Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 302: Chapter 264: Rising Phase: 100

”I don’t know now, right now I don’t know,” Zhou Yun shook her head and apologized with a smile, ”I’m only twenty-three, there are many things I haven’t experienced yet, but is the choice between love and career always exclusive? I would ask myself that.”

The interviewer showed a knowing smile.

”Thank you, Xiao Yun.”

Zhou Yun smiled sheepishly.

”Can I give you a hug?” the interviewer asked.

Zhou Yun was a little surprised and nodded, ”Of course, you can.”

After the interview ended, Zhou Yun returned to the hotel accompanied by Zheng Xiaojue.

On the way, she thought about the question again.

Career and love, which could give her a sense of security?

At the time, she actually had an answer in mind. Without hesitation, of course, it was her career.

She could have actually chosen to answer ’career’.

But this answer was going to be written into the interview article. Zhou Yun subconsciously felt that if Song Chi saw this interview, saw her answer, he might be unhappy.

”How should I put it, if I really had to analyze the question rationally and objectively, I think both Song Chi and I would choose the career, right? It’s just that, maybe in a moment when love blinds us, we might feel love is more important than anything, but when we really calm down, it’s really, really hard. But again, ’but’, we can’t stop ourselves from liking someone, even if we say career is most important, our inner balance still keeps tilting towards love, when we are tired and busy with work, when we are alone and lonely, when we see couples all around us, when we sleep alone at night and remember the natural happiness that bubbles up inside when we’re together, sometimes, I don’t care about anything, I just want to be with him, and to hell with everything else.”

Zhou Yun, Zhou Lan, and Zheng Xiaojue sat on the fuzzy carpet in the room, forming a triangle.

There was no work tomorrow, and they could rest.

Therefore, Zhou Yun chose to indulge a little and pulled them together for some drinks.

Once they drank more, they started to become more talkative.

Zhou Lan shook her head with a smile when Zhou Yun spoke at length.

”You’re only twenty-three, where do all these thoughts come from?”

Zhou Yun glared with her bright eyes, ”Sister Lan, not to hide from you, I’ve really had several moments when I thought, I don’t want to be an artist anymore, I like Song Chi, screw it all, I just want to be with him. Why should I care about this and that? I wanted to give up on work, just to be with Song Chi.”

”You wish!” Zhou Lan said, ”Zhou Yun, don’t even think about it.”

”Don’t be in a hurry, when I wake up the next morning, such thoughts disappear,” Zhou Yun said, waving her hand with a smile.

Zhou Lan sighed and said, ”You know I’ve been in this industry for a long time, I’ve seen too many people who get foolish over love, with great career prospects ahead, everyone around you supports you, the whole industry is pushing you up, but at the best of times you fall in love, now good, fully focused on love, your heart is all on someone else, work is half-hearted, career stalls too, wasting a year or two, love fails, and now when you want to turn back and fight for your career, but I’m sorry, nobody is waiting for you, no one’s willing to give you opportunities anymore, you’ve been a cautionary tale, nobody dares to bet on you again. You know there was a female celebrity, very promising, fashion magazines actively invited her for covers, she blew off confirmed shoots to be with her boyfriend, if there was a real emergency, everyone would understand, but just because she wanted love, once this kind of news spread, who would trust you? Work is not just about you, lack of professionalism affects more than just yourself.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Can’t career and love truly be possessed at the same time?”

”Of course, they can, but just don’t do something foolish like ’I want love and not career’ or ’I want career and not love’, that’s just silly,” Zhou Lan said, ”Love can be romantic, but must not lose sanity. Career can be challenging, but must not be unrestrained.”

”Sister Lan, you sound like a philosopher,” Zheng Xiaojue chuckled.

The little girl was drunk, her cheeks all red.

Zhou Lan: ”What philosopher, just seen too much.”

”Last time you were in love, when was it?” Zhou Yun asked curiously.

Ever since they partnered, Zhou Yun had never seen any ambiguous men around Zhou Lan.

Zhou Lan’s expression suddenly turned a bit empty and lost, and after a while, she said self-mockingly with a smile, ”College, actually he was my high school classmate, at the time we agreed if we got into the same university, we’d be together, then we got into the same university, and we were together, later, he chose to go to grad school, but I didn’t, I went to work after graduation, we spent less and less time together, then we broke up.”

Zhou Yun was hearing about this for the first time from Zhou Lan.

She asked, ”Sister Lan, are you still in contact with him?”

Zhou Lan said, ”Still have him as a WeChat friend, but, never chatted again.”

”Why haven’t you deleted the friend?” Zheng Xiaojue asked in surprise, ”My friends would delete their exes if they broke up.”

Zhou Lan smiled and said, ”We were not only lovers, but also high school and university classmates, we have a lot of mutual friends, and, we didn’t have an ugly breakup, it wasn’t a furious split, it was a peaceful separation.”

”Sometimes I also look at his Moments, wanting to know how he’s doing.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Sister Lan, you still like him?”

To Zhou Yun’s surprise, Zhou Lan actually nodded directly and said candidly, ”Like.”

”Still like?” Zhou Yun confirmed in astonishment.

”Still like.” Zhou Lan spread her hands, revealing a touch of helplessness on her face, ”I’m also surprised, after so long, I still like him.”

”Wow.” Zheng Xiaojue exaggeratedly widened her eyes, ”Sister Lan, you’re really more faithful than my friends.”

Zhou Lan chuckled.

”Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever like someone so much again in my life.”

”Sister Lan, don’t say that, there’s plenty of fish in the sea.” Zheng Xiaojue patted her chest earnestly and with a firm tone, ”Believe me, in the future, there will definitely be someone better waiting for you.”

Zhou Lan looked at the goofily drunk Zheng Xiaojue and laughed, ”Has this child watched too many romance movies lately?”
