Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 327: Chapter 282: Rising Period: 118

”Life” was scheduled for screening on the fourth day after the opening.

Yao Yuanfeng was willing to invest in the production of a booklet about the film, planning to distribute it to every attendee on the premiere day, even if they were not film critics or journalists, but ordinary viewers.

The advantage of creating such a booklet is that it helps the audience better understand what the film is about.

However, Zhou Yun felt it was actually unnecessary.

The movie didn’t have many metaphors or cultural barriers; it was telling a universally understandable story with no risk of being misunderstood.

Nevertheless, Zhou Yun hadn’t seen the final cut of the film and didn’t know what the edited version looked like.

Before the premiere of ”Life,” Zhou Yun was interviewed by nineteen media outlets, ten from within China and nine from abroad.

Since Zhou Yun’s English was very good, she didn’t need a translator, which saved a lot of effort.

On the day of the premiere, Zhou Yun became nervous again.

It was a subtle feeling.

She wasn’t nervous because the film was bad, but there was anticipation and expectation, which naturally brought about this nervousness.

Zhou Yun wore the pre-selected fishtail dress, waited for the stylist to finish her hair and makeup, which once again caused a sensation.

”So beautiful,” Zhou Lan said, even though he had seen the final styling before, he was still amazed, ”If there’s a mermaid role in the future, you must try it.”

Zhou Yun laughed, nodded, and said, ”I’m looking forward to it.”

”There will be media interviews on the red carpet later, including some foreign media, all live broadcast, so be careful with your responses,” Zhou Lan reminded Zhou Yun, ”After waiting so long, we’re finally seeing the real thing.”

Zhou Yun felt her palms sweating.

She took a paper and wiped her palms.

”Let’s go,” Zhou Lan said.

...

In China.

A film and television city.

”Cut!” The director shouted through a megaphone, ”This take was very good, it’s a wrap.”

Song Chi got up from the ground, covered in dust.

His assistant hurried over to wipe the dust off his face.

Song Chi walked briskly to the side of the set, took his phone from his assistant, and sat down.

”Brother Chi, it hasn’t started yet, don’t be in a hurry,” Zhang Cong said with a smile.

As Song Chi’s assistant, Zhang Cong knew very well why Song Chi grabbed his phone first.

Song Chi asked, ”When does it start?”

”The official start time for the red carpet is in ten minutes,” Zhang Cong replied, ”Brother Chi, have some water first.”

He handed over the water bottle he carried with him.

Song Chi hummed a response.

It was already the afternoon, and despite it being September, the sun was still blazing.

Zhang Cong prepared a small fan for Song Chi so he could cool off while resting.

”Get me an iced latte,” Song Chi said.

”Sure,” Zhang Cong nodded and left.

Song Chi had already opened the live streaming app, waiting to watch.

The live broadcast of the ”Life” red carpet had started, showing the scene to everyone.

However, no one had started walking on the red carpet yet.

Song Chi really wanted to call Zhou Yun, but he figured she must be busy and wouldn’t have time for him, so he refrained.

At that moment, his co-star Fan Zhu walked gracefully towards him and crouched beside him, asking, ”Xiao Chi, what are you so engrossed in watching?”

Song Chi quickly flipped his phone onto his lap and flashed a smile at Fan Zhu, asking, ”Sister Zhuzhu, do you need something from me?”

Fan Zhu glared at Song Chi with a grievance and said, ”Can’t I come talk to you if I don’t have anything specific?”

Forty-year-old Fan Zhu still retained her charm. She naturally embodied the appearance of a Republic-era noblewoman, with powdered face and rouged lips, speaking in a tender voice, not seeming like a forty-year-old woman. Her way of speaking was identical to her character in the drama, and Song Chi, having shot with her for over ten days, was used to her style.

”Sister Zhuzhu, don’t tease me like that, I was just tired from filming and was browsing some short videos,” Song Chi chuckled.

Fan Zhu raised her eyebrows and asked, ”Are short videos that interesting? I see you holding your phone after scenes these days; you’re not as focused as before.”

Song Chi felt helpless.

He said, ”Sister Zhuzhu, I need to use the restroom, let’s not chat for now.”

Saying that, he stood up and walked away.

Fan Zhu wanted to stop him, but couldn’t find a reason quickly enough.

After Song Chi left, she pursed her lips in dissatisfaction.

Naturally, many people on set noticed her demeanor.

However, these were actors’ private matters, and everyone just watched without daring to speak out.

Song Chi retreated to a corner, sighed silently.

Actor Fan Zhu was not only a senior but also a senior with a background.

He couldn’t straightforwardly dismiss her and offend her; avoiding was the best strategy.

At this moment, the ”Life” premiere red carpet in Venice finally began.

The first guest to appear on the red carpet took everyone by surprise; it was none other than the famous director Chen Zian.

The live broadcast had hired guest commentators.

Although the commentators had access to some guests’ information, Chen Zian was not among them.

This gave them a huge surprise and even their voices became excited during the commentary.

”Director Chen Zian actually came to support ’Life’! I think Director Chen Zian doesn’t need an introduction from me, seeing this scene, I’m truly moved, a highly respected director supporting a young director’s film, it’s truly passing on the torch!”

”Director Chen has reached the interview area, let’s listen to Director Chen’s interview.”

The camera switched.

Apparently, the streaming platform had also sent reporters and cameramen for live interviews.

”Hello Director Chen, we are from Yuehai media. May I ask why you decided to attend the premiere of ’Life’ today?”

Song Chi’s first reaction to this question was that it was a really lousy question.

But Director Chen Zian, although shy and reserved in person, was well-experienced in handling such interview situations.

He smiled and said, ”I heard it was well made, so I wanted to come and see.”

Of course, the reporter wouldn’t let Chen Zian off so easily and asked further, ”Director Chen, could you share your upcoming work plans with us? Many fans would like to know when you’ll make another Mandarin film.”

Chen Zian politely smiled and responded, ”Currently, there are no suitable projects, but if there is, I will continue to make films.”

After answering two questions, Chen Zian waved his hand and said, ”I’ll go inside first.”

With that, he nodded slightly as a sign of courtesy and headed towards the screening hall.

At this moment, the second guest also appeared.

It was Wei Ruxue.
