Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1414: Chapter 734: Weibo Crashed (3)

”Sigh.”

Even though Zhou Yun hasn’t experienced a similar situation, just thinking about it makes her feel it’s quite unfair to Wang Jing.

For Wang Jing, as an actor, she will have to stay in Zhou Yun’s shadow for a long time.

No actor would want that.

Zhou Yun said, ”Previously, I mentioned separating the promotional efforts between Xiao Jing and myself completely. Is there really no way to stop people from thinking like this?”

Zhou Lan said, ”It’s okay, I still hold the same view. No matter how others perceive Xiao Jing, when it comes down to it, an actor must rely on their work to speak for them — that’s the true essence. So, Xiao Jing should just focus on acting. Over the years ahead, she has many more opportunities to make a name for herself. I’m never worried she’ll always be in your shadow.”

...

Li Rui’s issue simmered online for a few days. Due to the lack of follow-up, it lost its heat.

This issue had a moderate impact on Zhou Yun.

It wasn’t entirely terrible.

Even according to Li Rui’s version, no one felt Zhou Yun did anything wrong.

Many people believed that since Li Rui chose to engage with Zhou Yun initially, his direct involvement with Seapool Film and Television was inherently his fault, and he deserved to be dropped by Seapool Film and Television in the end.

Zhou Yun’s side’s clarification, in contrast, didn’t attract much attention.

Meanwhile, Seapool Film and Television’s statement was long delayed.

It wasn’t until Li Rui posted a follow-up on Weibo that the matter returned to public attention.

Li Rui vented on Weibo: ”Who knew in this world that your imperfection is the original sin. I admit I was wrong to approach several parties, but does that prove Zhou Yun’s interference in my subsequent collaborations was right? As long as I don’t work with Zhou Yun, I’m absolutely wrong?”

This statement surprised many.

Because many thought Li Rui would quiet down and stop speaking.

After all, he hadn’t spoken out for several days.

Soon after, Li Rui posted a second Weibo. He @Zhou Yun, saying: ”Did you secretly sabotage me? Could you respond directly?”

This @ sparked the gossip spirit across the internet.

Even Zhou Yun was somewhat shocked, unsure of what Li Rui wanted to achieve.

However, Zhou Yun’s temper fired up.

She directly reposted that Weibo, saying: ”My studio has already clarified that I didn’t do this, didn’t you see it? Blind?”

Once the Weibo was posted, it shocked everyone online.

Zhou Yun hadn’t openly lashed out on Weibo like this in a long time.

Or rather, no celebrity had so genuinely told someone ”blind” like this on Weibo in a long time.

Only then did many remember that when Zhou Yun first rose to fame, she became known through several fierce exchanges on Weibo.

No one could mess with Zhou Yun; she wasn’t afraid of those tactics, had no PR team, and would immediately rebuke or even swear back herself.

The comments section under Zhou Yun’s Weibo turned into a spectacle, filled with ”Goodbye, lively entertainment circle.”

This was Zhou Lan’s move.

She hired paid commentators, aiming to divert attention away from the conflict between Zhou Yun and Li Rui.

However, Li Rui didn’t take this as a signal to stop.

He posted a screenshot.

The screenshot was his chat record with someone.

In the chat, there was a conversation between him and that person.

He asked: ”We agreed to do it before, why suddenly not doing it?”

The person said: ”You know, our company just filmed ’Moon Sinking at Sea’, don’t you see the reason?”

He asked: ”Are you saying someone interfered?”

The person said: ”I never said that, don’t say that.”

Then, the person added: ”Don’t dwell on this matter, it’s over. Regardless, our company won’t help you produce this movie anymore.”

Li Rui @Zhou Yun, asked: ”How about you respond to this chat record?”

Zhou Yun looked at the chat record, even more furious.

She reposted again, directly confronting: ”What am I supposed to respond to chat records with someone you can’t identify? You should @the correct person, okay? Whoever said it should take responsibility. If you’re saying I interfered, show evidence that I interfered, don’t just dump anything on me!”

Zhou Yun was truly livid.

She tossed her phone on the table, taking a deep breath in frustration.

”Stay calm, stay calm,” she admonished herself. ”Don’t get angry, it’s not worth it.”

Ten minutes later, Weibo crashed.

Moments spread quickly in circles, going viral.

Subscribing visibly boosts my motivation. With the subscription numbers rising in the past couple of days, I’ve found my passion for writing again.

I guess I’m really shallow.
