Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 339: Chapter 294: Rising Phase: 130

Under Zhou Lan’s gaze, which countless times seemed on the verge of speaking but then holding back, Zhou Yun finally had her fill of food and drink, and put down her chopsticks.

”I’m so full. It was after going abroad that I realized I still have a Chinese stomach,” she remarked.

Zheng Xiaojue stared with her round eyes and nodded, indicating agreement.

”Same here, I feel like my soul has returned,” she said with a laugh.

While talking, her mouth was still full of food.

Song Chi teased: ”It was a trip well worth it, you’ve made up for the unsatisfactory meals with this one.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Honestly, I’m only saying this to you guys, I feel really embarrassed now.”

”Embarrassed? Why?” Li Ge was especially puzzled.

In his eyes, Zhou Yun’s trip abroad was a triumphant return, so what was there to be embarrassed about?

Zhou Yun said, ”Winning the award was truly exhilarating, but now there’s this atmosphere everyone’s creating like I’ve gained immense recognition and become a success. It’s particularly the case online, my fans are praising me to the skies... I don’t even know how to describe it, they’re really exaggerating as if I’ve accomplished something earth-shattering. It makes me feel like I’m treading on thin ice.”

Li Ge looked at her in surprise.

Zhou Lan, with a smile beaming in her eyes, walked behind Song Chi and poured him a glass of water, saying, ”Look how worry-free I am. Ever since managing Zhou Yun, I haven’t had to be concerned about anything outside of my professional duties. I haven’t even said anything, and she’s already being self-aware and self-reflective. If other actors suddenly received such an honor, they would have been over the moon by now. But look at her, worried about this and that.”

Song Chi pondered and said, ”Laying low for a while would be better for you.”

”Right? That’s what I think too.” Zhou Yun said, ”Especially now, no matter where I go, people congratulate me. Honestly, I’m now afraid of the two words ’Movie Queen.’”

Zheng Xiaojue raised her head and said, ”But you are the Movie Queen now, why not let people say it? Even my family knows you’re the Movie Queen.”

Zhou Yun gave Zheng Xiaojue a glance.

Zhou Lan laughed and sat back down, ”Movie Queen or not, let’s set that aside for now. There are some tasks that you can’t just push away, especially those you’ve already committed to.”

”Sigh, I thought I could finally play the diva,” Zhou Yun said with a sidelong glance at Zhou Lan, pretending to be pretentious.

Li Ge laughed brightly, ”Zhou Yun, if you were like this in our company, you’d be besieged by everyone. Others can’t get what they want, but you, you’ve got it and still find it all sorts of trouble.”

Zhou Yun widened her eyes and said, ”Of course I want it, but the trouble is real. It’s not like I’d go talk about it publicly, I don’t want to be pelted with eggs.”

”Good to know,” Zhou Lan said.

After a satisfying meal and drink.

Li Ge and Zheng Xiaojue helped Zhou Lan clean the table.

Zhou Yun was also about to help but was chased out of the kitchen by Zhou Lan with, ”Song Chi is about to return to the set, aren’t you going to spend some time with him?”

Zhou Yun saw Song Chi standing on the balcony, his silhouette merging with the shadows of the night, tall and handsome.

She walked slowly over with her hands behind her back.

”Are you here zoning out by yourself?”

Song Chi turned around, the indoor light casting a glow on his face.

He smiled, still looking like a spirited young man.

A spark of light gleamed in his eyes.

He said, ”I wasn’t zoning out, I was waiting for you to come over.”
