Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 313: Chapter 275: Rising Phase: 111

”Xiaoxue, don’t say that. I’ve had your ticket ready for a while. It’s not easy for a film to break into Venice, so I need everyone’s help to spread the word and boost the momentum,” Yao Yuanfeng was like a fish in water in this social setting, finding opportunities at every turn. ”Wen Bing is a very talented director. The movie ’Life’ is also exceptionally well made. I truly hope you all can see it as soon as possible.”

Wei Ruxue laughed, ”President Yao is praising the film so much, it must be really good.”

”It really is good,” said Yao Yuanfeng. ”Why do you think I realized that New Shield needs to start transitioning, to shift some of our focus to producing well-crafted movies, with humanity and emotion? I don’t want my years in filmmaking, all this time I’ve spent, to only produce those with highly engaging plots. Cinema is the art of the camera.”

More and more people gathered around.

He turned back and pulled Zhou Yun to the front, ”Moreover, Zhou Yun’s performance will definitely amaze you all. I must be honest. When I first asked Zhou Yun to act in this movie, I had no idea she would perform so splendidly. Her solo performance was so captivating that I couldn’t take my eyes off her.”

”Zhou Yun isn’t professionally trained, right?” Director Zhang Yiwei, who had joined unnoticed, asked.

At this moment, all eyes focused on Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun shook her head, ”No.”

Director Zhang Yiwei smiled, ”It seems we have another naturally gifted actress here.”

Zhou Yun, being praised in public, was even more embarrassed.

She smiled shyly.

Wei Ruxue said with a smile, ”Who knows, Zhou Yun might even win Best Actress at the Horizons Unit.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yun’s alarm bells rang in her head, and she quickly waved her hands, ”Sister Xue, don’t make fun of me, I still have a lot to learn.”

Who would have thought that at this moment Yao Yuanfeng would actually say, ”You never know, in any case, please support us enthusiastically.”

Wei Ruxue smiled very kindly, ”We are all cinema people from China. Of course, we must support each other at a time like this.”

”Ning Yao is here!” Suddenly someone nearby spoke up.

Hearing this, everyone turned their heads to look.

Zhou Yun saw a very thin woman, not tall, but with an elf-like aura, walking over.

She moved through the crowd, not meant to stand out, but somehow she seemed to naturally shine, drawing the attention of those around her.

Ning Yao.

Wei Ruxue waved her hand warmly, ”We’ve been waiting for you for ages, finally you’re here!”

Ning Yao start smiling, dazzlingly.

”Sorry to keep you waiting,” she said.

Zhou Yun stood in the crowd; a second ago, all eyes were on her, but at this moment, everyone’s attention shifted to Ning Yao.

Among active actresses aged thirty to forty, there are a few who can compete with her in other aspects, but in terms of acting and awards, Ning Yao is unrivaled.

Present directors like Chen Zian and Zhang Yiwei, who were old acquaintances, had cast her in their films.

Being selected by a great director, to act in a great director’s movie, that itself signifies something substantial.

Ning Yao exchanged pleasantries with everyone present.

Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan stood to the side, whispering, ”Should I take the initiative to greet her?”

Zhou Lan replied, ”Find an opportunity. Ning Yao is actually quite nice, much better than Wei Ruxue.”

Zhou Yun smiled and curved her lips up. At that moment, Ning Yao had just finished mingling with Yao Yuanfeng.

Zhou Yun saw a gap and proactively stepped forward to introduce herself, ”Sister Ning Yao, hello, I’m Zhou Yun.”

Ning Yao looked at her with pleasant surprise, her bright eyes examining Zhou Yun, ”I finally get to meet you in person.”

She hugged Zhou Yun spontaneously and without asking.

”I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time. I finally have the chance,” Ning Yao softly caressed Zhou Yun’s cheek with her right hand, ”I saw a clip of ’Heart Inquiry’ at Director Kang Xin’s studio; I really like your performance.”

Zhou Yun was overwhelmed by the honor.

Before today, she had never interacted with Ning Yao. Over two years, she had heard the name Ning Yao countless times and had been repeatedly compared with her. Zhou Yun was almost at a loss, her cheeks flushing red.

”Thank you, Sister Ning Yao. I like you a lot too,” Zhou Yun said.
