I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 239 - 239 236 New Year’s Gift239: Chapter 236: New Year’s Gift 239: Chapter 236: New Year’s Gift Mu Ying, unable to speak due to the chattering, found it unbearable that Wolf Form language was not understood and reluctantly transformed back into human form.

With one hand, she grabbed Lily’s two flailing little claws and with the other, pinched her cheeks, “What were you thinking to learn from her, my eyes are burning!”

“Who’s ‘her’?

What’s wrong with me?

I’m so cute!” the discontent female ghost protested loudly.

“Liu Luoluo, ask your boyfriend what he thinks.

Cute or not?” Mu Ying rolled her eyes.

Liu Luoluo stared at Si Li with wide eyes.

Si Li took the tongue out of his mouth, “Pretty.”

Liu Luoluo smiled triumphantly at Mu Ying.

Mu Ying looked at her exposed teeth and leaned her head back, “Have your teeth gone red?”

“Hehe, scary, right?” Liu Luoluo said proudly.

“I happened to come across a mermaid looking for Mushroom Man to make red Fluorescent Powder, so I anticipated the theme effect of this lantern festival and prepared this outfit specially.

Isn’t it fun?”

“Yeah, yeah, Yingying must have been scared too, right?

Hehe!” Lily laughed, clearly enjoying herself.

“...” Mu Ying sighed, “Alright, as long as you’re happy, go and inflict this on others!”

Anyway, out of sight, out of mind, she teleported back to the Plantation.

The garden was extremely quiet, even the Gem Fairies were still out playing with Gungun and the others.

She sat on the balcony of the Magic Hut, wrapped up in a thick blanket, killing time on the forum, feeling chilly from the winter breeze against her skin, despite the damage endurance from the elements.

With a while yet until midnight, she opened the Player Manual, planning to browse the forum to pass the time.

“Susu~”

Mu Ying’s ears twitched, and her gaze fell on the bushes below the balcony.

With the Magic Wand in her hand, she waved it lightly, and the thing in the bushes was plucked out.

The palm-sized wolf-eared young boy was disheveled, but not as exaggerated as the first time he came looking for her, when his clothes were tattered.

Yet, the dark circles under his watery eyes made him look even more pitiable.

Is dark circle makeup trending now?

Although Mu Ying knew that the essence of Avatar Shi Yin was a Wolf Brush and that a Wolf Brush wouldn’t wear clothes or get dark circles — it was all an act — she still couldn’t help but feel sorry for him, “Why are you only coming back now?

Did something happen?”

Avatar Shi Yin patted her fingers, gesturing her to be at ease, then floated to the ground next to her, pulling all sorts of strange little toy bricks from his pocket, building something.

He built for a while, then would roll up his sleeves, glance at the hand-drawn watch on his left wrist, then either speed up or slow down the pace.

Mu Ying was confused watching him.

Checking the time, couldn’t he at least make a real watch face appear?

Can he really tell the time with that?

However, watching him busy himself seriously was quite interesting; it seemed like a large project.

Had he gone out and bought some new toys?

After a long time, she recognized that it took the shape of an arch.

Was it a bridge or a door?

When the great construction was complete, Avatar Shi Yin checked the hand-drawn watch on his wrist, nodded solemnly, and transformed into the shape of the Wolf Brush, landing atop the half-human-high arch of toy bricks.

The plain little building blocks suddenly emitted a blue light, which looked a bit like the Replica gate.

A familiar wolf paw was the first to stretch out from the Light Gate, followed by a head, and then a body.

Although it was a bit difficult for him to come out due to his large size and the small gate, Mu Ying recognized him instantly, after all these years of depending on each other for survival.

“Silver!” Mu Ying, thrilled, threw herself onto his head, burying her face in his soft and floating fur, took a deep breath of the familiar touch, familiar scent, it really was him!

For some reason, she suddenly felt a pang of heartache, and her eyes started to moisten.

Did she actually miss him so much?

After all, she had the figurine Shi Yin with her all the time!

But actually, it wasn’t the same as his real self.

Silver Wolf enjoyed her embrace and sneakily transformed into his human form, patting her back softly, “I’m back.”

Mu Ying felt something was off with the touch and pushed him away.

The wolf form of Silver could only show that he had grown much stronger than before, but his human form had undergone significant changes.

He still had the look of the youth he was when he left, and his eyes were just as tender, but his whole demeanor was much sharper.

The ears and tail that used to be impossible to hide were gone too.

“You can finally control your human form well?” Mu Ying was both happy for him and felt a tinge of regret at no longer being able to touch his ears.

The embrace was too brief, and before Shi Yin could even respond, he heard her words, his eyes flickered slightly, and a pair of wolf ears popped out, “Hmm, still not quite under control yet!”

“Don’t worry, now you can walk around with a pair of wolf ears without fearing being captured for research.

On Deep Blue Star now, there’s every kind of species, my territory has Half-Breeds, mermaids, and Mushroom Men, everyone gets along so well, even Da Hui and the others are here, you don’t have to hide from anyone anymore!”

Mu Ying comforted him, while taking the opportunity to touch his ears.

“The ears of your real body feel much more comfortable to touch!

The Avatar is so small, I was afraid of damaging it!”

Shi Yin’s face turned red to the root of his neck, luckily the light was dim, and Mu Ying didn’t notice.

Yingying really likes him, and she didn’t get angry at all about the mate contract!

After all, touching a Werewolf’s ears, you have to take responsibility, right?

A certain wolf completely forgot that he was feeling guilty about censoring a lot of information about the ring.

“Right, have you completed your inheritance?

Now that you’re back, are you staying for good?” Mu Ying asked him.

Shi Yin lowered his head, “The inheritance isn’t complete yet, and...

I sneaked back this time.

It took me a lot of effort to make this transport gate by circumventing the external controls, and I couldn’t bring anything with me.

Also, it can only last for two hours, I’m sorry, there are no New Year’s gifts, no birthday presents, I can only stay with you till midnight.”

No wonder he came back later than expected, it sounded like no easy feat.

“You are the best New Year’s gift, the best birthday present already!” Mu Ying consoled him, but she still worried, “You won’t get caught coming like this, will you?

Is it dangerous?

This Doomsday Game isn’t really that cruel, I’m adapting quite well, so don’t worry, don’t take such risks, I feel that at a certain Stage, the world’s blockade will be lifted, and then we’ll be able to see each other naturally.”

“But I didn’t want you to spend New Year’s alone, today is your birthday too, every year we’ve spent it together,” Shi Yin said, looking pitifully at her.

Mu Ying’s heart softened, she gently touched his ears, tomorrow is his birthday too!

He struggled to come to her in the last two hours of today and yet didn’t consider his own birthday at all.

“Okay, okay, you must be careful and take good care of yourself.

There’s not much time left, haven’t you eaten yet?

Let me tell you, I’ve become a Trialist, and I’ve learned some really impressive Magic, which I can also use for cooking.

I’ll impress you with it today.

Have you heard about the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial?

The Ten Thousand Worlds Trial...”

Mu Ying opened the floodgates of conversation, usually these everyday trivialities, she had no one to share with, Shi Yin was her only confidant.

Not only did they rely on each other for survival, they had complete trust in one another.
