Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 308: Chapter 270: Rise: 106

At this time, the climate on Lido Island is very comfortable.

The breeze is cool, blowing over and making one’s mood pleasant.

Upon arriving at the hotel and checking in. New Shield had already arranged for someone to come over for work coordination. Zhou Lan handed her luggage to the hotel staff and asked Zheng Xiaoju to accompany Zhou Yun while she went to meet with New Shield’s staff to arrange subsequent work.

Because of the film festival, the hotel was far from empty.

While waiting for the elevator, Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaoju heard people speaking in a language that they couldn’t understand, not knowing which country they were from.

Zhou Yun said to Zheng Xiaoju: ”Xiaoju, you should also enroll in an English class later on, to brush up on your English. Working abroad will be the norm in the future, and knowing English will make things a lot easier.”

Zheng Xiaoju’s face was a picture of shock, her eyes wide, ”Do I, I also have to learn English?”

Zhou Yun heard an extreme lack of confidence in Zheng Xiaoju’s tone of someone who didn’t excel at studying.

She smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, normal communication isn’t like the English we learned in school for exams; it’s much simpler. Just think of it as learning a language. Being able to communicate normally is enough. Otherwise, imagine if you found yourself alone and if you couldn’t communicate with the people around you, you might not even be able to find your way back to the hotel.”

Zheng Xiaoju thought this over seriously, realizing that Zhou Yun was right. Even if she couldn’t master English, she should at least be able to hold a basic conversation, so as not to end up stranded.

Zhou Yun entered her room.

It was a large suite with a spacious living room and three bedrooms.

She excitedly took pictures of the room and sent them to Song Chi, saying: I’ve arrived at the hotel.

He replied instantly: Looks pretty good.

Zhou Yun said: Yeah, did you stay at this hotel the last time you were here?

Song Chi said: Yes, are others here yet?

Zhou Yun: Not yet, I arrived a bit earlier than them. I’m going to VX tomorrow. Zheng Xiaowen’s VX was established and started up here in Europe. Tomorrow I’ll meet her and confirm which dress to wear for the opening ceremony red carpet.

Song Chi: Do you want to rest for a bit, to adjust to the time difference? Are you tired?

Zhou Yun: I’m okay, a bit excited.

Song Chi: It’s unavoidable for the first time, but don’t get too excited. You’ve said it yourself; there’s still a lot to be done.

Zhou Yun: I understand.

After a while, Zhou Lan called to say she was going out to dinner with someone that evening and asked if Zhou Yun wanted to join.

Zhou Yun said, ”Xiaoju and I will go for a walk; I won’t be joining you.”

For her first visit to Italy, Zhou Yun wanted to explore the place on her own.

Turning her head back, she saw that Zheng Xiaoju had at some point fallen asleep on the couch.

The long flight of over ten hours must have been exhausting for Zheng Xiaoju, likely her first time on such a long flight.

Zhou Yun grabbed a blanket for Zheng Xiaoju and left her a note, then went out on her own towards the outdoors.

It was dusk, and the sunset enveloped the small island with its evening glow.

There were many people of various skin tones, coming from all over the world, almost each with a camera in hand, mostly tourists.

Zhou Yun drew a lot of attention when she appeared on the streets.

A good-looking person stands out wherever they go.

She walked along, browsing with her phone in hand, taking pictures. When the sun had completely sunk below the horizon and night had fallen, she entered a restaurant and found a seat.

While looking at the menu, a man suddenly sat down next to her and greeted her with ”Hi!”

He was a blond-haired, blue-eyed man, very good-looking.

Zhou Yun turned to him in surprise and replied with a ”Hi.”

Luckily, the man spoke English, ”You’re very beautiful, may I treat you to dinner?”

Zhou Yun did not expect him to be so forward.

”No, thank you,” Zhou Yun declined, ”I already have a boyfriend.”

”Oh, that’s a shame.” The blond, blue-eyed man showed his regret but politely did not persist and left.

Zhou Yun smiled softly and ordered her meal.

Song Chi sent another message, asking: You must be having dinner by now, right?

Zhou Yun took a photo of the interior of the restaurant and sent it to Song Chi, saying: I’m at the restaurant now, what about you?

Song Chi sent back a picture of a half-eaten boxed meal, saying: Eating.

Zhou Yun: At the set?

Song Chi: Yes, doing a cameo in a drama.

Zhou Yun: You’re working hard.

Song Chi: Yeah, it’s tough. Waiting for you to come back.

Zhou Yun’s eyes curled up in a smile, ”I won’t be back for another two weeks.”

Song Chi: No problem, I can wait.

Zhou Yun: It would be nice if you were here in Venice.

Here, abroad, there aren’t as many people who know both of them, and they don’t have to hide and dodge as much as they do in China.

Song Chi: There will definitely be a chance in the future.

Zhou Yun asked: What if people discover us dating and expose us?

Song Chi: Then we’ll just admit it openly.

Zhou Yun: Okay, we’ll agree on that.

Song Chi: If you’re willing, we can go public with it now.

Zhou Yun: Don’t joke about that.

Knowing it’s impossible, but still, Zhou Yun felt very happy to hear Song Chi say that.

”Zhou Yun?” A surprised voice suddenly came from the side.

Who could suddenly appear in a foreign land?

Zhou Yun turned her head in surprise, and a face she hadn’t seen in a long time appeared before her.

It was Chen Fusi.

”Mr. Chen!” Zhou Yun smiled joyfully, looking at the unexpectedly encountered Chen Fusi, ”What are you doing here?”

Chen Fusi was dressed casually, not in his usual formal attire, wearing slacks and a shirt with sunglasses hanging from the collar, which seemed to suggest he was there for leisure or vacation.

He said, ”I have some work to discuss over here, and I’m meeting someone tomorrow, so I didn’t feel like eating hotel food and came out for a walk. Are you here for the film festival?”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Yes, what a coincidence.”

”It’s not that much of a coincidence; I knew you were coming to the film festival, but I was planning to meet you in a couple of days.” Chen Fusi pointed to the seat next to Zhou Yun, ”May I sit here?”

”Of course,” Zhou Yun nodded.

Chen Fusi sat down and continued, ”I’ll also be attending the Chinese Film Night event.”

Zhou Yun caught on.

”I see.”

Chen Fusi asked, ”Why are you out alone? Where’s your assistant?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”She’s resting at the hotel. I just wanted to take a walk by myself. As you know, I rarely have this chance in China.”

”Hm, I see you are getting more famous,” Chen Fusi said with a smile.

Zhou Yun was a bit embarrassed and smiled shyly.

”It feels like luck.”

Chen Fusi nodded, ”Everyone needs some luck to succeed. No one can say they rely on 100% talent alone.”

Zhou Yun smiled even more shyly, ”Mr. Chen, you know that’s not what I meant.”
