Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 314: Chapter 275: On the Rise: 111_2

Ning Yao held Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”On the day of the premiere of ’Life,’ I will be there to cheer you on. I’m looking forward to this movie.”

Zhou Yun couldn’t contain her joy and excitement, nodding her head.

Wei Ru Xue saw the two of them chatting happily and scoffed subtly.

She turned to Yao Yuanfeng and said, ”President Yao, you like Zhou Yun so much, isn’t there a suitable role for me?”

Yao Yuanfeng replied, ”I sent you two scripts last month.”

”Those two are just chick flicks, boring. I’ve done too many,” Wei Ru Xue said. ”Is my acting really not better than that young girl Zhou Yun?”

Yao Yuanfeng patted Wei Ru Xue on the shoulder and said, ”Of course, that’s not to say your acting isn’t recognized. If nothing goes wrong, ’Spring Cold’ should help you win Best Actress, right?”

Wei Ru Xue then smiled proudly, saying, ”Although everyone says so, it’s just the nomination now, the results haven’t come out yet, who knows.”

Yao Yuanfeng remarked, ”If you don’t get that final trophy, there must be some foul play.”

”You shouldn’t say that, President Yao. Everyone knows that award holds great value, I wouldn’t dare claim that,” Wei Ru Xue sighed lightly, ”I hope I can get that trophy.”

Yao Yuanfeng suddenly asked, ”Now that you’re managing a studio alone, have you really decided not to sign with another company to help manage it?”

Wei Ru Xue responded, ”Why? Does President Yao want to sign me?”

”I wanted to sign you, as you well know, but you rejected me back then.”

”At that time, it wasn’t good for me to sign with anyone, but if President Yao is willing, I would be happy to sign my film contracts with New Shield,” Wei Ru Xue’s eyes twinkled with a cunning yet charming light, saying, ”As long as you promise to tailor a leading role in a movie for me every year.”

Yao Yuanfeng chuckled, ”Let’s talk about this later.”

No way, his company only makes a few movies a year, tailor-making a movie for her every year was not how he planned on promoting a girlfriend.

People chatted, exchanged pleasantries, and shared a lot of information.

Among the information was something crucial, like Director Zhang Yiwei revealing he was preparing a new film.

A film by Director Zhang Yiwei, if even a hint of it leaks, would attract a swarm of interested parties.

Everyone knew because Zhang Yiwei asked Ning Yao if she was interested and available.

Unfortunately, Ning Yao didn’t have the time.

Zhou Lan heard the news, took note, and took the opportunity to introduce himself to Director Zhang Yiwei and exchange contact information.

Zhou Yun’s schedule was also not very open, but for a big director’s new film, this was not a problem.

New Shield’s ’Four Killers’ and Shi Luoqi produced, Xue Qin directed ’Falling Leaves’ had not yet set their shooting schedules.

This meant there was room to adjust next year’s schedule.

Zhou Lan didn’t mind helping Zhou Yun secure a role in Director Zhang Yiwei’s new film.

However, Director Zhang Yiwei didn’t seem very interested in Zhou Yun.

He just kept up a superficial conversation, showing no intention of further communication.

This wasn’t really an issue.

Securing many roles depends on follow-up negotiations; as long as Director Zhang Yiwei didn’t oppose Zhou Yun, it was fine.

Zhou Lan immediately messaged He Yong to help Zhou Yun secure this film. As a powerful figure in Chengqian Entertainment, He Yong’s network was much richer than Zhou Lan’s. This is also why many celebrities still sign with big companies which can achieve more than they can individually.

He Yong was arriving in Venice tomorrow.

Zhou Lan intended to ensure a meeting between He Yong and Director Zhang Yiwei.

Having planned this, Zhou Lan temporarily set it aside and went to find Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun was chatting with a producer.

Zhou Lan joined in their conversation with a smile. After the producer left, she said, ”Director Zhang Yiwei is preparing a new film, all details are confidential. He originally wanted Ning Yao to act, but Ning Yao is fully booked next year, so I want to try to get it for you. You should also take the initiative to talk to him later, don’t mention acting, just make an acquaintance.”

With it concerning Zhang Yiwei’s new film, Zhou Yun understood the importance and nodded.

Zhou Lan couldn’t help but inwardly marvel, Zhou Yun was truly the kind of artist any agent would dream of. Talented, sensible, understanding of human relations, principled and disciplined, with strong self-control.
