Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 346: Chapter 301: The Rising Phase: 137

”Say hello?” As soon as Zhou Lan heard it, she said directly, ”No one said hello to me, I just purely felt he was different from everyone else.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”I know.”

”Who was greeted?” Zhou Lan asked.

”Someone from the film production side, I don’t remember his name,” Zhou Yun said. ”That slightly chubby one.”

”Luo Hengzhang.” Zhou Lan immediately named the chubby person, ”So it was him.”

Zhou Yun said, ”That’s actually quite normal.”

”The main thing is who you want to pick, in this matter, you have a lot of sway,” Zhou Lan said. ”But today during the audition, I was thinking about another issue.”

”What issue?” Zhou Yun asked.

”I was thinking about the choice of director,” Zhou Lan said.

Zhou Yun smiled knowingly and said, ”Sister Lan, we really are on the same wavelength.”

Zhou Lan said, ”Period dramas are difficult to shoot. It’s easy to turn them into tacky idol dramas, but I don’t want it to become another ’Eighth Heartbeat’.”

”I’ve had exactly the same thought as you,” Zhou Yun nodded.

Zhou Lan smiled.

”You know, actually many plays don’t start out intending to be bad, but often, too many people interfering, this person wants it this way, that person wants it that way, Producer A wants to see the two leads fall in love, Investor B wants more scenes for a certain supporting role, Platform C wants more episodes, so they cut some plots, and in the end, it becomes a mishmash,” Zhou Lan said. ”That’s the sad reality we often see now.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I get why the first thing you did was to get Zheng Xiaowen on our side.”

”She is the biggest investor in this play, and with her firmly on our side, we have enough say,” Zhou Lan stated.

”Yes.”

”What do you think of Yu Zhiyang?” Zhou Lan asked.

”Among the people interviewed today, his appearance is closer to what I imagined, but there were too many people, I don’t remember his interview details. Probably need to meet him a few more times, talk a few more times,” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan nodded.

Looking at the time, she said, ”We need to go discuss with everyone.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Everyone gathered in the meeting room.

The staff had already set up the projection equipment.

Zhou Lan took the lead in managing the process.

”There were many people auditioning today, discussing each one would waste time, so how about this, each of us gives out five names, after picking out these people, we can discuss more in detail.”

He Yong immediately said, ”Isn’t five names a bit too few?”

Zheng Xiaowen said, ”Yeah, I already have a dozen people I favor.”

Zhou Lan said with a smile, ”Everyone, we’re just picking a male lead, even with many candidates we need to pick one. I know many of those who auditioned today are excellent, but there’s only one position. If we all can’t make a choice about who we prefer, how can we focus and choose the most suitable one?”

Zhou Yun nodded, her tone a bit coquettish, ”Yes, let’s hurry up, it’s already very late.”

He Yong and the people from Chengqian Film and Television exchanged glances.

Zheng Xiaowen then said, ”Alright, let me struggle a bit, you guys start first.”

Zhou Lan nodded and said, ”Then I’ll talk about my choices first, I’m more inclined towards Yu Zhiyang, Chen Jing, Zhou Jianfeng, Lao Boyi, Hong Siwei.”

Among these five people, Chen Jing was recommended by Ning Yao’s agent Luo Peiyao, Lao Boyi was recommended by Director Kang Xin, Zhou Jianfeng was a signed actor from Chengqian Entertainment, while Yu Zhiyang and Hong Siwei were actors from other companies.
