Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 343: Chapter 298: Rising Stage: 134

Strictly speaking, when it comes to Cinema People, Shen Yao is definitely the first name that pops into many people’s minds.

Shen Yao’s movies have been achieving high box office numbers for several years in a row, one after another, each of his starring films has broken the 15 billion mark.

This is also why Shen Yao has been able to hold such a position in the film circle.

His audience base is extremely solid.

During the time when China’s box office was climbing steadily, he caught this favorable wind and established his own realm with his unique style of comedy films.

However, for various reasons, Shen Yao’s movies indeed can’t make it internationally.

No matter how high the domestic box office is, internationally, almost no one knows his name.

For an actor, who doesn’t want their films to be seen by the whole world?

It’s a natural ambition and desire.

Everyone sits down.

Actually, Shen Yao has gotten a bit chubby in his middle age, not as handsome as when he first rose to fame a few years ago.

But his chubbiness doesn’t make him look greasy; instead, it adds a bit of humor. Even when he sits motionless, posing like a silent oil painting, he still makes people laugh. This has become his unique characteristic.

And he isn’t much different in private than he is on camera.

He talks just the way he always does.

He doesn’t put on airs; at the beginning of the meeting, everyone was a bit unfamiliar and awkward, but he kept initiating conversation to keep the atmosphere from turning awkward.

They talked about Zhou Yun’s character.

Shen Yao even took the initiative to say, ”I’ll have the screenwriter see if we can add a few more good scenes.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yun immediately said, ”We’re about to start shooting, it’s better not, otherwise a lot of things will have to change.”

Shen Yao, smiling, said, ”How embarrassing to only let you play such a small part.”

While he said this, Shen Yao’s tone was actually one of satisfaction and happiness.

Zhou Yun didn’t know if Shen Yao was sincerely saying that or just being polite, but she truly didn’t want any trouble. She really didn’t have those kinds of demands about the amount of her role; after acting in ”Heart Inquiry,” ”Life,” and ”Dingfengbo,” she increasingly felt that meaningless scenes, no matter how many there were, were just filler, and always being in front of the audience only made them feel bored. Zhou Yun would rather appear less, but surprise everyone each time she did.

”I’ve never played this kind of character before, carefree, thick-skinned, a bit heedless of others’ opinions,” Zhou Yun laughed, ”I need to prepare a lot, having fewer scenes is actually better, I can concentrate more.”

Shen Yao: ”You really are the only actress I’ve ever met who doesn’t want to add more scenes.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

She said, ”I need to hide my clumsiness.”

This was something Song Chi had once told her.

An actor, especially in the beginning stages of acting, needs to know how to hide their weaknesses.

When experience isn’t so rich and acting skills aren’t so refined, don’t think about portraying a character completely, just focus on depicting one facet of the character.

For areas you’re not familiar with, you need to know how to hide your clumsiness.

These were all experiences Song Chi had summarized himself.

”By the way, when is ’Life’ premiering domestically? Don’t forget to send us two tickets when the time comes, we are all quite looking forward to it,” Shen Yao took the initiative to say.

This was him actively showing he’s willing to support her movie.

Zhou Yun appropriately showed her surprise and said, ”Of course, I will personally deliver the tickets to Brother Shen Yao and the director.”

Shen Yao extended his hand, smiling as he said, ”I wish us a pleasant collaboration.”
