I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 209 - 209 206 Public Farm Sub-camp209: Chapter 206: Public Farm Sub-camp 209: Chapter 206: Public Farm Sub-camp [Bulletin Board Three: Sub-camp One: Public Farm Camp Notice (Tentative)]

[1.

This camp is a territory Public Farm Camp, primarily used for the territory’s unified planting of food crops and cash crops.

We are now recruiting one technical advisor with rich crop planting experience and one Druid player to serve as the person in charge of the Public Farm Camp.

After the probation period, enjoy the benefits of being an official resident of the territory for that position.]

[2.

Effective immediately, players may take up territory missions to enter the Public Farm Camp and help reclaim the land.]

“Really hate that my Perception isn’t high enough, not a Druid, ah!”

“I used to farm, heh heh, might as well sign up and give it a try!”

“Druids are clearly the planners’ darlings, how are other professions supposed to live!”

“Look, don’t let them be in too much of a hurry to leave; a sub-camp has at most 300 plots of land.

If you’re late, forget about taking up a territory mission.”

...

For a time, the territory players’ envy of the Druid profession surged once again.

But in fact, Qingshan Town did not even have two Druids enlisted.

The Spell Casting Attributes required to enlist in a Spell Casting Profession were somewhat daunting, unlike Skill-based professions that focus more on the three physical Attributes of Strength, Constitution, and Agility.

There’s a training path for growth, and with a bit of extra effort put into training later, there’s still room for improvement.

Intelligence, Perception, and Charm, these three Spell Casting related attributes seem to come naturally, either you have them or you don’t, and the methods to train them remain unknown.

Almost a year since the apocalypse, the rarity of Spell Casting professions and their somewhat irreplaceable roles had gradually become more apparent.

On the forums, Mages, Priests, Druids, and Magicians were jokingly referred to as the chosen ones.

Among them, Mages were born but not nurtured by fate, Priests and Druids were the darling sons carefully looked after by fate, whereas Magicians were given a bit of property by fate only to be sent off to fend for themselves.

As for Magic and Skill-based professions with a slight Spell Casting ability, they were the distant relatives of fate, still able to bask in a bit of its glory.

The most unfortunate Skill-based professions were like strangers, not too welcomed.

It’s quite an apt metaphor.

Today’s news quickly spread on the forums.

“What exactly is that Spell Mu Ying mentioned?

If it truly doubles the yield, Qingshan Town will definitely be a major food producer in the future.

Players living there probably won’t have to worry about going hungry, right?”

“I’m a Level 3 Druid, and that Spell isn’t in my Magic List.

It’s likely a third ring Spell, which is a pity since my Perception is only 12.

Second ring Spells are my limit, so I have no chance of learning such a powerful Spell.”

“Above, you get 1 Natural Attribute Point at Level 4, so there’s still hope for you!”

“If you above learn it, can you try it in my field?”

“Quick, tag the Lord!

She has a good relationship with Mu Ying, and she could ask Mu Ying to cast a Spell on our territory’s farmlands too!

We’re running out of grain in the fields!”

“Qingshan Town’s Lord: That’s a different price!

Haha!”

“As long as the price is right, I think our Lord wouldn’t mind.

After all, there’s a territory to sustain.”

“We in the Ximei Region probably can’t count on Mu Ying.

Local Druids, work harder!

We’ve already fallen more than one level behind; when will we be able to learn such Spells to benefit the masses?”

“Haha, that’s not necessarily true.

Who knows, maybe our Lord has just learned another Sea Beast transformation.

If she moves fast enough, maybe she can swim across.”

“You’re behind the times.

The top-secret news I’ve recently heard is that our Lord learned a flying creature transformation.

Crossing the sea is no longer a dream.”

“Forget it, I’d better save up for a teleport to Qingshan Town.

I want that Druid position!”

For a moment, Druids around the world wished they were in Qingshan Town.

Mu Ying felt the permissions for Field No.

1 had been opened, and she teleported in.

In fact, she could teleport to various parts of the territory, even into the residents’ own Tree Houses, but pretending to need “permission first” was just a way to make residents feel more secure.

However, this time, after teleporting into Field No.

1, Mu Ying felt she had been hasty and should have added another rule, no visiting.

The master of Field No.

1, Zheng Jing, along with her team of sisters, was watching.

A small patch of field was crammed with five, six, seven, eight people, obviously having waited there for a long while, and based on the size of Zheng Jing and Nie Ying’s team, they were even holding back.

“Hehe, they’re just a little curious about how the spell casting works,” Zheng Jing said sheepishly, “Is what they say on the forums true?

Is it a Level 3 spell?

That powerful?”

Her Perception was at 12 points, and with the free attribute point she would get when leveling up to 4, she might be able to reach Level 6 in the future.

If it were a Level 3 spell, she might have a chance to learn it as well.

Mu Ying nodded, “It’s quite effective; it just takes a toll on the Druid.”

Zheng Jing initially didn’t understand what “takes a toll on the Druid” meant.

Not until after Mu Ying had begun to commune with nature and cast the spell.

She then remained in the position for communing, standing hour after hour.

Zheng Jing could feel the Natural Power soaking into the soil beneath their feet, spreading out; clearly, the spell casting was still ongoing.

From morning till afternoon, from daylight to darkness, the spectators tired and left, but Mu Ying stood in the same spot without moving.

Zheng Jing stayed just to see how long the spell casting would actually take.

Her vigil lasted until the sun set and the moon rose.

“You haven’t left yet?” Mu Ying opened her eyes to see Zheng Jing sitting on the ground and said in surprise.

Zheng Jing nodded, “I finally understand what ‘takes a toll on the Druid’ means.

Do you manage to sustain this daily spell casting?”

Mu Ying didn’t respond but instead recited an experience prompt, “[You have completed a session of professional cultivation and received 15 Professional Experience.]”

Zheng Jing immediately understood, “You get experience rewards for casting this spell?”

Mu Ying nodded, “Sometimes more, sometimes less, usually between 10-20 points.

For me at this stage, that’s quite a lot, so it’s worth it.”

Zheng Jing, who was only Level 3 herself, didn’t have as hard a time gaining Professional Experience as Mu Ying did, but she also noticed that the Experience Value gained from planting the same crops was decreasing.

For a Level 6 Druid, it would probably be even harder.

“You’ve worked hard, let’s go to the tavern for a drink,” Zheng Jing invited.

Mu Ying had never mentioned charging for spell casting, but as a beneficiary, Zheng Jing still wanted to show her appreciation.

Mu Ying thought about it and agreed.

At this point, she was indeed very tired.

Standing for eight hours straight was exhausting not only physically but also mentally since she was the medium for the spell casting, having to constantly monitor the spell’s effect on the soil.

It was a dual depletion of both body and spirit.

Now that it was done, she was a bit lazy about going back to cook.

She had to continue spell casting the next day, so relaxing a bit was also acceptable.

Moreover, the tavern was no longer the place where you just ordered food with hardly any choice.

They had partnered with Sela Restaurant, so now one could order dishes from Sela Restaurant right in the tavern, very convenient.
