I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 218 - 218 215 Into the Sea Again218: Chapter 215: Into the Sea Again 218: Chapter 215: Into the Sea Again “Haha, little princess, you’re quite something!

You know, you really have a knack with that whip, almost like Mu Ying!” Liu Luoluo commented.

Mu Ying’s face darkened as they reached the end of the street, “Let’s go, let’s go.

Since everyone is here, let’s go for the prize draw.”

“Hey?

Why are you in such a hurry?” Liu Luoluo said.

But they followed her anyway.

The crowd at the prize draw booth was quite thin at the moment.

Mu Ying had only spent about 50 copper coins tonight and could draw five times, while Liu Luoluo and the others could do it three times.

They all drew the prizes together, but their fortunes diverged.

Mu Ying, looking at the string of Bomb Fruit Vouchers in her hand asked the Half-Breed staff, “Are you sure there’s no rigging going on here?”

The Half-Breed also felt helpless, “Why don’t you go buy something else and try again?

You’ve already taken all the Bomb Fruit Vouchers, and these are fairly rare in the direct exchange category in the draw box.

You got five in a row, which has a smaller probability than winning the top prize, meaning your luck is actually quite good.”

“Well said, don’t say it again next time,” muttered Mu Ying, thinking she should have used Blessing Magic on herself before the draw as a cheat.

The Bomb Fruit was no longer a secret to the territory players, even the local beasts knew about it; how was she supposed to eat it if she exchanged it again?

“Hahaha, you really are fated with the Bomb Fruit,” Liu Luoluo and the others burst out laughing.

Mu Ying yawned, “I’m a bit sleepy, I’m heading back, bye!”

After saying that, she disappeared with Gungun through teleportation.

Liu Luoluo, Zheng Jing, and Nie Ying were left behind, their laughter uncontrollable.

“I’m leaving the vouchers for you to play with, I’ll be heading to the sea again tomorrow, you stay and watch the house,” Mu Ying gave the Bomb Fruit Exchange Vouchers she won to Gungun.

Having played enough and eaten enough, it was time to continue mining.

The Dingling Flowers still needed a few months to mature, and now that the situation had stabilized, the Gemstone Elf could help with looking after things.

She had also stored up a batch of Contraceptive Potions during this time, enough to last a long while, making it the perfect time to head out.

This time, she was fully mentally prepared for a prolonged battle underwater, having saved up nearly a month’s worth of Trial Time, planning to spend two hours each day in the Emerald World to lighten her mood.

Gungun: You’re not taking me again (・`ェ ́・)つ, huh!

After a good sleep in the house, Mu Ying transformed into an Owl the next morning and flew towards the sea.

Passing by the Fishman Replica, the whole instance was eerily quiet, devoid of any Fishmen.

Not far from there, at the edge of a forest, there was a broken shack with several stoves and large pots on them.

Seeing this scene, Mu Ying couldn’t help but remember a conversation she’d overheard from other players.

“If we wait any longer, the pots for boiling oil will start to rust.”

“Fishmen are probably too scared to come out again after being slaughtered so often.”

“Sigh, the Ghouls turned cowardly, the Fishmen did too.

I heard there’s a Blood Crow Replica in Spirit Dragon Gorge with loads of crows.

No matter how many we kill, their number doesn’t seem to decrease much.

Maybe we should try there?”

...

“Could this hut with the pot be the place they mentioned for boiling oil?”

Mu Ying mused belatedly, it was so close to the instance, almost arrogantly like setting up a pot at the family’s doorstep waiting to cook people—who would dare to come out?

As soon as someone ventured out, here would still be fighting, and there, their companions would be cooked; although the Fishmen were a bit crazy, they still knew fear.

She shook her head and spread her wings, flying toward the sea, beginning her journey to find ore.

On the way, she even checked on her turtle master and brought it some food.

Only near the coal mining spot did Mu Ying transform into a turtle and slowly descend into the sea bed.

This ocean, being shallower than the area with the iron mine, harbored far more sea life.

Mu Ying even spotted a sea creature she had previously longed for, a tiger shark.

Seeing how the schools of fish fled at its approach, its presence was truly commanding.

She was thankful it drove the schools of fish her way, allowing her to experience her first hunt as a turtle, and seized the opportunity to bite into a small fish and enjoyed her meal.

As for the fishy taste, that was non-existent.

Her changed form meant a different bodily structure and taste senses.

Having had the experience of transforming into a Wolf Form and an Owl, Mu Ying felt far less psychological resistance in her turtle form.

Snagging a small advantage was pure joy in her turtle life; the tiger shark didn’t even glance at her, this big sea turtle, as if seeing her was like chewing something hard!

With her four short legs, Mu Ying wanted to follow and watch the shark hunt but decided it was best to just stick to her task.

This area was lush with coral and sea grass, both wrapped in the aura of natural power.

There were also some mutant plants and Magic Beasts present.

Even though she was in turtle form and couldn’t use Biological Recognition, she knew that there were no trees growing under the sea and that pearls inside Pearl Clams do not glow when opened.

The former were not trees like coral trees but looked almost like the trees onshore, with a brown hue and deep blue patterns on the trunk, and blue veins on the leaf stalks, but they were definitely trees.

Moreover, they appeared to be saplings that had just sprouted not long ago and had a denser aura of natural power than ordinary plants.

When the latter, the clam shells, were closed, they looked pretty normal, but once opened, the pearls inside lit up like little light bulbs, although the lighting distance wasn’t far, two palm-sized Pearl Clams had a lighting effect that was just slightly inferior to candles.

This phenomenon had intrigued Mu Ying, who previously had to use spells or magic for illumination manually.

She even postponed her mining task for a while to focus on this.

She herself was doing alright, now living in the Magic Hut with built-in Magic Lamps, thus having no worries about lighting issues during the night.

But her Local People, during the glowing cucumber season, it was manageable as they could use them as light bulbs, but after the season, they had to revert to using candles and oil lamps.

In the Mushroom Man Dungeon, the fluorescent substance extracted from Night Light Plants could glow, and during the flowering period of Asparagus Flowers in the territory, they emitted fluorescence matching the color of the flowers at night.

However, these were not sufficient for lighting, just enough to ensure one wouldn’t stumble or lose sight of their hands during nighttime walks, not bright enough for any detailed tasks.

Moreover, this luminance from the plants wasn’t available all year round but seasonal.

Last night, Half-Breed City extensively used the fluorescent substances from the Night Light Plants in their building structures but ultimately had to supplement with many candles.

Mu Ying had been contemplating this issue for a while; when designing the territory’s construction blueprint, arbitrarily including a lighting feature would multiply the spent energy and still wouldn’t achieve instant results.

Continuous energy consumption like the Territory Shield was involved would prove less cost-efficient than using candles or oil lamps.
