I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 246 - 246 243 Staff Meeting246: Chapter 243 Staff Meeting 246: Chapter 243 Staff Meeting On the third day of the new year, all the heads of the sub-camps currently in the territory gathered in the meeting room of the reception hall to discuss their developmental suggestions for the territory and the sub-camps.

Apart from the sub-camps managed by Half-Breeds themselves and the Undersea Corridor sub-camp, which serves only as a trading venue with the Mermaid Clan, the remaining sub-camps are important sources of income for the territory.

The materials produced can not only be directly converted into energy to build the territory but can also be sold for money.

Mu Ying also wanted to pool wisdom and resources since she alone couldn’t always think of everything thoroughly and did not have enough time and energy to consider these issues; doing whatever came to mind.

Listening to everyone’s ideas was also a good thing.

Because the meeting time had been notified in advance, everyone had organized their thoughts a bit.

“Let’s start by discussing any good development suggestions for your respective sub-camps,” Mu Ying got straight to the point.

“I’ll go first,” said Professor Su, representing the three mining camps, “The stone, mineral, and coal mining camps themselves don’t have much room for improvement.

However, there is one thing – selling the raw materials directly or converting them all into the territory’s energy seems a bit too wasteful.

Since we have abundant reserves of iron and coal mines, we might as well try steel refining, which will be more profitable...”

As she listened, Mu Ying nodded her head in agreement; steel refining indeed seemed feasible.

Coal mines were generally sold to the Local People as fuel, and there was still a lot to spare.

As for iron ore, it was mainly supplied to the blacksmiths.

Actually, only a small part was converted into energy; she had stockpiled most of it.

Utilizing these resources would be beneficial.

She noted this down on paper, “That’s possible.

I will recruit someone skilled in iron refining as soon as possible, and then set up an Iron Refining Camp.

We will choose the location in the Chaotic Stone Forest.”

“May I recommend someone for this?

His name is Han Tiesheng, a material scientist before the apocalypse; he should have no problem with iron refining.

He is currently in Lingtian Town; I can vouch for him.

He truly is an expert in this field,” said Professor Su.

Mu Ying nodded and noted down the name, “Once the Iron Refining Camp is constructed, I will issue a recruitment notice, and he can come over at that time.”

Xu Shan, Ah Qiang, and Guan Hai were from the territory, and she had personally inspected their qualifications before they could directly assume the role of sub-camp heads.

Even so, there was a probation period attached.

Liu Luoluo and Zheng Jing were also hired after she got acquainted with them and understood their abilities.

For other people, decisions would be made only after assessment.

Anyway, in the future, besides a head, the Iron Refining Camp would definitely need some technical workers.

Iron refining was different from mining; it was not just about manual labor.

Moreover, just refining iron was not enough; it would be better if they could train some people in forging techniques.

Then it was the turn of Liu Luoluo and Zheng Jing, who were in charge of the Breeding Camp.

“We discussed yesterday and hope to apply for more Fertility Potions this year to expand the breeding scale.

It’s more suitable to use these on livestock, whether it’s for meat production or as mounts, we need to expand the scale.

Additionally, we want to research food processing, like smoked meats and hams that have a longer shelf life.

These can not only supply the residents of the territory but can also be sold to other territories.”

Mu Ying looked at Zheng Jing and said solemnly, “The original name of the Fertility Potion was Easy Fertility Potion, which was indeed created by me to expand the breeding industry.

The Contraceptive Potion, originally named Contraceptive Medicine, was a byproduct in the process of making the Easy Fertility Potion.

It was only after what you said that day that I hurriedly made it available for use by the Local People.”

She didn’t have a boyfriend, but she drank a Contraceptive Potion to support Mu Ying’s work, Zheng Jing: ” ...”

She had a boyfriend but didn’t want children for the time being, Liu Luoluo: ” ...”

This Potion was originally made for livestock anyway.

“Cough, your suggestions are very meaningful.

I will make a batch of the Easy Fertility Potions when I have time.

As for food processing, we will set up a research lab at the Breeding Camp and promote it on a large scale after we get results.

You two will still be in charge here,” Mu Ying said, then quickly changed the subject, “Lin Shang, it’s your turn!”

“I don’t have many thoughts, just honestly working the fields is enough for me.

The farm’s produce is sufficient for the territory, but a little short for exporting.

My suggestion is to build a granary to store the surplus grain for unexpected needs.

This year’s planting plan will also prioritize high-yielding crops that can fill the stomach,” Lin Shang spoke.

Having lived through the apocalypse, he believed that stockpiling goods provided a sense of security.

Mu Ying thought he made sense too, “We can build a granary, and I agree with the suggestion to store grain.”

She took note of the granary construction plan on paper.

Lastly was Professor Du, “I want to form a small business team, as a precaution for the future.

Our territory already has richer products than others, plus many specialties.

In the future, if we can produce ironware and food products, the small business team can be put to use immediately.”

Mu Ying agreed to this as well and designated a room in the territory reception center for Professor Du to use for the business team’s activities.

Finally, it was time to discuss the Main Territory, where everyone spoke freely, voicing whatever came to mind.

Lin Shang: “How far are we from upgrading to the next Territory Level?”

Mu Ying: “I’m not sure about that.

There’s no progress bar for Territory Level, unlike Profession Level.

We can only explore slowly.

It probably depends on factors like the number of Local People and prosperity.”

Liu Luoluo: “Our population growth is already very good.

After the New Year event, even more people are thinking about coming to our territory.

The forum has been increasingly vocal about this.”

Zheng Jing: “I think our territory’s got everything going for it, almost like a holiday resort before the apocalypse.”

Xu Shan: “Lord, can we build an arena or training ground?

Right now, everyone is accumulating combat experience through actual combat outside.

If there’s an arena for PvP, that would be great, and it could attract a bunch of strong fighters to our territory.”

Mu Ying: “Good idea, I’ve thought about it too, but the most important aspect of an arena is to ensure the safety of the combatants to a certain degree.

However, our Territory Level isn’t high enough, and the blueprint designs are insufficient to support the construction of such functional buildings.

We could consider a more spacious training facility, but after it’s built, it would be similar to the Sky Square.”

Professor Su: “Can we build more Long-distance Transmission Arrays?

There are many No Master Camps far away from these two territories, and it’s extremely difficult for them to come to Qingshan Town.”

Mu Ying: “That’s not feasible for the time being.

If the destination is a No Master Camp, then the cost of building the Transmission Array, which is 100 Gold Coins, has to be fully funded by our territory.

No Master Camps haven’t the possibility of upgrading.

I suspect that their Territory Shields’ Levels probably can’t be raised either.

Although I don’t know the specific level, they might face problems in the future changes, and we can’t afford the loss.”

Professor Du: “What about stone paths then?

We still have a lot of stone.

Could we lay down more stone paths?”

...

Whether the suggestions were effective or not, they were all very enlightening for Mu Ying.

Her notebook was filled with a page full of ideas and suggestions.

Some could be implemented immediately, some needed to wait a bit longer and could be done in the future, and there were quite a few she hadn’t thought of.
