Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 349: Chapter 345 The Terrifying Cyber Violence

There’s never a shortage of negative-energy keyboard warriors in this world who, disdainful and with dark psyches, not only disparage people but also mutually **** at each other’s wounds in search of validation.

After cursing Huo Sining, Zhang Jun’s long Weibo post quickly spread, and through the speculation of keyboard warriors, Huo Sining had transformed from an outstanding female magician into a white lotus accused of being unkind and unfilial.

However, the long Weibo post was just the beginning. Zhang Jun posted the first Weibo simply to test the waters, to see if anyone would pay attention to his long post.

After all, Huo Sining’s fame was due to a single video, and he was uncertain how many people were actually paying attention.

The results completely exceeded Zhang Jun’s expectations. Huo Sining was a top student, young and beautiful, and her magic captivated people. The curiosity and attention from netizens had reached its peak.

At this moment, someone came out with revelations about the real-life identity of Miss Magic, and with a major plot twist at that. Naturally, this drew the gaze of many netizens who loved a spectacle.

The next morning, Zhang Jun woke up and couldn’t wait to check Weibo, not even bothering to wash his face or brush his teeth.

After keeping everyone in suspense overnight, his Weibo followers had grown by over a hundred thousand. Seeing the six-digit number of followers displayed on his Weibo, Zhang Jun’s face flushed bright red.

There is a type of adrenaline in the human body, and when too much is secreted, it’s easy for a person to lose rationality and conscience, committing acts that violate their original behavioral norms.

Just like recklessly spending money in online games or acting on impulse to commit arson and murder, these are actions taken under the stimulus of adrenaline.

Zhang Jun looked at the rising numbers of Weibo shares and comments, feeling as if he were basking in the attention of the crowd.

As a reporter, what he craved most was to prove himself, to gain attention and worship in the process of releasing exclusive news.

Zhang Jun had tasted sweetness from this exposé on Huo Sining. At that moment, he felt like a king, controlling the entire narrative.

He was enveloped in an indescribable, irresistible euphoria, making him so elated that he wanted to reveal all the evidence, to accept the adoration of countless netizens.

But the remaining rationality told him it wasn’t time yet for his trump card.

There was a chorus of skepticism on Weibo, a multitude of netizens clamoring for him to produce evidence.

Zhang Jun ignored them, got dressed, even styled his hair with pomade to look more handsome, ensuring his image was perfect before heading out to take the subway to work.

”Have you heard? That Miss Magic who’s so popular on Weibo is actually an orphan.”

”Yeah, I saw that Mr. Jun Qiao’s exposé too. I really didn’t expect Miss Magic to be that kind of person.”

”To be cast aside after more than a decade, her uncle’s family must be blind, raising such an ingrate.”

”How could she afford college with no money? It’s not cheap at S University, and she even has a Tibetan Mastiff.”

”Maybe she’s being kept by someone. Rich people nowadays like to support female college students!”

...

On the subway, Zhang Jun actually overheard a few women chattering about his Weibo. He pretended to be sleeping, his face unchanged, but inside he was excited, unable to contain wave after wave of exhilaration.

Upon arriving at the magazine office, the team leader responsible for him asked him to buy a cup of coffee as soon as he saw him.

Normally, upon hearing this, Zhang Jun would hurriedly run to buy the coffee without any hesitation.

But today, he felt his spine had straightened, and he looked at the team leader indifferently and said, ”Team leader, I still have something to do here. Please find someone else to buy it.”

With so many people in the office watching, the team leader’s face alternated between green and white as he suffered a setback at the hands of Zhang Jun, and his eyes instantly darkened.

However, Zhang Jun didn’t care. He calmly walked to his own desk and sat down leisurely before slowly filtering out a few photos from his computer.

After editing and adding a string of text under the photos to whet people’s appetite, Zhang Jun then proceeded to upload the second piece of evidence.

He posted three photos: one was Huo Sining’s university student record ID photo, another was a picture of Huo Sining’s uncle’s house, and the last one was the blessing and signature Huo Sining had written in a high school classmate’s commemorative album.

Of these three photos, only two had been given to him by Wu Jingyi.

The other photo, Huo Sining’s university student record ID, was sent to him in a private message by a netizen who inquired after his e-mail address the night before, after he had exposed Huo Sining’s real face, and secretly emailed it to him.

With these three photos for comparison, one could say they served as corroborative evidence to his previous lengthy Weibo post.

He also smugly added a sentence on Weibo: A picture is worth a thousand words.

So early in the morning, with such explosive news, the crowd of netizens waiting for evidence immediately got excited.

Some sharp-eyed netizens immediately noticed that in both Huo Sining’s university student record and the classmate commemorative album, there was the same solo inch-size photo, which indeed closely resembled Miss Magic from the magic videos.

”It really is her! Although the person in the photo looks much more naive than in person, you can tell it’s her from the contours. However, her features seem to have become much more refined. Could it be that she’s had plastic surgery?”

”Oh my God, this exposé turned out to be true, it’s so sensational!”

”Behind Miss Magic’s glamorous façade lies the shame of the Magic Circle, having abandoned the uncle’s family that raised her for many years to gain what she has, it’s simply disgraceful!”

”I’m disillusioned, I thought she was a goddess, but to think that... hehe...”

”What matters most is where her money comes from. It couldn’t really be like some netizens guess, could it, that she’s being kept by some rich guy?”

A short Weibo post, and the comments below gathered issues such as plastic surgery, filial piety, and being kept—all issues not tolerated by society. Netizens are sensitive and fragile; seeing these comments, their impression of Miss Magic plummeted immediately.

Cyberbullying arises because many people cannot rationally address issues. On Weibo, those easily swayed make up a high proportion. Seeing the post Zhang Jun made, for a moment the number of shares skyrocketed, and countless people cursed Huo Sining in the comments.

Seeing how many people he had incited, Zhang Jun couldn’t help but want to laugh.

In the online world, the development of things is often uncontrollable.

When Zhang Jun chose to expose the information online, the consequences of his words were no longer something he alone could be responsible for. The result of many platforms joining the discussion was that ideas proliferated, and who would be attacked next was anyone’s guess.

With a real name and photos, some overly inquisitive netizens immediately sought to doxx Huo Sining, and some even called the school to verify, which immediately alerted the president of S University.
