized frankly.

”Song Chi, I’m sorry, it’s my fault this time for flaking on you.”

He Xuran started with a sincere apology.

”Actually, I know I’ve caused a lot of trouble for you and your team by doing so. I just encountered a rare opportunity that was very valuable to me, so I had to make this decision. I’m very sorry. If possible, next time I’ll do a film for your company at half the price to express my apology, alright?”

Receiving this call was unexpected for Song Chi.

He hadn’t expected He Xuran to apologize to him outright.

”I can understand whether you take on the role or not, but you can’t catch us off guard.” Song Chi said.

”I know I was wrong in how I handled it. Whatever I say now is too late, but please believe me, I absolutely had no intention to deliberately cause trouble for you. If it weren’t for that opportunity being irresistible to me, I wouldn’t have done it.” He Xuran said, ”If you have any projects that still need actors, bring over the performance contract. I promise you, I’ll take half the pay to be in it, as my apology and sincerity to you.”
