Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 303: Chapter 265: Rising Phase: 101

”Is he... married?” Zhou Yun asked.

Zhou Lan shook her head and said, ”I don’t know, he probably isn’t. I haven’t seen any wedding info in his circle of friends, and we share many mutual classmates and friends. If he had gotten married, I most likely would have heard something unless they all blocked me and didn’t tell me.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Then have you ever thought about getting back together with him? If you still like him now, why not reconcile?”

”He and I have been apart for far too long. I don’t know what he is doing now, and he doesn’t know what I’m doing now. Do you understand what I mean?” Zhou Lan smiled helplessly, ”There’s no going back.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I just feel it’s a pity.”

”Even if we started over, we would still break up.”

”Why?”

”The conflict between us was already quite serious at that time. We were just tolerating each other, trying not to lose our tempers. Believe me, if there was even a sliver of a chance left between us, I would have never broken up with him. I believe he felt the same way,” Zhou Lan recalled the past, her eyes suddenly reddening.

Zhou Yun hugged Zhou Lan.

”It’s okay, Xiaoju is right, there’s definitely someone even better waiting for you in the future.”

Zhou Lan smiled faintly, remaining silent.

Is there really going to be someone better waiting for her in the future?

No, there won’t be.

She knew who the best person was. In this lifetime, there would be no one better than him, but they had already parted ways.

That night, the three of them drank quite a lot.

They shared a bed, passed out.

Until the next day, a ringing phone broke the silence.

Zhou Lan was the first among the three to wake up to the sound of the ringing.

She held her head, groggily searching for the source of the sound, finally finding it on the carpet.

It was Zhou Yun’s phone.

Zhou Lan picked it up and nudged Zhou Yun with her elbow.

”Get up, phone call.”

Zhou Yun opened her eyes in a daze, ”Who is it?”

Her voice was muffled.

”Song Chi.” Zhou Lan combed her hair with her hands and lay back down.

Zhou Yun answered the phone, still buried in her pillow, placing the phone against her ear.

”Hello?” Zhou Yun hummed softly.

Perhaps because she drank too much last night, Zhou Yun felt something pressing on her mind, unable to wake herself up fully.

”Still sleeping?” The voice of Song Chi sounded energetic.

”Mm.”

”I’m in Sanya,” he said. ”I’ll be at your hotel in about an hour.”

”What?” Zhou Yun jolted, suddenly invigorated.

”Let’s have lunch together later, it’s already half-past ten, time to get up,” Song Chi said with a laugh.

Zhou Yun slapped her forehead, ”It’s already half-past ten? I’m so sleepy.”

”How much did you drink last night?” asked Song Chi with a hint of amusement.

Zhou Yun asked in shock, ”How did you know I drank last night?”

Song Chi said, ”You called me, don’t you remember?”

”I called you?” Zhou Yun sat shocked on the bed.

She felt as if her head had been hammered, utterly confused.

”I truly don’t remember,” Zhou Yun cautiously inquired, ”What did I say? I didn’t say anything I shouldn’t have, did I?”

Song Chi asked with a chuckle, ”Is there something you shouldn’t say to me?”

”Don’t try to trick me, just tell me, what did I say on the phone last night? I have no recollection at all, are you pulling my leg?” Zhou Yun suspected.

Song Chi said, ”You’ll know if you check your call log later, you talked to me for over half an hour.”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

She had no choice but to believe now.

”So what did I actually say?” Zhou Yun was internally frantic.

She was full of distrust in herself.

But Song Chi wouldn’t say a word.

”It’s nothing, hurry up and get ready, I’ve already left the airport, I’ll be at the hotel soon.”

The call ended.

Zhou Yun sat on the bed, dazed for a long time.

”Dead, I’m dead,” Zhou Yun muttered incessantly.

Zhou Lan woke up to her muttering, frowned, and asked, ”What’s this ’dead, dead’ about?”

Zhou Yun covered her face, ”After drinking with you guys last night, I called Song Chi, but I have no memory of it at all. I don’t remember what I said to him. I must have said something I shouldn’t have!”

Zhou Lan reassuringly said, ”Since you don’t even remember what you said, how can you be sure it was something inappropriate? You are a sensible person, you definitely wouldn’t have said anything out of line.”

”If I didn’t say anything inappropriate, then why won’t Song Chi tell me what I said?” The more Zhou Yun thought about it, the more she found herself trapped in a dilemma of self-conflict, rolling on the bed and trying to bury her head under the covers.

Zhou Lan grabbed the blanket and pulled it away.

”So what if you did say it? It’s been said anyway.” Zhou Lan kicked Zhou Yun’s butt and asked, ”Why did Song Chi call you? Just to talk about last night’s call?”

”No, he said he’s here, just left the airport, and will be at our hotel in an hour,” Zhou Yun said with a stony face.

Zhou Lan’s expression paused for a moment.

She pondered for several seconds, then said, ”It seems that what you said to him on the phone last night was quite serious, for him to catch a flight over here early in the morning.”

Zhou Yun took a deep breath, wishing she could pass out from holding it.

Heaven knows what she had actually said.

But regardless, Song Chi would arrive at the hotel in an hour.

Zhou Yun could no longer fall back asleep.

She got out of bed and went barefoot to the washroom.

Zhou Lan followed and stood at the entrance of the washroom, arms crossed over her chest, watching Zhou Yun squeezing toothpaste onto a toothbrush and said, ”What we talked about last night stays between us; it shouldn’t be spread around.”

”I know, who would I tell anyway?” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan emphasized, ”That includes Song Chi.”

Zhou Yun rolled her eyes and said, ”Can you not bring up his name right now?”

”Pretending not to hear won’t solve the problem,” Zhou Lan said with a smirk, turning around and walking away.

Zhou Yun looked at herself in the mirror, okay, ”Hungover” written all over her face, especially her eyes, swollen as if she had cried all night.

”What did I actually say?” Zhou Yun asked the reflection in the mirror with a puzzled face, ”Zhou Yun, you didn’t lose your senses, right?”

At this moment, Zhou Yun could only deceive herself.

She definitely wouldn’t have lost her senses and said things that totally don’t match her usual style.

After she washed her face and went out, ready to apply some skincare, suddenly she caught a glimpse of Zhou Lan looking at her phone, her entire face shrouded in gloom.

”What’s wrong?”
