Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1423: Chapter 740: Event_2

This isn’t about Yin Linglin being the top in acting; it’s a result of combining awards, works, popularity, and box office among multiple factors.

Yin Linglin wasn’t so eager to win an award before Zhou Yun’s sudden rise.

Or rather, this batch of young actresses, including Yin Linglin, wasn’t so eager.

After all, none of the competitors had won, and everyone was about the same.

Then Zhou Yun smashed any expectations and won a pile of awards, leaving her peers far behind with unexpected momentum and speed.

A sense of crisis skyrocketed among all her contemporaries.

Thinking of the movie ”Killing Song” that Zhou Yun is about to film, the jealousy in Yin Linglin’s heart spreads wildly like it’s been fueled.

This is a true blockbuster from a major Hollywood production company.

Currently, domestic film companies do not have such globally influential distribution channels. So, why does every actor in Asia want to audition when Hollywood plans a film with an Asian protagonist? Some say it’s blind worship of foreign things, but perhaps for some it is, for most, it represents a significant step in career development.

Because it’s about fame.

If it were an independent film overseas, those big stars wouldn’t act in it.

Only such top commercial blockbusters would lead celebrities to actively seek opportunities to collaborate.

A single movie could transform them from a domestic superstar into an international celebrity.

Yin Linglin’s jealousy of Zhou Yun stems from Zhou Yun’s development up till now being precise and steady; popularity, acting skills, awards, box office—they’re lacking nothing.

Many actors accumulate for years to achieve this, yet Zhou Yun has done it in just a few short years.

On this basis, Zhou Yun has entered a new stage.

In the depths of Yin Linglin’s heart, there’s anxiety.

She’s anxious that if ”Killing Song” sells globally, Zhou Yun would enter the ranks of the top actresses worldwide.

If someone is only slightly ahead of you, you may still want to surpass them, but when someone towers over you like a mountain, your thoughts of overtaking turn into a sense of helplessness.

...

”Meeting Zhou Yun is really unlucky for you,” He Xuran suddenly sidled up to Yin Linglin, whispering teasingly in her ear.

Yin Linglin glanced at him and sneered.

”What gives you the right to say that to me? Get past Song Chi, and then talk to me.”

He Xuran shrugged and said, ”I’ve never thought about being number one; this market is big enough, so I’ll just maintain my current pace. Our male actors have much stronger career longevity than you actresses.”

Yin Linglin snorted coldly and said, ”Don’t forget, you better have a firm foothold and keep being in demand, or in this industry, it doesn’t matter if you’re a male or female actor.”

He Xuran: ”Oh come on, how come you’re so humorless? Just casually saying something to you turns you into a hedgehog.”

Yin Linglin said, ”Don’t joke with me like this; I’m not good with jokes.”

”Alright, alright, I apologize to you, is that okay? I won’t joke with you about this anymore,” He Xuran said.

Yin Linglin said, ”What do you actually want to say to me?”

”I see you keep staring at Zhou Yun, so I’m tiptoeing to remind you not to be too obvious,” He Xuran said, ”Your jealousy is practically spilling from your eyes.”

Yin Linglin didn’t reply.

Seeing this, He Xuran smirked.

”What, you’re really stuck on this hurdle, huh? If you can’t get over it, what’s everyone else supposed to do?”

Yin Linglin said, ”Who’s stuck? What nonsense are you saying?”

Confirming that He Xuran had nothing serious to say, she rolled her eyes and turned to leave.

”Don’t go yet, I have serious business to talk to you about,” He Xuran said.

Upon hearing this, Yin Linglin stopped and looked at He Xuran, asking, ”You better really have something serious to say.”

He Xuran said, ”I’m serious; I heard Zhou Yun officially told Yao Yuanfeng that she’s quitting the ’Four Killers’ series.”

”Really?” Upon hearing this news, Yin Linglin’s eyes widened immediately, staring at He Xuran in amazement.

He Xuran nodded.
