I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 317 - 317 313 Feigning Ignorance and Deceit317: Chapter 313: Feigning Ignorance and Deceit 317: Chapter 313: Feigning Ignorance and Deceit Lady Sharon had lived for several hundred years and had never come across such a troublesome little thing!

However, it was precisely such difficulty that made things interesting.

Creatures too easily tamed offered no sense of triumph in conquest.

She took pleasure in seeing the rebellious spirit of her prey slowly ground away, backed into a corner, left with no options, until they ultimately submitted to her will.

Which was why, at this moment, she wasn’t particularly angry; instead, her interest had only increased.

She slouched against the bar as if boneless, propping up her body with her arm, and her slender fingers casually played with a lock of pitch-black hair, twirling it slowly as she fixed her gaze directly on Mu Ying, “I don’t want to do anything, I just like you, the kind of like that makes me want to take a bite out of you.”

She even pretended to be fierce and bared her teeth as she spoke.

With a look of disgust, Mu Ying leaned his neck back a little further away from her and didn’t forget to turn his head to Liu Luoluo, asking, “If she were a man, saying things like this, what would you feel?”

Liu Luoluo imagined it for a moment, and her expression stiffened, “Scumbag!

A skeevy scumbag without any sense of propriety!”

The vampire filter shattered into pieces, and she had to admit, real vampires were not like what she had imagined.

Their form of affection was the kind that sought your life.

Romantic?

No, it would only make your skin crawl.

Mu Ying nodded in approval, summing it up well.

Although she loved the affection of beautiful women, it wasn’t the kind where one was treated as prey.

Lady Sharon hadn’t understood the meaning of “scumbag,” but she got the gist of “skeevy.”

“That kind of talk isn’t cute, you know,” Sharon continued to exude charm.

“Sister, I’m female, straight, and this is my boyfriend.

Even though the Lord is single, he probably doesn’t like women, right?

I don’t mean to discriminate against homosexuals, but wanting someone’s life is not called liking.”

Liu Luoluo said earnestly.

Shi Yin, the figurine sitting on Mu Ying’s shoulder, couldn’t stand the word “single” anymore, floated down to her hand, one hand on his waist, the other pointing at the silver ring on her hand.

Shi Yin: Can’t you see such a huge partnership contract?

This girl here is already taken!

Mu Ying looked at his angry and discouraged gestures and on a whim knocked on the bar and said, “Although you’re absolutely right, I’m not single.”

Liu Luoluo: Σ(⊙▽⊙”???

“What?

Not single?

Which man could possibly deserve you?”

The figurine Shi Yin sat beside her hand, grinning foolishly.

The same foolish smile was shared by the young man trudging through the starry sky.

“That’s not the point.

The point is, Lady Sharon, don’t talk about liking or not liking.

As a vampire who has lost her life, do you really still possess the emotions from when you were alive?

You want to bite our necks and drink our blood, and I too want to eliminate ill-intentioned enemies.

In a situation where our interests are so opposed, let’s forget about winning hearts,” Mu Ying said.

She hesitated whether she should add Sharon and her companions to the list banned from her territory.

Denying them entry might be the safest course of action, but there were advantages to letting them in as well.

With territorial rules for protection, players would be in no danger as long as they didn’t go out with them, and this would also make it more convenient for Mu Ying to collect intelligence on the vampires, grasp their movements, and the vampires’ adherence to the rules upon entry would also generate tax revenue for the territory.

Still, there were safety hazards.

As she kept tabs on Sharon’s movements, Sharon could do the same with theirs.

She wasn’t particularly scared herself, even though Sharon was one Profession Level higher and had lived longer, making her more familiar with her own combat system.

But now she had Little Red.

The weakness in close combat was also compensated for, and she had Magic to assist her; the status as a Trialist meant her strength wasn’t limited to her Profession ability alone.

Since Sharon wasn’t a Trialist—if she were, she wouldn’t have been allowed to settle in Deep Blue Star with an instance, just like how a new company wouldn’t hire you if you had a contract with another employer—it meant that in a direct fight, Mu Ying’s chances of winning might be slim, but the gap wasn’t that wide.

The enemy was a Magician and there was no profession restraint, so ensuring her own safety shouldn’t be a problem.

The key concern was the safety of the Local People.

If Sharon changed her target and started to attack the territory’s players, learning their movement patterns, that could still be quite risky.

Not to mention Sharon herself, even the civilian level vampires had Profession Levels of 8, along with many Vampire Talent Skills, which for players, would spell doom.

Moreover, there were still six vampires who hadn’t arrived; their exact levels were unclear, but they likely weren’t higher than Sharon’s.

They were probably Blood Crow’s servants, transformed by her, and given their inferior Talents, it was unlikely their strength had increased faster than hers.

Fortunately, Sharon wasn’t the kind of vampire who wanted to bite and transform everyone she caught; she chose her prey with her own standards, seemingly preferring people with good looks.

Plus, inside the Blood Crow Nest, aside from her, there were only seven vampires altogether, which wasn’t many.

Her pickiness probably wasn’t just for show.

So, Mu Ying thought that if she could keep Sharon’s focus on herself, she probably wouldn’t target others for the time being, which would also buy some time.

Regarding the Emerald World, there had been some progress with the infectious Potion.

She might be at a slight disadvantage when facing the enemy head-on, but there were ways to weaken the opponent’s strength.

The Blood Crow Nest was too important to Sharon and her kind, as they sustained life and replenished their energy with blood acquired by the Blood Crow flock’s plundering.

Their hibernation graves and coffins were also guarded within the Blood Crow Nest by the flock.

A vampire in hibernation was vulnerable, different from a human who could wake up at will; unless their hibernating coffins or graves were disturbed, they wouldn’t wake up midway, and doing so would affect the vampire’s condition.

Therefore, the hibernation place was a highly secretive and critical existence for vampires; if their enemies located it, that would pose a grave danger.

But Sharon’s hibernation place was easy to guess; it must be near the white castle at the center of the Blood Crow Nest, the safest place for them, which could also move with the nest.

If Sharon and her kind weren’t confident in the Blood Crows, would they be at ease to leave the territory?

If the Blood Crow flock was rendered useless, it would significantly affect Sharon and her group; at the very least, the clouds darkening the sky above the nest could disperse some.

If sunlight could directly penetrate during the day, then attacking their lair would come with a natural buff.

Those few civilian-tier vampires would virtually be crippled, and it would no longer be Sharon leading the Blood Crows and servants to surround them, but Mu Ying and her group surrounding Sharon.

With her strength as a level 9 Magician, she wouldn’t be able to compensate for much, and then she would be the one to fear.

Therefore, Mu Ying just needed to bide some time, and the vampire threat could be easily addressed.
