Chapter 211 - 211 208 Contraceptive Potion Hits the Shelves211: Chapter 208 Contraceptive Potion Hits the Shelves 211: Chapter 208 Contraceptive Potion Hits the Shelves “Hurry, hurry, hurry, the specialty store is about to open; if we’re late, we won’t snag any special-offer vegetables.”

Every morning, a grand scene in Qingshan Town involved friends calling out to one another to queue up in front of the Territory Specialty Store to snatch the day’s special-offer vegetables, getting them meant a win.

However, today seemed a bit different.

After opening the store, Professor Du was actually there.

She rarely manned the store in person after hiring clerks.

Moreover, a long red banner had been added to the shelves of the specialty store, with bold black letters that read: “Contraceptive Potion, single-use, carefree birth control, suitable for both men and women, harmless to the body, neutralized only by Fertility Potion.”

The “Daily Supply” wooden board was also replaced with a larger one.

Besides the usual section for daily vegetable listings, a conspicuously separate area was designated, with a lengthy message.

“For the happiness of everyone’s love life, the specialty store will provide a free dose of Contraceptive Potion to couples living in the territory for a long time.

After receiving it, you must drink it on the spot.

The contraceptive effect won’t interfere with the couple’s daily physical and mental ‘communication.’ When you want children, you can come back for a dose of Fertility Potion to reverse the effect of the Contraceptive.

We hope every child can be born into anticipation.”

“What’s this?

Birth control?”

“I never would’ve imagined—I came to buy vegetables, and it feels like I’ve stumbled into a vasectomy advocacy event?”

“Brother, you’ve seen the truth.

Just when we’ve started to eat our fill every day, the territory is pushing family planning on us!”

“Is this thing really harmless to the body?

It won’t affect future fertility, right?”

“Does a bachelor have to worry about this?

I wouldn’t drink it even if it’s free!”

“I’m going to fetch my boyfriend, let him drink it; otherwise, he’s not touching me!”

“Shh, let me secretly tell you something really scary.

Yesterday, I think I overheard the Lord talking about contraception with Zheng Jing at the tavern.

Then, the Lord hurried off without even finishing his meal.

Guess...”

“This medicine must be the work of the Lord!

Haven’t we been behaving recently?

Is the Lord planning to castrate us?”

“You smelly men, can’t you think more normally?

I think the Lord has seen through your sins and is taking precautions early, afraid that someone might get killed.

We don’t even have condoms now; can you control your third leg?”

“Focus on the issue; don’t bring gender into it.

If the medicine is really as described, with no side effects, does not affect fertility, does not affect male and female interaction, and can be negated with a dose of the Fertility Potion, then it’s undoubtedly a divine medicine!”

Professor Du cleared her throat, “This medicine was indeed instigated by the Lord.

She heard about the increasingly rich emotional lives of everyone and worked overnight to produce this potion.

Its effect has been certified by the Mercenary Guild and the Doomsday Game.

Everyone who gets it can verify its item information themselves.

This potion is a free benefit for the residents who have settled in Qingshan Town.

Other individuals must pay for it: one Contraceptive is one silver coin per person, and one Fertility Potion is two silver coins per person.

If you’re interested, you can come to me for the potions.

Today, we have a limited quantity of two hundred doses of Contraceptive Potion.

If you’re not yet planning to become parents, definitely do not conceive lightly.”

“So expensive?

Good heavens!

Isn’t it a loss to not drink it?”

“Only 200 doses!

Grab it first then talk!”

Some people impulsively went to get the potion and drank it, while others thought it inappropriate—medicine always has a poison risk, and what if there are problems with the potion’s effect?

So they decided to wait and see, letting others try first.

In the end, on the first day, publicity wasn’t very successful; fewer than a hundred people took and drank it.

Some of these people weren’t just looking for temporary contraception, they simply didn’t want children at all, yet couldn’t give up the pleasures of the flesh.

The discussion about this matter played out across the territory, with both praise and criticism.

Actually, everyone knew that Mu Ying had good intentions.

A lot of couples indeed face a lot of trouble due to the lack of contraception, but the potion was too magical, unheard of, and since it involved one’s own fertility, naturally, there were people who were skeptical and dared not take the risk.

Only the women’s support team, which was Nie Ying and her group, were the most supportive of this matter.

They understood the whole situation more clearly through Zheng Jing.

“At last, a contraceptive that men can take as well!”

“The Lord is so awesome!

Just yesterday Jingjing said she accidentally made the Lord work overtime, and who would’ve thought the potion would be out today!

I just heard from the owner of plot 6 that the Lord looked especially tired when casting spells today, even with dark circles under the eyes!”

“Wuu, I’m so touched!

We must support it!”

“Anyway, I support it.

That guy who’s been chasing me?

If he dares to take that Contraceptive Potion with me, I’ll agree to give it a try with him!”

“On the forums, there are even people who think the Lord is being redundant!

I heard that the Lord is an orphan, maybe she’s worried some people might accidentally have children and not take responsibility, ruining the children’s lives, I feel really sorry for her.”

“Sisters, let’s go to the forums and reason with those trolls!”

“Hey, wait, go to the Breeding Camp, there’s big action there!”

...

Today, when Mu Ying launched the sterilization potion, she had also asked Zheng Jing and Liu Luoluo to publicly test the potion’s effects at the Breeding Camp.

After all, the sterilization potion was an accident, the Easy Fertility Potion was what she had always intended to use at the Breeding Camp.

Now, the event organised by Liu Luoluo and her team had begun.

“Here we have a pair of mature Jumping Rabbits, a pair of prime-aged Fire-breathing Chickens, and a pair of common goats in their breeding season; all of them are not pregnant but are willing to breed.

Those who have doubts about the Contraceptive Potion can come up and inspect these three potions, and soon we will administer them,” Liu Luoluo announced loudly, “Who wants to come up?”

There weren’t a few who were concerned, and with the opportunity to test, everyone was glad to see it happen.

The verification was simple, just open the Player Manual and take a look.

Some people who had also checked the information of the Contraceptive Potion in the Territory Specialty Store confirmed that it was indeed the Contraceptive Potion.

“Have we confirmed that these are Contraceptive Potions?” Liu Luoluo said, “Now I’ll give each of them one.”

As she spoke, Zheng Jing led the test animals over.

Because they had communicated with them beforehand and offered food as compensation, they all quickly drank a Contraceptive Potion, followed by a Fertility Potion.

“Apart from countering the effects of the Contraceptive Potion, taking the Fertility Potion multiple times also has the effect of making them more fertile.

From now on, we will give them a Fertility Potion every day at noon, and everyone can come and see if they are still able to get pregnant.”

After feeding them for two days, on the third day, the Fire-breathing Chicken’s eggs were first detected as fertile eggs, and the laying rate had increased too.

After a little over a week, the Jumping Rabbits’ bellies could be felt carrying young, and by that time, while the goats had not shown any signs of pregnancy, the antidote effect of the Fertility Potion had been proven.
