I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 243 - 243 240 Employee Benefits243: Chapter 240: Employee Benefits 243: Chapter 240: Employee Benefits On the forum, discussions about the New Year’s event in Qingshan Town had already started bustling.

“Has anyone from Qingshan Town come out and share what you all got in the Lord’s red envelopes?”

“It’s been quiet till now, could it really just be one copper coin?”

“More than half an hour passed after midnight and still no movement, could it really be as the person above guessed?

Haha, I’m dying of laughter!”

...

“Have you ever considered another possibility, maybe we partied too hard?”

“I indeed drew just one copper coin, but my roommate, that lucky dog, got a big bag of green potatoes!

We won’t have to worry about food this winter.”

“Pardon my asking, but what are green potatoes?”

“Just another color of sweet potato, but even tastier.

They are also mutant plants from after the apocalypse.”

“Good heavens, you people in Qingshan Town even eat mutant plants.

Aren’t you afraid of genetic issues?”

“I really appreciate your concern, I do hope my genes mutate a bit, towards something better.

With all these plants and animals mutating, I don’t want to be left behind.”

“Me, me, I drew a silver coin, haha!”

“Rub some of that lucky aura off on me!”

“I drew lots of vegetables, the one who got the green potatoes, should we talk about trading something?”

“Sure thing, sure thing!”

...

“After seeing the contents of the red envelopes from Qingshan Town, I regret once more why I didn’t travel to Xia Country before the apocalypse!

I want some too!”

“The key is, it sounds so lively, is this really the apocalypse?”

“I feel like we are in the apocalypse, they are on a vacation!”

“+1”

...

Mu Ying saw that the reviews on the forum were not bad; it seemed her slight delay today hadn’t caused any major issues, and she finally relaxed.

Besides these luck-based unified red envelopes, Mu Ying also issued staff red envelopes according to the service times and work performance of leaders of each sub-camp over the year, each containing a card she had handwritten.

In every red envelope, there was one Lamp Vine Flower, followed by food like grains, vegetables, fruits, and preserved fruits, mostly the same contents except for different amounts of money.

At that moment, the red envelopes were all transported to the entrances of individual restrooms in their respective sub-camps.

Most of the sub-camp leaders, to save money, took good advantage of employee benefits and usually stayed in the quarters provided at their sub-camps.

Only the leaders of the Iron Mining Camp and the Coal Mining Camp, due to their camps being underwater and finding it quite oppressive to live there long-term, chose instead to live with their mentor, Professor Su, at the Quarry Camp.

Now that the red envelopes had been grabbed and the frenzied playing was almost over, everyone gradually transported themselves to their own restrooms.

Then, they were met with an even bigger surprise.

In particular, Luoluo’s was the most exaggerated.

Mu Ying had fulfilled her request and made her a life-sized human-scale red envelope.

If it weren’t for the fluorescent powder on the red envelope, Luoluo, dressed up like a female ghost, nearly got scared to death by the gigantic thing.

Once she lit a candle and saw clearly what it was, Luoluo was both happy and sad.

Happy because there was another big red envelope waiting for her to open, sad because the “big” she wanted wasn’t this kind of “big”!

She pressed her hands together and prayed to the god she served, “Bless me with a truly big red envelope!”

Then, she carefully opened it.

“???” Where’s the thing?

Liu Luoluo had half her body dug into the red envelope before she found a small greeting card in a corner.

“Luoluo, Happy New Year, thank you for the contributions you made to the Breeding Camp this past year.

Is the red envelope big and surprising enough?

Cough, your employee benefits this year include: 1 Lamp Vine Flower, 30 catties of Food Exchange Vouchers, 5 catties of Vegetable and Fruit Vouchers, 1 catty of Dried Fruit Exchange Vouchers, 3 tickets to the Mushroom Man Theater, 50 copper coins’ worth of Half-Breed City Shopping Vouchers, 50× Territory Contribution, and 10 silver coins.

Additionally, we will have the New Year’s staff meeting on the third day of the New Year.

Anyone with suggestions for the territory or the Breeding Camp can put them forward here.

I hope that with our joint efforts, the territory will keep getting better!

Please keep up the good work next year!”

“Ah!

It really is a big red envelope!

Mu Ying, I absolutely love you!” Liu Luoluo jumped up excitedly, her head breaking through the paper of the red envelope, and she popped out, giggling non-stop.

The disappointment of being unlucky with red envelopes tonight was instantly compensated!

At the same time, the heads of other Sub-camps were in a similar situation.

Professor Su and Professor Du, “This child is really thoughtful, a handwritten card indeed!”

Lin Shang, “What a great boss!

I’ve secured this iron rice bowl job for sure!”

Zheng Jing, “I never expected to find such a good job in the apocalypse!”

Xu Shan, “With such a generous boss, not pulling an all-nighter to work on the work plan would be a disservice to my own conscience!”

Ah Qiang, “I’m just an old miner, yet the Lord has treated me so generously!”

Guan Hai, “Good thing I seized the opportunity to join at the right time, otherwise missing this welfare handout would have driven me nuts!”

After distributing the red envelopes, Mu Ying planned to go back to her room to rest.

When she reached her room door, she suddenly noticed that the tapestry hanging there was not quite right.

The tapestry of the young Werewolf boy next door had somehow ended up on her own door, the back facing outward and the front tightly attached to her own witch tapestry.

“...”

Someone is really childish!

Mu Ying touched the Wolf Fur Ring, and the ring traced a silver light.

Unfortunately, making the portal had drained the Magic Power from the ring, now she couldn’t even conjure Shi Yin.

Oh well, considering the great lengths he went to be with her for the New Year, and since today was his birthday, she decided to leave the tapestry as it was for now!

She hadn’t forgotten the leaders of the three instances either, they were all elders.

Sending red envelopes wasn’t quite appropriate, so she planned to visit them personally the next day to offer New Year’s gifts.

They weren’t short of money; it was the thought that counted.

For the Half-Breed Clan Chief, she had prepared an Easy Fertility Potion, as he had been recently worried about the declining numbers of Half-Breeds, with none able to breed like the Mushrooms.

For the Mushroom Man Elders, Mu Ying had prepared a Magic Plant mushroom umbrella she had cultivated herself.

For the Mermaid Priest, Mu Ying had prepared a string of Lamp Vine Flower lights.

She had prepared the same type of light for Lily as well, though their designs were slightly different.

Lily had always liked the Magic Lamp in her Space Travel Box, but since the lamp was driven by Magic Power, it wouldn’t work for her, and after fixing the form of the Lamp Vine Flower, it wouldn’t be afraid of water either.

The base was made from Mermaid Sea Tree wood, which she had shaped with the Shaping Wood Skill.

Since the sea tree was an aquatic tree, it was even less afraid of water.

Given the Mermaids’ penchant for shiny, glowing objects, Priestess Granny would probably like this gift.

Last was for Grandpa Shom, who had been absent for a long time due to his involvement with the Oak Tree Fairies, and had not shown up for this year’s New Year’s celebrations.

She had prepared a pot of living Lamp Vine, as he would probably take an interest in it.

She hadn’t forgotten Wuyaya either, encasing a single Silver Coin in a small red envelope.

Compared to other things, it probably preferred money; although she couldn’t afford a Gold Coin, a Silver Coin was feasible.
