Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 336: Chapter 291: Rising Phase: 127

Xu Siyao walked into the meeting room.

The newly arrived Vice President Zhou Heping was sitting on the sofa, seemingly waiting for her.

”You’re here,” Zhou Heping looked up at her and smiled slightly.

A man of merely thirty-five years of age holding a high executive position at Chengqian Entertainment, after being parachuted in from headquarters, had already sparked much speculation and gossip internally.

What exactly was Zhou Heping’s background, many exerted all efforts to find out, but only knew his rapid promotion at headquarters was like being strapped to a rocket.

Everyone said he had strong backing, yet no one knew what that backing was.

The more mysterious it became, the more it made people cautious and reluctant to take him lightly.

But Zhou Heping had taken the initiative to contact Xu Siyao and asked her to meet at the company.

Xu Siyao didn’t know the purpose behind Zhou Heping’s action, but she had no reason to refuse an invitation from a company executive.

Especially from an executive with such a mysterious background.

Xu Siyao gave Zhou Heping a smile and said, ”Director Zhou, you asked me to come, is there something you need?”

”I want to discuss a cooperation,” he said.

”Cooperation?” Xu Siyao showed a hint of surprise, ”What could we possibly cooperate on?”

Zhou Heping said, ”Where Zhou Yun and He Yong have room to cooperate, so do we.”

Xu Siyao’s eyes flickered. She wasn’t sure if she had misunderstood Zhou Heping’s meaning.

”Director Zhou, what do you mean?”

”Do I need to make it even clearer?” Zhou Heping said, ”You should be a smart person.”

Xu Siyao laughed and said, ”She’s now the Best Actress at an international film festival, why don’t you cooperate with her?”

Zhou Heping spoke in a rather indifferent tone, as if mentioning it offhandedly, ”I find you more to my liking.”

Xu Siyao laughed, surprised.

...

Late September.

Hongqiao Airport.

The weather was still somewhat hot, the azure sky as if dispersed of all clouds by the sun, unabashedly spread until the edge of heaven.

An international flight had just landed.

Half an hour later, a group of people emerged from the gate.

The person picking them up took a second glance at this mighty procession; among them, a woman wearing a T-shirt and wide-legged linen pants, and donning sunglasses and a mask looked somewhat familiar and carried an air of quality.

Who was she?

Before they figured it out, the group had already left.

And then stopped thinking about it.

Perhaps she just resembled some celebrity.

They did not know that this group included Zhou Yun, who had just won at the Venice International Film Festival a few days ago.

After winning the award, Zhou Yun did not immediately return home. She had previously arranged work, going to the United Kingdom and France for magazine shoots and interviews.

Only today did she return after touring around for a few days.

The domestic buzz about her had substantially subsided.

Her return to the country today was unknown to the public, allowing her to quietly get into the car and leave the airport.

He Yong had even asked if she wanted to have dinner together tonight.

Zhou Yun simply shook her head, saying she was tired and wanted to go back to rest.

So, they parted ways at the airport.

”Finally back!” Zheng Xiaojue said excitedly, ”I’ve really missed our homeland’s delicacies!”

Zhou Lan scolded with laughter, ”You always play cute after gaining an advantage, so many people wish they had a chance to go to Venice.”

Zheng Xiaojue protested, ”But really, the food there couldn’t compare to ours.”

Zhou Yun chuckled, ”I kind of miss eating hot pot too.”

Zheng Xiaojue’s eyes lit up, nodding, saying, ”Me too!”

Hearing that, Zhou Lan said, ”Why don’t you both come over to my place tonight? I’ll make hot pot.”

Zheng Xiaojue immediately turned to Zhou Yun and asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, are you going?”

If Zhou Yun wasn’t going, she definitely wouldn’t feel good about going to Zhou Lan’s place alone to mooch off a meal.

After all, Zhou Lan was her immediate boss.

Zhou Yun hesitated for a moment and said, ”I’ve already made plans to have dinner with Song Chi tonight.”

Zhou Lan said, ”Then why not just invite Song Chi over?”

”Ah?” Zhou Yun asked, ”Invite Song Chi to your house?”

