I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 247 - 247 244 Elf Fruit Tree247: Chapter 244: Elf Fruit Tree 247: Chapter 244: Elf Fruit Tree After the meeting, Mu Ying spent two days implementing the viable suggestions that could be immediately acted upon as mentioned during the meeting.

The Iron Refining Camp didn’t need to be rushed into construction, so Mu Ying first posted a recruitment notice.

For the stone road construction, she issued a territory task and delegated the placement of the stone road models to the local people.

Otherwise, relying solely on herself, the time and energy required to pave the roads would be too much.

It would be better to release the task, allowing the local people to earn some money and Contribution Points, while she could spend more time preparing for the next upgrade.

However, the granary issue did not resolve as smoothly.

She could only design a granary without any special functions; in the end, it was just a spacious big house.

The blueprint design functionality wasn’t omnipotent.

For now, she had just built a large granary made of wood and stone at the Public Farm Camp.

These tasks altogether took less than half a day.

Thus, on the fourth day of the new year, while the afterglow of the celebration had not yet passed, new recruitment and territory tasks had the local people entering a new round of busyness.

[Trial Time: Tomorrow]

Iron refining was a rare skill, but the road construction task with rich rewards was something everyone could partake in.

“It’s finally our turn!

Those recruitment tasks, except for the sub-camp leader, don’t pay as well as what we earn from gathering materials outside.

It’s a shame the sub-camp leader must have special skills.

Now, at last, there’s a task we can take on with our strength!”

“This is the first time I’ve seen a task with such high Contribution.

There’s finally some hope for becoming an official resident!”

...

The road construction task was good news for those players who were still focused on cultivating their Professional Experience and who had slightly higher combat abilities.

They had gotten used to the days of adventuring and fighting in the wilderness, did not prefer the mechanical energy-consuming work in mining camps, and this task was perfect for them.

So they reached out to teammates, and those without enough members temporarily cooperated with other teams.

The Sky Square, the shores of Moon Lake, and the taverns and eateries were filled with discussions.

Meanwhile, having posted these two messages, Mu Ying started a new round of plant cultivation work.

During this period, she didn’t neglect the trials, using up all the free trial time each day.

However, the trial character in the Emerald World would have to stay in Canteryala for half a year, getting through the witch trial period before she could continue her journey.

Therefore, in the Emerald World, she stayed in the magic hut by the lake outside Canteryala, spending her days cultivating new magic plants in the Portable Medicine Garden or concocting magic potions and studying magic.

Although she had graduated, there was still much she hadn’t learned from the materials she had copied in the library over two years.

It included magic as well as magic potion formulas, some commonly used and some not.

Mu Ying always believed there was nothing completely useless, just that she hadn’t yet encountered the right opportunity, so she didn’t let anything pass her by.

She even practiced other branches of magic, and although she was a green witch, with poor talent for elemental magic like fire, water, ice, and others, she kept practicing.

Just like Su Na, a Red Witch, who could use a bit of plant magic to make flowers bloom, fooling the King and Queen and amusing the little princess.

Even if she couldn’t master the less proficient magic, just knowing a little could sometimes be very useful.

Of course, she mainly focused on what she was good at, especially Herbal Cultivation, mainly because its results were most beneficial to her in reality.

After converting and successfully cultivating Lamp Vine Seeds last time, Mu Ying’s experience progress shot up significantly.

[Profession: Druid Lv6 (1505/2100)]

She was just 595 Experience points away from leveling up.

If she could cultivate one or two stable plants, she would be close to leveling up.

Besides, among the gifts she received for the New Year, the seeds of aquatic plants from Priestess Granny didn’t have a suitable environment for planting, but the Elf Fruit Tree seeds sent by Half-Breed Clan Chief Ned, the precious fungal spores from the Mushroom Men, and the berry seeds from Wuyaya could all be tried out, even if the current temperature wasn’t quite suitable—they could experiment in the greenhouse.

These plants, none of which were native to Deep Blue Star and which Mu Ying had never encountered, were new to her.

Even though she didn’t invent them, planting them for the first time was good for her understanding of nature and could also net her some natural power.

Mu Ying started by identifying each seed with Biological Recognition, categorizing identical seeds together.

Clan Leader Ned had sent a total of three types of seeds: Mianmian Fruit, Clear Fruit, and Sisi Fruit.

There were over ten seeds of each type.

“Mianmian Fruit seeds, perennial Elf Fruit Tree.

When the mature Mianmian Fruits are simply roasted, they provide a richer taste and more satiety than bread, not recommended for non-Elves to plant.”

“Clear Fruit seeds, perennial Elf Fruit Tree.

The mature Clear Fruits harbor either a sweet spring or a richly flavored clear wine, not recommended for non-Elves to plant.”

“Sisi Fruit seeds, perennial Elf Fruit Tree.

The mature Sisi Fruits are filled with strong, soft fibers, the main material for making Elf silk, not recommended for non-Elves to plant.”

The results of the identification delighted Mu Ying, as all were very practical fruit trees, especially the Sisi Fruit, which could produce fabric—a type of plant their territory currently lacked.

Before the apocalypse, the area around Coastal City hadn’t grown such plants, and she hadn’t found any in the seed market then either.

Although these three trees were difficult for non-Elves to cultivate, they should be easy for a genuine Elf like her, and also yield a high production.

Mu Ying immediately took one seed of each type and began to cultivate them in the greenhouse.

She used Druid Tricks to spur germination, planted them, watered them with Recovery Spring, and instantly gained 30 Professional Experience points.
