Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 337: Chapter 292: Rising Phase: 128

”If Chen Wenjun really thought that, then he’d be a total scumbag,” Zhou Yun commented directly.

Zhou Lan sat down, picked an orange from the fruit bowl, and while peeling it, said, ”Whether he really thinks that way or not, I don’t know. But, I’ve told you long ago, no one ever stays by his side for long. Even when he was with Lew Qingqing for those years, he never stopped flirting with other women. Do you think that’s why Lew Qingqing broke up with him?”

Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t know why Lew Qingqing broke up with him, but is she still with her boyfriend? The student, what’s his name?”

”Li Qi,” Zhou Lan replied, ”Their relationship is going quite well. Lew Qingqing recommended her boyfriend for many drama auditions. At first, we all thought Lew Qingqing was just dating a younger guy to get over her break-up with Chen Wenjun. But now it looks like she’s actually quite serious about it.”

Zhou Yun remembered the first time she met Li Qi, a somewhat quiet, nervous, and restrained boy in her impression.

”He’s pretty handsome.”

”That time she brought Li Qi to the event and announced in front of all the reporters that she had a boyfriend, Li Qi became an instant hit.”

”Really?”

”He’s been on several variety shows. Being Lew Qingqing’s boyfriend, he’s quite a hot topic,” Zhou Lan said with a laugh. ”The guy hasn’t even graduated yet, and he’s already signed with Lew Qingqing’s company.”

”When I interacted with her boyfriend before, he didn’t seem like the type who likes to bask in her spotlight or someone with big ambitions,” Zhou Yun remarked. ”That time he met me and Song Chi, he was awkward as hell. Lew Qingqing was drunk and talking nonsense, he was even more embarrassed than her. Just a boy with a thin face.”

”Being in a new relationship and being in one for a while are completely different things,” Zhou Lan said as she broke an orange in half and handed it to Zhou Yun. ”The longer you’re together, the harder it is to tell what’s mine and what’s yours. As for ambition, I reserve judgment on that. I don’t believe there are people in this world without ambition; it’s just a matter of whether it’s noticeable or not.”

Zhou Yun laughed.

Zheng Xiaojue came out from the restroom and asked, ”Sister Lan, Sister Xiao Yun, what are you guys talking about?”

Looking at Zheng Xiaojue, Zhou Lan suddenly asked, ”How’s it going with that young guy from your hometown?”

”What’s going on?” Zheng Xiaojue asked.

The bright blankness on her face made it clear that she genuinely didn’t understand what Zhou Lan was asking.

Zhou Lan explained, ”Don’t you often go out and have fun with a young guy from your hometown? After hanging out for so long, have you not developed any feelings?”

Zheng Xiaojue finally understood what Zhou Lan meant with such a direct question.

Her face blushed instantaneously.

”Lan, Sister Lan, we’re just friends.”

Zhou Lan smiled in surprise.

”Really?”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded vigorously and said, ”Really, Brother Xiao Ze and I are just friends. He has someone he likes.”

Zhou Lan glanced at Zhou Yun.

It was as if she was looking for Zhou Yun’s agreement.

Zhou Yun didn’t pick up the thread and continued the topic about Chen Wenjun, saying, ”If Xu Siyao really gets entangled with Chen Wenjun, surely Chen Wenjun won’t just kick her to the curb.”

”Don’t think men are so kind, Chen Wenjun can be ruthless and cold-hearted,” Zhou Lan said. ”In this regard, although Yao Yuanfeng has his flings, he’s much more decent than Chen Wenjun. At least the women who have been with him are well taken care of.”

Zheng Xiaojue sat down next to them.

Zhou Lan looked at Zheng Xiaojue’s tender little face and suddenly felt a sigh coming on, ”I heard that once a female college student was tricked by Chen Wenjun into having an abortion for him. As soon as the deed was done, Chen Wenjun turned his back, deleted all contact information, and never let the girl contact him again.”

Zhou Yun was shocked.

”Is that true? That’s too much.”

”That’s why do you think Lew Qingqing stayed with him for so long without going public? Chen Wenjun’s reputation outside is terrible, and the public image is poor. If Lew Qingqing went public with their relationship, it would definitely meet with opposition from her fans, and the backlash would be severe.”

After a while, Zhou Lan answered a phone call and got up to talk. When she came back, she found that Zhou Yun was already asleep on the couch.

Zheng Xiaojue was busily texting someone on her phone, her thumbs flying.

Zhou Lan draped a blanket over Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun slept soundly, oblivious to the passage of time. Some rustling sounds drifted into her ears, and she sleepily opened her eyes, suddenly hearing Song Chi’s voice.

”Where is she?”

”She’s asleep on the sofa.” This was Zhou Lan’s voice.

Zhou Yun sat up, one hand bracing against the back of the sofa, her voice weak, ”I’m awake.”

She lazily raised a hand to indicate her presence.

Song Chi chuckled, walking over.

”How long did you sleep?” he asked.

Zhou Yun glanced at the wall clock and said, ”Three hours, I think.”

Song Chi sat down and placed Zhou Yun’s feet onto his thighs.

”Jet lag hasn’t hit you yet?”

”No, just tired. I felt my arms were sore as soon as I got off the plane.” Zhou Yun unconsciously pouted.

Seeing Zhou Yun’s little action, Zhou Lan rolled her eyes and turned to head into the kitchen.

”Nice to see you again, student Zhou Yun.” A familiar voice rang out.

Zhou Yun looked up to see Li Ge, Song Chi’s high school classmate.

”You’re here too!” Zhou Yun said, somewhat surprised.

Li Ge said, ”He called me over to be the driver.”

Zhou Yun: ”I appreciate the hard work.”

It was then that she smelled something delicious.

”Smells good, is the hot pot ready?”

Zheng Xiaojue was setting out bowls and utensils.

Zhou Yun stood up and asked, ”Do you need any help?”

As she inquired, she headed towards the kitchen.

Zhou Lan said, ”I’ve made soup, you can serve it.”

”Oh.” Zhou Yun searched the cabinet for soup bowls.

Once everything was ready, the five of them sat down.

Zhou Lan opened a bottle of champagne and asked, ”Who can’t drink?”

Li Ge said, ”I have to drive.”

Song Chi said, ”I’ll have a bit, but I have to film tomorrow, so can’t drink too much.”

Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”You have to film tomorrow? When will you be going back to the set?”

Song Chi said, ”Li Ge will drive me to the airport later, I’ve booked a flight for tonight.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”So when do you have to leave?”

”Nine thirty.”

”Song Chi, you’re really something, arriving at my place at seven, and leaving again at nine thirty. All this back and forth, just to have a meal with us? Oh no, wrong, to have a meal with Zhou Yun.”

Zhou Lan gave Song Chi a tsk-tsk look.