”What, he can’t come?” Zhou Lan asked, ”Or do you guys have special plans tonight? If there are special plans, then never mind.”

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”There’s nothing special planned, alright, I’ll ask him.”

She made a phone call to Song Chi.

”Sister Lan said to come to her place for hotpot tonight, can you make it?”

”Sure,” Song Chi said, ”I’m still on set, I won’t be able to get to Shanghai until 6 PM.”

”Okay, do you want me to pick you up?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi: ”No need, you rest well. Did you just arrive at the airport?”

”I’ve already left the airport, indeed feeling a bit tired, want to sleep.” Zhou Yun said.

Song Chi: ”Okay, rest first, see you tonight.”

After hanging up, before Zhou Yun could speak, Zhou Lan asked, ”Does Song Chi have any dietary restrictions?”

Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t think so, he seems to eat everything.”

”Good.”

Zhou Lan immediately made a call to arrange for delivery.

After finishing the call, she suddenly remembered that she was about to join the crew for ”Gentle Little Horse”, she was about to ask Zhou Yun about it when she turned around and found Zhou Yun had already fallen asleep on Zheng Xiaojue’s shoulder.

Zheng Xiaojue was also asleep.

The two of them leaned against each other, using each other as pillows.

Sunlight streamed in from the car window, casting a warm glow over them like sunbathing in the afternoon.

Zhou Lan looked at this scene, her lips curling slightly, suddenly feeling the urge to capture this moment.

She took out her phone and snapped a picture.

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue slept all the way until they reached the base of Zhou Lan’s building, where they were woken up.

She rubbed her eyes and said, ”I feel like my bones are lethargic, as if I’ve been drugged.”

”Up you get, go sleep on a bed.” Zhou Lan said.

Their luggage was in another car, following behind them.

A staff member came to ask, ”Should we bring the luggage up?”

Zhou Lan pointed at two of the suitcases and said, ”Just bring these two up.”

Zhou Yun yawned as she got out of the car.

Once inside, her drowsiness disappeared.

This wasn’t Zhou Yun’s first visit to Zhou Lan’s house; she confidently slipped on slippers, lay down on the sofa, and pulled out her phone.

Zhou Lan said, ”Make yourselves at home, I’m going to change clothes.”

Zhou Yun yawned a long yawn.

At that moment, Yuk Chu suddenly sent a message.

The phone vibrated.

Yuk Chu said: Xiao Yun, did you hear? Your annoying junior Xu Siyao seems to be with Chen Wenjun now.

Zhou Yun was surprised by the message and asked: Really?

Yuk Chu said: I’d heard before that Xu Siyao and Chen Wenjun were quite close, my agent told me just now, it was caught on camera.

Zhou Yun: I haven’t heard about it, but after Chen Wenjun broke up with Lew Qingqing, Xu Siyao indeed was quite close to him, I thought she was just trying to please Chen Wenjun.

Yuk Chu: But there’s a very sensational piece of news.

Zhou Yun asked: What sensational news?

Yuk Chu: Chen Wenjun seems to want to get back together with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Yun was shocked: ?????

Yuk Chu: It seems Xu Siyao has been clinging to Chen Wenjun, which made Chen Wenjun realize the goodness of Lew Qingqing and now he wants to reconcile.

Zhou Yun: I really didn’t expect that.

Yuk Chu: But I don’t know if this news is true or not, I also heard it from someone else. But if Chen Wenjun really wants to reconcile with Lew Qingqing, do you think Lew Qingqing would agree?

Zhou Yun furrowed her eyebrows, pondered seriously for a while, and said: Don’t know, but I think Lew Qingqing seems quite fond of her current boyfriend, maybe she wouldn’t want to reconcile with Chen Wenjun.

At that moment, Zhou Lan came over, saw Zhou Yun engaged happily with her phone, and asked who she was chatting with. Zhou Yun then shared the news Yuk Chu told her with Zhou Lan.

”With Lew Qingqing’s temperament, she might not be willing to reconcile with Chen Wenjun; remember how she sarcastically addressed Chen Wenjun at that ’Victor’ event?” Zhou Lan said, ”Perhaps Chen Wenjun is just using Lew Qingqing as a shield to get rid of Xu Siyao.”
